To ensure safe operation we advise you to get familiar with this user
manual. The producer does not assume liability for damage or failure due
to incorrect application or mounting.
Please read this manual carefully before commissioning.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read this manual carefully before commissioning.
The Lithium Ion Battery Power Drive Plus is exclusively intended for
use with defibrillators of ZOLL M Series®and ZOLL M Series®CCT.
Please reference the User Manuals of your defibrillator and charger for
additional clarifications if necessary.
The battery needs to be replaced using a fully charged battery as
soon as „LOW BATTERY“ lights up on the ZOLL M Series® or
ZOLL M Series® CCT; this needs to be done before warning
“REPLACE BATTERY” comes up, this limiting the functionality of
the ZOLL M Series® or ZOLL M Series® CCT.
To make sure the battery is applied correctly and connected to power,
allow for the LED “Charger on“.
Should the device have been damaged by a blow, crash or accident,
or should liquid have penetrated its electronics the battery must not
be used again. Please contact customer services.
This battery is not suitable for sterilization or for use with autoclave.
Do not allow that cleanser or liquids enter the openings.
Do not insert any foreign objects to the openings.
Due to an extraordinary number of discharges at maximum energy the
battery case may feel warm.
Always carry a battery in reserve to ensure an immediate replacement
when “LOW BATTERY” lights up on the ZOLL defibrillator.

Remark:
If the warning “LOW BATTERY” lights up on ZOLL M Series® or ZOLL M
Series® CCT and an audible tone of two beeps can be heard once per
minute (as described in the user’s manual of these devices), please
replace the PowerDrive Plus immediately to guarantee an uninterrupted
use of the battery. Otherwise the functions of the device might be limited
or not available continuously or the device switches off automatically,
even if the warning “REPLACE BATTERY” comes up.
The warnings indicate in any case to the upcoming power down of the
ZOLL M Series ® and M Series ® CCT, which is why a weak battery
needs to be replaced by a fully charged battery as soon as possible.
Please note that the battery lifetime may vary.
The operating time depends on the available capacity of the battery, this
being influenced very much by the age of the battery cells.
The electrical load caused by active functions of the defibrillator very
much influences the operating time of the battery. Using the device as a
monitor only gives a longer running time of the battery than delivering
defibrillator shocks continuously.
The time period between “LOW BATTERY” and “REPLACE BATTERY”
can be extended. We recommend to go to “PD 4410” in the configuration
menu of the defibrillator while choosing the adjustment “BATTERY TYPE
USED”.
To illustrate the acoustical and optical prompts of ZOLL M Series® or
ZOLL M Series® CCT it is recommended to select “1 min.” in the
configuration menu for “LOW BATTERY”.

If the battery has been discharged too much it might occur that –if
connecting the power plug to the switched off defibrillator –the indicator
display “CHARGER ON” lights up, changing from green to orange
meaning that the battery has no power. The battery needs to be taken out
of the device again for several minutes, then put back in again with the
defibrillator connected to the mains whilst it is switched off. If the orange
light “CHARGER ON” lights up permanently now, the battery is charging
properly.
Please pay attention to the user´s manual of your defibrillator.

APPLICATION
The Lithium Ion Battery PowerDrive Plus is intended for use with
defibrillators of ZOLL M Series®and ZOLL M Series®CCT only.
It can be charged with the internal defibrillator power supply of ZOLL
M Series®and ZOLL M Series®CCT as well as with chargers listed
below:
ZOLL Power Charger 1x1 Quick charger,
ZOLL Power Charger 4x4 Quick charger,
CRS Single Charger.
CRS Power Charger.

INSTALLATION
Insertion into defibrillator or charger
Insert the battery into the defibrillator so that the contacts are
connected with each other.
Removal out of defibrillator or charger
Push the button to release towards the contacts and remove.
Make sure the battery is correctly applied and connected to
power at each insertion. Allow for the LED “Charger on”.
Due to an extraordinary number of discharges at maximum
energy the battery case may feel warm.

CLEANING / DISINFECTION
Remove battery of the defibrillator or charger before cleaning and
disinfection.
For cleansing and disinfection please use mild standard cleaner and
disinfectants and make sure they do not affect plastic surfaces.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING
Temperature increases over
55°C while charging
Put the battery in a conditioned
room and avoid direct insolation.
Temperature is underneath -5°C
while charging.
Put the battery in a well tempered
room, before loading.
Do not allow that liquids enter the openings.

This product is subject to directive 2002/96/EC and consequently
has to be separated from general household garbage. Dispose
and recycle this product according to your local laws and
regulations.

The battery has to be discharged before disposal.

vielen Dank für den Kauf der Lithium Ion Batterie PowerDrive Plus.
Um die Batterie sicher nutzen zu können, weisen wir darauf hin, sich mit
dieser Bedienungsanleitung vertraut zu machen. Für Schäden, die durch
unsachgemäße Bedienung oder Montage entstehen, übernimmt der
Hersteller keine Haftung.
Lesen Sie die Bedienungsanleitung sorgfältig durch, bevor Sie den
PowerDrive Plus in Betrieb nehmen.
Bewahren Sie diese Anleitung für Nachschlagezwecke sorgfältig auf und
beachten Sie die Sicherheitshinweise.

SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
Lesen Sie die Bedienungsanleitung sorgfältig durch bevor Sie
den PowerDrive Plus in Betrieb nehmen.
Die Lithium Ion Batterie PowerDrive Plus ist ausschließlich für
den Gebrauch mit den Defibrillatoren der ZOLL M Series®und
ZOLL M Series®CCT bestimmt.
Nach dem Erscheinen der Warnung "BATTERIE SCHWACH" an
der ZOLL M Series® oder M Series® CCT, muss der Akku
umgehend durch einen vollgeladenen Akku ersetzt werden,
bevor die Warnung “BATTERIE WECHSLEN“ erscheint und die
Funktionsweise der ZOLL M Series® oder M Series® CCT
eingeschränkt werden kann.
Beachten Sie zusätzlich die Bedienungsanleitung Ihres
Defibrillators und Ihres Ladegerätes.
Vergewissern Sie sich nach jedem Einlegen der Batterie, dass
diese sicher sitzt und der Defibrillator die elektrische Verbindung
erkennt. Beachten Sie dabei immer die Anzeigeelemente " Betrieb“
bzw. "Ladung“ Ihres Defibrillators.
Hat die Batterie Schaden genommen z.B. durch Stoß, Schlag,
Unfall oder ist bei der Reinigung Flüssigkeit in die Elektronik
eingedrungen, darf die Batterie nicht wieder in Betrieb genommen
werden.
Die Batterie ist nicht zur Sterilisation oder zur Benutzung mit einem
Autoklaven geeignet.

Lassen Sie Flüssigkeiten nicht in die Elektronik eindringen.
Führen Sie keine Fremdobjekte in die Öffnungen des
Batteriegehäuses ein.
Nach außergewöhnlich vielen Defibrillationsentladungen bei
maximaler Energieabgabe kann sich das Gehäuse der Batterie
warm anfühlen.
Führen Sie immer eine Reserve-Batterie mit, um nach jedem
Alarm an der Defibrillatoranzeige “BATTERIE SCHWACH“ einen
direkten Batteriewechsel durchzuführen.
Hinweis:
Sobald die ZOLL M Series® oder M Series® CCT die Warnung “Batterie
schwach“ anzeigen und ggf. ein aus 2 Pieptönen bestehendes Signal
einmal pro Minute ertönt (wie in den Bedienerhandbüchern zu diesen
Geräten beschrieben), wechseln Sie sofort den PowerDrive Plus aus, um
einen ununterbrochenen Betrieb zu gewährleisten.
Danach können die Gerätefunktionen ggf. nicht mehr vollständig und
kontinuierlich verfügbar sein oder das Gerät schaltet sich aus, auch wenn
die Warnung “BATTERIE WECHSLEN“ erscheint.
Diese Warnungen weisen in jedem Fall auf die bevorstehende
Ausschaltung der ZOLL M Series® oder M Series® CCT hin, weshalb der
schwache Akku so schnell wie möglich durch einen vollgeladenen Akku
ersetzt werden muss.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Akku-Betriebszeit prinzipiell variieren kann.

Die Betriebszeit ist von der verfügbaren Akkukapazität abhängig. Diese
wird u.a. stark vom Alter der Akku-Zellen beeinflusst.
Die elektrische Belastung durch aktivierte Geräte-Funktionen hat
ebenfalls einen starken Einfluss auf die Akku-Betriebszeit. So ist die
Betriebszeit des Akkus im reinen Monitorbetrieb länger als bei der
Abgabe von aufeinanderfolgenden Defibrillatoren-Schocks.
Die Zeitfolge zwischen der Warnung "BATTERIE SCHWACH" und
“BATTERIE WECHSELN” kann verlängert werden. Wir empfehlen daher
im Konfigurationsmenü des Defibrillators, unter der Einstellung
“verwendeter Batterietyp“ diese auf “PD 4410" vorzunehmen.
Um die akustische und optische Anzeige bei der ZOLL M Series® und M
Series® CCT zu verdeutlichen, empfehlen wir im Konfigurationsmenü die
Einstellung “Ton Batterie schwach“ die Zeitwahl von “1min“
vorzunehmen.
Ist der Akku im Defibrillator zu stark entladen worden, kann es
vorkommen, dass beim Anschließen des Netzsteckers an den
ausgeschalteten Defibrillator die Anzeigelampen LADEEINHEIT EIN
zwischen grün und orange umschalten und somit keine Ladung des
Akkus erfolgt. Ist dies der Fall, sollte der Akku für einige Minuten aus dem
Defibrillator entnommen werden, bevor er wieder in den ausgeschalteten
Defibrillator eingesetzt wird, der an die Netzspannung angeschlossen ist.
Leuchtet die orange Anzeigelampen LADEEINHEIT EIN nun dauerhaft, so
wird der Akku ordnungsgemäß geladen.
