Thank you for purchasing a CORD sub-eight, high performance subwoofer. The sub-eight
is just one product in our range embracing our philosophy of “extraordinary audio visual
gear”.
This product has been designed and engineered to give you many years of trouble free
listening enjoyment. Please ensure you carefully read this manual to gain the maximum
benefit from your purchase.
We suggest you keep your original proof of purchase receipt, this manual and the
original packaging for future reference, in case you need to move your product,
or in the unlikely event that you need to return the product for service.

Preparingforuse
• ToensureyouenjoymaximumbenetfromyourCORDproduct,please
takeafewmomentstoprepareyourproductforuse.
• Carefullyselectthepositionofthesubwoofersothatconnectingcablescaneasily
reachtheotherdevices.Ifnecessaryyoumayneedtopurchasecablesof
additionallength.
• Thissubwooferiscapableofproducinghighsoundpressureoutputwhichmay
causevibrationiftheareaofplacementisnotsturdyandsolid.Toavoid
possiblemovementandsubsequentdamagetoyourCORDproductpleaseuse
thisproductonlyonasolidsurface.
• PriortoconnectinganycablespleaseensurethattheACPowerisdisconnected.
• Beforeswitchingonthisproduct,pleaseensurethevolumelevelissetlowto
avoidinstantaneous,loudplayback.

Setup
• Do not switch on your CORD subwoofer until all connections are made.
• Connect the subwoofer out on your CORD mi-fi, source amplifier or receiver to the
SUBINDIRECTon the subwoofer using a single RCA.
• If your source amplifier does not have a dedicated subwoofer out, connect the line
outtotheLineINon the subwoofer using a RCA cable, then connect your
speakers directly to the speaker out terminals on the subwoofer.
• If your source amplifier does not have a dedicated subwoofer out or a line out, then
connect your speaker out from the source to the high level speaker in terminals ,
then connect your speakers to the speaker terminals on the subwoofer.
• Ensuretheventis not covered or blocked.
• Connect the AC Power cable to the AC socket and the AC wall socket.
SwitchofftheACPowerbeforeconnectingordisconnectingany
accessory cables to ensure correct operation.
Basicoperation
• ToturnONorOFF,movethemainPowerswitch totheONorOFFposition.
• To operate, turn the Operation switch to On or Auto. Auto will permit the subwoofer
to enter a standby mode when no signal is received for a prolonged period.
• To increase the output level, turn the Level control clockwise. To decrease the
volume turn the Level control counter clockwise. Adjust to remove any distortion.
• Toadjustthesubwooferphaseandachievetheoptimumsound,select0ºor180º
on the Phase selector .Normalsettingis0º.
• To adjust the crossover point or blend of sound between subwoofers and your other
speakers, adjust the Crossover selector .

CORD products are engineered and manufactured with pride to provide excellent perfor-
mance, value and years of trouble free operation. In the unlikely event that you should have
trouble with your CORD product we are pleased to offer this warranty. It is important that
you read the contents of this warranty and be familiar with your rights and obligations.
ScopeOfWarranty
CORD warrants to the original retail purchaser that we will repair or replace, at our option,
any CORD product which is found to be defective in material and/or workmanship for
12monthsfromthedateofpurchase.Duringthewarrantyperiod,anauthorisedCORD
ServiceCentrewillprovidebothpartsandlabourfreeofchargetocorrectanydefectin
materials or workmanship, subject to the warranty terms and conditions.

1.ThiswarrantyisvalidwithinAustraliaandNewZealandforCORDproductspurchased
inAustraliaorNewZealandfordomestichomeuseonlyandwhereusedinaccor-
dance with any instructions provided with or on the product.
2.Thewarrantyshallbevoidiftheserialnumberisremoved,defacedoraltered.
3.Youmustprovideacopyoftheoriginalpurchasereceipttoobtainwarrantyrepairs.
We reserve the right to quote for and or charge for repairs outside the warranty
period or where the date of original purchase cannot be verified.

5.Nopersonisauthorisedtomakeorgiveanyassertions,statementsorundertakings

WhatIsNotCovered
1.Thecostofdeliveryandinsuranceintransittotheservicecentre.Itisyoursole
responsibility to arrange for your product to be forwarded to your nearest CORD
ServiceCentreforrepairorreplacement.
2.Timetakentoinvestigateyourwarrantyclaimwheretheproductisfoundtobein
good working order. This includes where you have not followed instructions
contained in any manuals provided with the product or where the fault is caused by
use with incompatible equipment and or software.
3.Warrantyrepairswheretheproducthasbeentamperedwith,altered,modiedor
repaired by an unauthorised person.
4.Misuse,mishandlingorabusetotheproductincludingcosmeticimperfections,
scratches, Acts of God and or electrical surge.
5.Normalwear&tearandmaintenance,cleaning,periodiccheck-upsorcharges
for installation, removal or reinstallation of the product.
6. Audio or video data stored on your iPod and or other devices used with or
connected to your CORD product or media of any type.

1.Ifyoushouldrequirewarrantyservicepleasevisitourwebsitefordetailsofany
warrantyupdatesandthelocationyournearestauthorisedServiceCentre.
2.SecurelypackandsendtheproducttotheauthorisedServiceCentre.DONOT
return any accessories with your product unless the accessory is malfunctioning.
3.Westronglysuggesttransitinsuranceaswecannotberesponsibleforproducts
lostandordamagedwhenintransittotheServiceCentre.
4.Includeacleardescriptionoftheproblemyouareexperiencingwithyourproduct
and your name, address and daytime contact details.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from location
to location. This limited warranty does not intend to affect these rights in any way whatsoever.
