Assembly and Use Instructions
Read these instructions thoroughly prior to installation start.
1. Gather recommended parts list or order installation kit.
Lay out all parts in order of assembly
2. Prepare by first applying Teflon tape (not supplied) 3 wraps around each threaded fitting.
Assemble the inflow / outflow ports
3. Verify that a plug is installed at the internal bypass port on the IN side of the dispenser,
then, using typical PVC primer and glue (not supplied) install the 1 ½“x ½“ SP x FT
bushing (3) to the port labeled IN at the bottom of the contact chamber, then duplicate
actions and install the second 1 ½“x ½SP x FT bushing (3) to the port labeled OUT.
4. Note: Allow sufficient dry (hardening time) consult your PVC glue container for directions.
5. Assemble one each of the (Teflon taped) ½” x 2 ½“nipples (4) and ½” hose barb
adapters(6) screwing each into opposite ends of one of the ½” FPT utility ball valves(5),
Note: typical tightening is hand tight plus 1/3 turn with a wrench Do not over tighten.
6. Screw this assembled nipple, valve, barb, assembly into the 1 ½“x ½“ SP x FT bushing
installed at the bottom of the dispenser labeled IN. typical tightening is hand tight plus
1/3 turn with a wrench Do not over tighten. Make sure the valve handle is facing up or in
a position where it can be easily reached after the completed installation.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to the OUT port of the contact chamber.
8. Set contact chamber into its base(2).
9. Optional action: You may choose to: turn the assembled contact chamber and base
upside down and apply a bead of silicone caulking (not supplied) to the underside of the
base where it meets the chamber housing; this will create a more solid connection
between these two parts, after the silicone hardens.
10. Set unit upright and place it at a convenient location among the pool equipment,
preferably on the equipment pad. Noting: unobstructed access to the contact chamber lid
and utility ball valves, also note proper location of the IN and OUT ports. Secure contact
chamber base to the ground with cement screws, if possible.
Connections to pool plumbing
Prior to these next steps: be certain the pool equipment power is off and the utility ball
valves (if any) are closed.

11. IN - flow side: Locate a suitable spot at the circulation pump’s 2” or 1.5” rigid PVC
discharge pipe, between the pump and filter. Pick a location that will allow for the
installation of one of the saddle clamp assemblies.
12.Drill a 5/8” hole in the pipe, clean any burrs / rough edges and remove debris.
13.Place saddle gasket (11) on the hole and insert saddle tube (10). Use saddle clamp
(9) to secure. Do not over tighten.
14.OUT - flow side: Locate a suitable spot at the pool circulation equipment’s 2” or 1.5”
rigid PVC pipe, between the filter and the heater; or after the heater. Do not install
less than 18” downstream of chlorine, bromine or other chemical feeder(s).
15.Drill a 5/8” hole in the pipe, clean any burrs / rough edges and remove debris.
16.Place saddle gasket(11) over the hole and insert saddle tube(10). Use saddle
clamp(9) to secure. Do not over tighten.
17.Cut tubing(8) into two appropriate lengths.
18.Slide small hose clamps (7) over the hose ends and attach one end to the hose barb
adapter (6) – inflow saddle assembly (between the pump and filter) the other end to
the barb fitting at the IN side of the contact chamber. Now tighten the small hose
clamps, repeat actions from the OUT side of the contact chamber to outflow saddle
assembly (between the filter and heater or after the heater)
19.Verify that the flow restrictor tube is upright and properly seated to the bottom center
port of the contact chamber.
20.Verify o-ring is seated properly on contact chamber lid. Lubricate as needed. Add
PoolMoss® refills into the tank, using the dosage chart on the back of the following
page. Install the contact chamber lid and lock ring, do not over tighten the lock ring
and verify that the air relief vent is closed.
21.Open the previously closed pool equipment ball valves and turn the pool equipment
back “ON.” After the pool pump is fully primed and running and you’ve bled the filter of
air, verify the inflow and outflow valves on the contact chamber are also open. Check
for leaks, tighten clamps if needed.
22.Slightly open the air relief valve on the cover and leave open until water flows out, the
tank is now full. Tighten / close the air relief valve.
Maintain proper IN and OUT installation locations as noted above.
NOTE: For optimum PoolNaturally® system performance, new filter media or filters are highly
recommended

Maintenance Instructions
Spring Start Up/Opening
• Install the PoolNaturally® system at the beginning of the pool season for best results.
• Start with a fresh filter.
• When starting/opening pool, do not add stabilizer (cyanuric acid) or algaecide.
• Add EPA registered pool chlorine to get recommended free chlorine level.
• Adjust pH, alkalinity, and hardness to recommended levels.
Free chlorine 1-3ppm
pH 7.2-7.4
alkalinity 40-120
CYA *less than 20ppm
• Once water has been balanced, add PoolMoss® to PoolStart™ contact chamber
according to the dosage chart (see detailed instructions below – Changing PoolMoss®).
• The first season you use the PoolNaturally® system, check and clean filter or backwash
filter weekly for the first month. As material is shed from the pipes and pool surfaces, it
will collect on/in filters and needs to be removed by rinsing or backwashing.
Routine Maintenance
• PoolMoss® dosing has been designed for best results when PoolMoss® is changed
once a month (see below for details about how to change PoolMoss®).
• Maintain 1-3 ppm of free chlorine.
• Monitor pH, alkalinity, hardness, and free chlorine weekly with test strips or other
approved testing equipment or take water samples to your local pool retailer.
Important Pool Maintenance Note
When backwashing, hyper-chlorinating, shocking, or using algaecide, close the inflow and
outflow valves to the PoolStart™. Re-open valves when chlorine levels return to 1-3 ppm free
chlorine and, if using an algaecide, when it is once again safe to use your pool per algaecide
instructions.
At the End of the Season (for cooler climates).
Take appropriate winterising steps for the whole pool system. Completely empty water from
the PoolStart™contact chamber and remove PoolMoss®. Add WinterMoss™for best results!
