This user’s manual will help you become familiar with our device in a very short time.
Before installation and operation, please read the following safeguard and warning carefully!
Important Safeguard and Warning
1．Electrical safety
All installation and operation here should conform to your local electrical safety codes.
The product must be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock.
We assume no liability or responsibility for all the fires or electric shock caused by improper
handling or installation.
2．Transportation security
Heavy stress, violent vibration or water splash are not allowed during transportation, storage and
installation.
3．Installation
Keep upwards. Handle with care.
Please check the device max total power consumptions and make sure the supplying power rate
is higher than the device normal operation parameter. Otherwise, it may result in device
malfunction, data loss.
Do not apply power to the device before completing installation.
Do not place objects on the device.
4．Qualified engineers needed
All the examination and repair work should be done by the qualified service engineers.
We are not liable for any problems caused by unauthorized modifications or attempted repair.
5．Environment
The device should be installed in a cool, dry indoor place away from direct sunlight, inflammable,
explosive substances and etc.
6. Accessories
Be sure to use all the accessories recommended by manufacturer.
Before installation, please open the package and check all the components are included:
Contact your local retailer ASAP if something is missing in your package.
7. Disk Replacement
When replace the disk, please make sure you are using the same model from the same
manufacturer and of the same capacity!

1General Introduction
Note: All the installation and operations here should conform to your local
electric safety rules.
1.1 Overview
The ESS internet intelligent storage unit is a storage disk array product. It has two series: 4-HDD
series and 8-HDD series. It adopts high reliable SATA extension chip, high performance and at
low cost. It is easy to use.
This series product can realize storage function via eSATA or USB3.0 port. It is the ideal high
performance–price ratio product in the entry or middle level market. It can meet the various
requirements of the client such as product function, performance, and etc.
1.2 Front Panel
The 4-HDD series product front panel is shown as below. See Figure 1-1.

1.3 Features
High performance-price ratio hardware platform. Low cost and stable performance. Support
SATA3.0 HDD storage (1T/2T/3T/4T/6T and etc). Support 4/8 HDDs.
It is to add host storage space. Support eSATA/USB3.0 port.
Support 128-channel 4Mbps bit stream reading and writing.
Easy to use. Just use on cable (USB cable or eSATA cable) to connect to the host.

No GUI, no setup requirements. It is available after boots up.
1.4 Applications
It is to meet the 4HDD/8HDD storage requirements. It can work with the DVR/NVR of large-
channel amount to extend the storage space.
Connect to DVR/NVR; it is to add DVR/NVR storage space.
Connect to the host of the USB port. It is to add host storage space. Its usage is as easy as
the external HDD.
