Instructions
Adaptor with 4 mm male and 2 mm female banana
connector.
The adaptor should be used to connect equipment with 2 mm
sheathed plugs to 4 mm safety output jacks. The 2 mm connectors
are found on certain older equipment and on newer equipment rated
for voltages more than 1000 V. The 4 mm output jacks are found on
newer high voltage power supplies rated for less than 1000 V.
Important safety precautions
Observe the following safety precautions to prevent exposure to high
voltages:
•Check carefully the instruction manual for the used power supply
and the connected equipment.
•This adaptor is designed to use with Cytiva high voltage power
supplies with 4 mm sheathed output jacks, for example EPS
2A200, EPS300 and EPS600.
•This adaptor is approved for 500 V relative protection ground.
•The power supply output must not exceed ±500 V relative to
protection ground. This means a maximum setting of 1000 V in
case the power supply's outputs are symmetrical against
protection ground, and a maximum setting of 500 V in case the
power supply has outputs connected to protection ground.
•The power supply setting must never exceed the maximum
rating of the connected equipment which should be less than
1000 V.
•Switch the power supply off before connecting or disconnecting
the adaptor.
•Use this adaptor only with the sheathed plugs illustrated above.
Do not use with an exposed plug or a plug with a retractable
shroud.
