Description
EZ Trap EZT180 Inline Check Valve is sized for use in ductless mini-split applications. It
permits free condensate flow while preventing intrusion of outdoor warm or cold air,
dust, insects and odors. Designed for use with non-kinking corrugated PE Drain Hose
(DH-16).
The 5/8" inline Check Valve fits 16mm (5/8") drain lines. The kit includes a Rubber
Adapter for use with 14mm (1/2") drain lines.
*Per 2015 IMC 307.2.4.1 Commentary: "All mini-splits shall require an inline Check Valve
in the drain line or trap to prevent airflow from interfering with condensate flow and
prevent the escape of air through the drain."

IMPORTANT NOTES
1. For use with mini-split air conditioners only.
2. Remove Check Valve before cleaning cooling coil with chemical cleaner.
3. Do not glue this Check Valve.
4. Where possible, install within 6' of ground to facilitate inspection and cleaning.
5. Check Valve is not required if condensate pump is fitted.
6. Clean at least once annually as required.
7. Ensure that bleed holes are not blocked.
8. This device must be installed strictly in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
to ensure proper operation and in accordance with all applicable local plumbing,
drainage and/or mechanical codes.

THIS CHECK VALVE IS DESIGNED FOR
USE WITH NON-KINKING CORRUGATED PE DRAIN HOSE
(DH-16). THIN WALL VINYL HOSE KINKS VERY EASILY AND
SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR THIS APPLICATION.
DO NOT INSTALL INLINE CHECK VALVE HORIZONTALLY.
DRAIN HOSE EXITING UNIT MUST HAVE SLOPE TO
FACILITATE CONDENSATE FLOW.
Installation Instructions
1. Inline Check Valve must be fitted at least 12" below
indoor unit (Figure 1).

2. Ensure that Black Valve Assembly is perpendicular
to or facing away from wall to facilitate cleaning.
3. Insert end of 16mm (5/8") drain hose into wide end
of Check Valve and seat firmly (Figure 2). For use
with 14mm (9/16") drain hose, utilize the included
Rubber Adapter.
CHECK VALVE MUST BE INSTALLED
VERTICALLY – WIDE END UP AND NARROW END
DOWN – FOR CONDENSATE TO FLOW. INCORRECT
INSTALLATION WILL CAUSE BACK-UP OF CONDENSATE.
4. Insert narrow end of Check Valve into top of lower
drain hose (Figures 4 & 5).
5. Wrap inlet and outlet connection with PVC Tape
(Figure 6).
6. Fit assembly to wall with 2 pipe brackets, installed
3" from Check Valve (Figure 5).
