7. Whenenginestarts,slowlypushchoke
controlin untilthe enginebeginsto
runsmoothly.Iftheenginestartsto
runroughly,pullthe chokecontrolout
slightlyfora fewsecondsandthen
continueto pushthecontrolinslowly.
• Theattachmentsand grounddrivecan
nowbe used.If theenginedoesnot
acceptthe load,restarttheengineand
allowitto warm upforone minuteusing
the chokeasdescribedabove.
COLDWEATHERSTARTING(50° F and
below)
7. Whenenginestarts,slowlypushchoke
controlin untilthe enginebeginsto run
smoothly.Continueto pushthechoke
controlin smallsteps allowingtheen-
ginetoacceptsmallchangesinspeed
and load,untilthechokecontrolis fully
in.Iftheenginestartsto run roughly,
pullthechokecontroloutslightlyfor
afewsecondsandthencontinueto
pushthecontrolinslowly.Thismay
requirean enginewarm-upperiodfrom
severalsecondsto severalminutes,
dependingon thetemperature.
NOTE:Inextremecoldconditions,if
enginewill notstart you mayneedto dis-
engagethe motiondrivebeltasfollows:
1. Besure parkingbrakeisengaged.
2. Removeretainerspringfromthe drive
belt tensionhandleto relievebeltten-
sion.
3. Start engineandallow itto warm up
forthree (3) minutes.
4. Shut-offengineandengageparking
brake.
5. Engagedrive belttensionhandleand
replacetheretainerspring.
AUTOMATICTRANSMISSIONWARMUP
Beforedrivingthe unitin coldweather,
thetransmissionshouldbe warmedupas
follows:
1. Besurethetractorison levelground.
2. Placethe motioncontrolleverin
neutral.Releasetheparkingbrakeand
letthe brakeslowlyreturnto operating
position.
3. Allowone minutefortransmissionto
warmup.Thiscan be doneduringthe
enginewarm up period.
• The attachmentscan be usedduring
theenginewarm-upperiodafterthe
transmissionhasbeenwarmedupand
mayrequirethechokecontrolbe pulled
outslightly.
NOTE:Ifata highaltitude(above3000
feet)or in coldtemperatures(below32 F)
thecarburetorfuel mixturemay needto
be adjustedforbestengineperformance.

PURGE TRANSMISSION
_CAUTION: Neverengageordisengage
freewheelleverwhilethe engineis run-
ning.
Toensureproperoperationandper-
formance,it isrecommendedthat the
transmissionbe purgedbeforeoperating
tractorforthe first time.Thisprocedurewill
removeanytrappedair insidethe trans-
missionwhichmayhavedevelopedduring
shippingof yourtractor.
IMPORTANT:Shouldyourtransmission
requireremovalfor serviceor replace-
ment,itshouldbe purgedafterreinstall-
ationbeforeoperatingthetractor.
1. Placetractorsafelyon levelsurface
withengineoff andparkingbrakeset.
2. Disengagetransmissionbyplac-
ingfreewheelcontrolin disengaged
position(See"TOTRANSPORT'inthis
sectionof manual).
3. Sittingin thetractorseat,start engine.
Aftertheengineis running,move
throttlecontrolto slowposition.Disen-
gageparkingbrake.
4. Movemotioncontrolleverto full
forwardpositionandholdforfive (5)
seconds.Moveleverto full reverse
positionand holdforfive(5)seconds.
Repeatthisprocedurethree (3)times.
NOTE: Duringthis steptherewill be no
movementofdrivewheels.The air isbeing
removedfromhydraulicdrivesystem.
