PBX)as basicSessionInitiationProtocol(SIP)users.
Audience
Theintendedaudienceincludes thoseattemptingtoconfigureanduseCrestron AviaDSP
devices as SIP endpoints registeredto MiVoiceBusiness (MitelPBX).

Product Description
TheCrestron AviaDSP products (DSP-1282andDSP-1283,specifically)consistof afamily
of programmabledigitalaudiosignalprocessors intendedfor thecommercialsound
market.Each version provides 12analogmic/lineinputs andeightanaloglineoutputs.The
devices includeaLocalAreaNetwork(LAN)connection andaUniversalSerialBus (USB)
connection for programmingandcontrol.Theprogrammablesignalflowis afixed
topologywithuser-configurableinput andoutputprocessingchains usingalibrary of
presetsignal-specific DSP blocks.
UsetheCrestronAviatooltocontrolandconfiguretheCrestron AviaDSP devices onthe
network.
UsetheCrestronToolbox™ softwaretodiscover andcontrolallCrestron devices on the
network.
Summary
This documentdescribes howtoconfiguretheCrestron AviaDSP devices as SIPusers.It
alsoprovides information onhowtoregister devices to theMitelPBXwithdigest
authentication.

lWhenregisteredto Mitel,theDSP is not availableto acceptcalls after apower cycle
unless theprevious callis disconnected.
lIn aMitelenvironment,acalldeclinedbytheDSP does notprovideappropriate
treatmenttothecallingparty.
lTheDSP fails toplay areorder tonewhenacallfrom theDSP toaPBXextension
eventuallytimes outafter thecalledparty does not answer.

Configure the SIP Parameters
FromtheopenPHN - In1 - PhoneReceivewindow,selectandconfiguretheSIP
parameters.
1. WithSIPselected,click thechevron attheright topcorner toexpandthewindow.
Crestron AviaTool: Phone Dialer, SIP Parameters Configuration
2. Enter theextensionconfiguredon Mitelfor theLocalExtensionfor this device.This
exampleuses 5000.
3. Enter theMitelPBX for theSIP Server IPAddress.This exampleuses 10.35.32.2.
4. Enter theSIP server port(5060)for thePort.
5. Enter thesameenduser nameconfiguredfor theMitelPBXwiththedigest
authentication credentials for theSIP Server User Name..
6. Enter thesamepasswordas configuredfor theMitelPBXenduser digest
credentials for theSIP Server Password.

Mitel Configuration
This section describes theMiVoiceBusiness system (MitelPBX)configuration necessaryto
supportregistrationof Crestron devices andconnectivitytoPublicSwitchedTelephone
Network(PSTN).
NOTE:Confirm thatthegeneralinstallationandbasicMitelconfigurationhavebeen
administered.
Verify Licenses
Ensurethat adequatelicenses areavailableintheMiVoiceBusiness System tosupportthe
Mitelphones andCrestron devices.
ClickLicenses >LicenseandOptionSelectionintheMiVoiceBusiness controller.Each
Crestron deviceuses oneIPuser license.

Configure Codec Settings and Network Zones
Configurecodec settings toallowG711u andG711acodecnegotiation.
ClickVoiceNetwork>CodecSettings andconfigurethecodecfilteringas shown.
Mitel: Codec Settings
NOTE:By default,usezone1 to negotiateG711u as thepreferredcodec.
ToconfigureNetworkZone1 to offer G711u as thepreferredcodec:
1. ClickVoiceNetwork>NetworkZones.
Mitel: Configure NetworkZones
2. SelectaZoneID to modify.This exampleuses 1.
3. SelectNofor theIntra-zoneCompression.

ConfigureNetwork Element
Tocreateanetwork element for thePSTN gateway:
1. ClickVoiceNetwork>NetworkElements.
2. ClickAdd.
Mitel: Configure NetworkElement
3. Enter PSTN_GW for theName(for this example).
4. Enter Other for theType.
5. Enter 10.64.1.72for theFQDN or IPAddress (for this example,which is theIP
address of thePSTN gateway).
6. Enter 1for theZone.This settingensures aG711u andG711acodec.
7. IntheSIP Peer Specificsection,dothefollowing:
a. Enter 5060for theSIP Peer Port (for this example).
b. Leaveallother fields atthedefault values.
8. ClickSave.

Configure Class of Service
Toconfigureclass of service:
1. ClickSystem Properties >SystemFeatureSettings >Class of ServiceOptions.
2. Select10for theClass Of ServiceNumber (for this example).
3. ClickChange.
