•It is imperative to unplug the power cord after the
appliance has been used, before it is cleaned and whilst
being repaired.
•Repairs to electrical appliances should only be performed
by qualified personnel. Improper repairs may place user at
serious risk.
•DO NOT operate this appliance with a damaged plug or
cord, after a malfunction or after being dropped or
damaged in any way.
•Regular, periodic checks should be carried out on the
mains cable to ensure no damage is evident. Should there
be any signs of damage the appliance should not be used.
•If the power cable is damaged, it should only be replaced
by qualified personnel in order to avoid a hazard.
•DO NOT allow the mains cable to hang over sharp edges
or come in contact with hot surfaces.
•DO NOT run the mains cable under carpets, rugs, etc.
•The appliance is not to be used if it has been dropped, if
there are visible signs of damage or it is leaking.
•The plug must be removed from the socket outlet before
the reservoir is filled with water or the waste water tank
emptied.
•The filling aperture must not be opened during use.
•Allow the unit to cool before storage.
•Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the mains
supply and allow to cool.
•This appliance is intended for household use only and
should not be used for industrial purposes.
•DO NOT use any accessories or attachments with this
appliance other than those supplied or recommended by
supplier.

•DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the electrical cord.
•Caution: Always wear suitable shoes when using the
Carpet Washer and when changing accessories, do not
wear slippers or open toed footwear.
•Ensure fingers and other objects are never placed in any
part of theCarpet Washer. Clothing or hair may become
trapped if the Carpet Washer is used improperly.
•Keep hair, loose clothing, jewellery, fingers and all parts of
the body away from openings and moving parts.
•Keep all air vents clear and free of dust, lint, hair and
anything else that may reduce airflow.
•Avoid directing the appliance towards naked flames as the
air discharged may extinguish gas fires or pilot lights and
may disturbashes in open fires.
•Never operate the appliance without water.
•Never fill the water tanks past the maximum level mark.
•DO NOT run the Carpet Washer over hot ashes or lit
cigarettes, etc.
•Do not use the Carpet Washer without the water tanks
fitted.
•DO NOT run the Carpet Washer over any large or broken
objects such as glass.
•DO NOT run the Carpet Washer over anything that is
burning or smoking such as cigarettes, matches or hot

Information About Your Carpet Washer
This appliance is designed to be used for removing light levels of dirt on carpets
and for freshening up carpets, it is not suitable for use as a conventional vacuum
cleaner.

Assembling Your Carpet Washer
WARNING! Ensure that the carpet washer is
not connected to the mains supply before
assembly
Attach the Handle (1) to the Carpet Washer
as shown left with the two Handle Fixing
Screws (16) provided using a Crosshead
screwdriver (Not Supplied).
Do not overtighten the screws as this may
permanently damage the threads.
Filling the Solution Tank (5)
1.Remove the Solution Tank (5) by lifting the Solution Tank Release Catch (4)
forwards and removing the tank towards you.
2.Lift the Clean Water Filling Cap (3) up and fill
the Solution Tank (5) with warm water (max.
40⁰C) as shown right, ensuring that the water
level is not above the ‘MAX’ mark (arrowed)
on the side of the tank:
In hard water areas it is strongly
recommended that demineralised water is
used to avoid calcium build up which may
damage the carpet washer.
3.Add carpet cleaning solution to the Solution Tank (5) carefully following the
manufacturer’s instructions.
4.Only use this appliance with an appropriate (Low-Foaming) commercial carpet
cleaning solution such as Daewoo Carpet & Upholstery Shampoo which is
available by contacting Daewoo Customer Services on 0161 831 7879 or email
help@daewooelectricals.com.
5.Using incorrect solutions will cause excessive foaming which may prevent the
appliance from performing correctly and may cause permanent damage to the
appliance.
6.DO NOT use solvents or cleaners with strong acidic or alkali formulas or any

type of cleaning solution not specifically for use in carpet cleaners.
7.DO NOT use washing up liquid or similar.
8.To replace the tank, place the bottom of the tank onto the machine first and
then push the top of the tank towards the Handle (1) until it clicks home.
9.Always ensure that the Solution Tank (5) is properly in place before using the
carpet washer.
DO NOT overfill the solution tank as this will cause a spillage/leakage.
DO NOT operate the Carpet Washer with an empty solution tank.
Preparing Your Carpet for Cleaning
WARNING! DO NOT
use this Carpet Washer as a dry vacuum cleaner as
this will damage the appliance.
1.Remove as much furniture from the room as possible. Place plastic sheets or
other protective covering under and around any furniture left in the room.
2.Thoroughly vacuum the carpet to be cleaned with a regular vacuum cleaner.
3.Dampen a white cloth and rub the cloth gently over a small test area on the
carpet and check for any colour bleeding. If the cloth remains clean, it should
be safe to clean the carpet.
WARNING!
DO NOT continue to clean the carpet if any colour is released on
the cloth as permanent damage may occur to the carpet.
Cleaning Your Carpet
Before cleaning your carpet, decide where to start from and where to stop at so
that you do not walk over areas that have already been cleaned.
Do not saturate the carpet with cleaning solution.
If the carpet is heavily soiled, use a separate solution for heavily soiled areas such
as Daewoo Carpet & Upholstery Stain Remover which is available by contacting
Daewoo Customer Services on 0161 831 7879 or email
help@daewooelectricals.com.
1.Remove the Mains Cable (13) from the back of
the Carpet Washer by rotating the Adjustable
Cable Tidy (10) upwards as shown right and
then remove the Mains Cable (13):

2.Fully unwind the Mains Cable (13) and insert the
mains plug into the nearest mains socket and switch
the socket on (if applicable).
3. Hold the Carpet Washer by the Handle (1) and
then step on the Handle Release Pedal (11)
shown left and gently lower the Handle (1)
into the cleaning position:
4.Step on the On/Off Pedal (12) to operate the Carpet
Cleaner:
5.Whilst pressing the Solution Release Trigger (2) to release the cleaning
solution then push the carpet washer forwards to allow the Scrubbing Bar (9)
to clean the carpet.
6.Once you have reached the edge of the carpet, release the Solution Release
Trigger (2) and then pull the cleaner backwards towards you along the same
path to remove the dirty cleaning solution from the carpet.
7.Repeat the above steps 3 & 4 to clean the rest of the carpet or heavily soiled
areas.
8.Once the cleaning is complete, step on the On/Off Pedal (12) to switch the
cleaner off.
9.Lift the Handle (1) up to the upright position until it locks into place.
10.To store the washer, wrap the Mains Cable (13) around the Adjustable Cable
Tidy (10) on the back of the appliance.

Hints and Tips to Cleaning Your Carpet
1.Lift the cleaner by the Handle (1) to move the appliance to the desired cleaning
position.
2.DO NOT run the washer over the Mains Cable (13), hold any excess cable in
your free hand whilst cleaning.
3.Use steady, moderate forwards and backwards motion whilst cleaning your
carpet.
4.Always work from back to front across a room to avoid stepping on wet carpet.
5.Don’t allow the carpet to get too wet, use no more than two sets of forwards
and backwards paths. Always finish with a drying path –the more dry paths the
better.
6.Wipe any cleaning solution from woodwork and furniture to prevent any
damage.
7.Allow plenty of time for the carpet to dry and avoid walking on it until it is dry.
8.Increase air circulation i.e., open doors, switch on fans or using a dehumidifier
will help to dry the carpet thoroughly and prevent mildew or mould.
9.After the carpet has thoroughly dried, vacuum the carpet with a conventional
vacuum cleaner.
Using the Upholstery Tool (15) Attachment
Use the Upholstery Cleaning attachment to clean stairs, upholstered furniture,
hard to get at areas, etc.
1. Lift the flap up at the front of the Carpet
Cleaner and insert the Upholstery Tool (15)
into the outlet as shown left:
2. Ensure there is solution in the Solution Tank
(5) –see Filling the Solution Tank (5) above.
3.Step on the On/Off Pedal (12) to
operate the Carpet Washer:
4.Draw the tool backwards over the
carpet or upholstery to be cleaned
whilst pressing the Upholstery Tool
Trigger (15) to release the solution.
5.Release the trigger and draw the
tool over the same path to remove
the dirty solution and clean the
carpet, upholstery, etc.

Emptying the Dirty Water Tank (7)
A.Ensure the mains plug is removed from the
socket before emptying the Dirty Water
Tank (7) or cleaning & maintenance.
B.Once the dirty water has reached the ‘MAX’
mark shown right, the Dirty Water Tank (7)
must be emptied.
C.Push the Dirty Water Tank Release Catch (6)
down and remove the Dirty Water Tank (7) clear
of the Carpet Washer.
WARNING! DO NOT continue to use your Carpet Washer once the ‘MAX’
mark has been reached as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.
D.Lift up the rubber ‘Quick Spout’
up at the top of the Dirty Water
Tank (7) and pour the dirty
water away a shown left and
then thoroughly rinse out with
warm water:
E.Replace the Dirty Water Tank
(7) back onto the Carpet
Washer.

Cleaning & Maintenance of Your Carpet Washer
WARNING! Always disconnect the carpet washer from the mains power
supply before cleaning.
•Clean outside of the carpet washer with a clean damp cloth. Never use harsh or
abrasive cleaners.
•Do not submerge the appliance in water or any other liquids.
Cleaning the Scrubbing Bar (9)
F. After each use, turn the Carpet
Washer upside down and remove the
Scrubbing Bar (9) from underneath
by pressing the two catches at the
front and rear of the Scrubbing Bar
(9) in the direction of the arrows and
removing as shown left:
Take care whilst removing the Scrubbing
Bar (9) not to lose the connecting pin that
fits between the bar and cleaner –see
below:
G. Wash the Scrubbing Bar (9) clean in warm water
and allow to dry thoroughly before refitting back on
to the Carpet Washer.
To refit the bar, press the two catches as shown
above in ‘F’ and push back into place, ensuring the
connecting pin is inserted into the hole in the
Carpet Washer as shown left:
Storing Your Carpet Washer
•Always wrap the Mains Cable (13) around the Adjustable Cable Tidy (10) on
the back of the Carpet Washer.
•DO NOT store the Carpet Washer with water in either tank –rinse the tanks
out and allow to thoroughly dry before storage.

Non-Wireable Mains Plug
If your appliance is supplied with a non-wireable plug fitted to the mains lead
and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one
(conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). Never use a plug with the fuse cover
missing. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
If you need to remove the plug –DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS –and then cut
it off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse
the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of electric shock.
