ATTACHING DRIVE BOARDS AND PADS
• Tilt the machine back on its wheels until the back of the motor housing is resting on
the floor exposing the drive mechanism at the front.
• A drive board or the brush should now be placed on the drive mechanism and locked
in place by turning anti-clockwise.
• When using the machine with the drive board select the correct size and grade of pad
and fit to the drive board.
• With the drive board or brush fitted the machine can be returned to the upright po-
sition.
• Reverse the process to remove the drive board or the brush.
OPERATING THE MACHINE
• Plug into power supply and check that green indicator light is on.
• The handle should be adjusted to a comfortable working height when the pad or
brush is flat on the floor.
• The handle is adjusted by pulling the height adjustment lever – this allows the handle
to be adjusted
• The handle will lock into position when this lever is released.
• Lift the handle so that the machine base is parallel to the floor.
• Operate the machine by sliding one of the safety switches outwards and lifting one of
the on/o levers as above.
• The temperature of the drive board is regulated by the thermostat dial.
• This primarily should be set at 85°C for use with the aluminum drive board and 0°C for
use with the carpet shampoo brush and plastic type drive board.
• To set the heatgun temperature, adjust the red knob located on the top of the heat
gun and set between 5 and 6 on the dial.
• When the machine is tilted back – with the back of the motor housing resting on the
floor and the aluminum drive board in place – attach a wet carpet pad onto the board
and use as per previous instructions.
• Caution: the aluminum drive board gets extremely hot – when handling use heat resis-
tant gloves to avoid burns etc.
• To adjust the pressure on the drive board or the carpet shampoo brush the weight can
be added by placing in position and hand tightening the bolts provided.
CONTROLLING MACHINE MOVEMENT
• When the brush or pad is flat on the floor – the machine will stay in the
• central position.
• To move to the right – slightly raise the handle and the machine will move to the right.
• To move to the left – slightly lower the handle and the machine will move to the left.
• The speed at which the machine moves either left or right will depend entirely on the
amount the handle is raised or lowered.

• Wipe all surfaces of machine after use.
• Always wind the cable around the bottom cable hook and handle.
• Wipe power cable clean after use – using a damp cloth.

WHAT IS THE ‘THERMADRY SYSTEM?
• Thermadry is a unique, low moisture, quick drying carpet cleaning system, incorporating
a thermal rotary machine.
• In one application, the system cleans, disinfects, deodorises and protects carpets.
•
WHAT IS SO GOOD ABOUT A ‘THERMADRY’ SYSTEM?
• Thermadry cleans as well as the traditional hot water extraction method, in many cases
Thermadry will give better results.
• The Thermadry is compact, lightweight, very quiet and has ‘stair climbing’ wheels.
• Carpets are left completely dry within a maximum time of 30 minutes after cleaning.
• The Thermal Rotary Machine does not incorporate vacuum motors or water pumps
therefore cutting down running costs and saving downtime.
• The chemical used in the process is pH7 (neutral), is safe to use on wool carpets and
does not require rinsing.
• Thermadry is quicker than hot water extraction cleaning.
• Cleaning costs average out at approx 4 pence per m² of carpet.
• The Thermal Rotary Machine can also be used for bonnet bung, hard floor scrubbing
and polishing.
DOES THE ‘THERMADRY’ SYSTEM HAVE ANY LIMITATIONS?
• The Thermadry machine can be used to clean all types of carpet except ‘Horse Hair’
type carpet tiles.
• At present, the Thermadry is unable to be used for cleaning stairs and upholstery.
HOW DOES THE ‘THERMADRY’ SYSTEM WORK?
• All carpet areas to be cleaned must be well vacuumed, using an upright vacuum that
incorporates a roller brush (Sebo BS36 or similar). This removes between 75% and
80% of all dirt from carpets.
• The carpet area is then presprayed with Craftex ‘Catalyst’ (Product Data enclosed).
This prespray then needs to be agitated with a shampoo brush or similar.
• The Thermal Rotary Machine is then used, with a thin bonnet pad soaked in Craftex
‘Catalyst’. As the machine heats the bonnet pad it draws all remaining dirt out of the
carpet and into the pad. (One thin bonnet pad covers approx 25m²).
• This pad process is then repeated using a clean pad soaked again in Craftex Catalyst
until the area to be cleaned has been covered.
• Carpet bonnets can be re-used by simply washing after use.
• When cleaned, the area will be dry within a maximum time of 30 minutes.
