Step 2. Pair Mira Connect to the room
If you have a Mira Connect appliance, connect it to the network and power it up. Mira Connect appliances can use a PoE
network connection. Mira Connect requires WAN access to pair with the room in Mira Portal.
The Preview Mira Connect in a web browser feature opens a new browser tab and creates an interactive demo of the user
interface before you have a Mira Connect or any equipment. The preview feature uses Mira Connect’s built‑in equipment
emulators to create an interactive user experience before any equipment is purchased.
To pair a Mira Connect control system to your room:
• For Mira Connect appliances, select your language, network (wired or wireless), and then Mira Connect will show a
pairing code. Enter the pairing code into Mira Portal to associate the Mira Connect with the room in Mira Portal.
• If you are using Mira Connect soware, follow the instructions in the Mira Connect Soware Quick Install Guide to install
the Mira Connect soware and get a pairing code.
The following figures show the pairing steps when using Mira Connect appliances.

• If Mira Connect cannot connect to the camera over the network, confirm the IP address of the camera and that Mira
Connect is on the same network as the camera.
• If Mira Connect cannot connect to the camera over RS‑232, first check the RS‑232 baud rate used by the Global Caché
IP2SL (most VISCA cameras operate at 9600 bps while the Global Caché IP2SL defaults to 19,200), and then edit the
camera settings have enabled VISCA over RS‑232 and confirm the IP address, port number (4999 for a Global Caché
IP2SL.
Step 6. Add Camera Presets
To add Camera Presets, press the Camera icon on Mira Connect and select a camera from the camera pull‑down box on Mira
Connect.

Mira Portal supports setting camera movement speeds for pan, tilt, and zoom both when the movement button is tapped and
when it is held. To configure these settings, navigate to the Camera Configuration tab in Mira Portal and increase or decrease
the motion speed as shown in the following figure. Pan speed can be adjusted from 1 to 24 (fastest), tilt speed from 1 to 20
(fastest), and zoom speed from 1 to 7 (fastest).
The first row of speed controls aect when the pan, tilt, or zoom button is pressed and held. Default values are Pan Speed: 8,
Tilt Speed: 8, and Zoom Speed: 3.
The second row of speed controls aect when the pan, tilt, or zoom button is tapped. Default speed values are Pan Speed
(Slow): 3, Tilt Speed (Slow): 3, and Zoom Speed (Slow): 1.
To increase the speed of camera movement, increase the speed value. To decrease the speed of movement ‑ mostly used

Network connection using default TCP port 4999 with a Global Caché IP2SL. See our Global Caché Integration Guide for
configuring the Global Caché IP2SL.
• When using the Global Caché IP2SL for serial control, use Global Caché’s iHelp program to discover the Global Caché
IP2SL’s IP address, then browse into the device to set the desired static IP address. The Global Caché IP2SL with PoE
(part number 151.0010.001) is available as an accessory from Aveo Systems.
• Ensure the baud rate on the Global Caché IP2SL matches the baud rate configured on the camera. Default RS‑232
settings for most PTZ Camera are 9,600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control.
• Use a straight‑through RS‑232 cable that you provide as shown in the following figure to connect the Global Caché IP2SL
to the RS‑232 IN connector on the camera. An example cable that is known to work is available here.
