LUBRICATION
OPERATION
Ifthetoolisnotusedwithanin-line lubricationsystemon
theairsupplyitisnecessarytoperiodicallylubricatethe
toolwithairtoollubrication.
USEONLY THEAIRTOOLLUBRICANTS SUPPLIEDWITH
THETOOL. Donotuse otherlubricantsastheymay
damagethetool.
Donotuse detergentoil,WD-40,transmissionfluid,motor
oil, orotherlubricantsnotspecificallydesignated as airtool
lubricants.Theselubricantswillcauseacceleratedwearto
theseals,o-rings,and bumpersinthe tool, resulting in
poortoolperformanceandfrequentmaintenance.

The correctairpressureisthelowestpressurewhich will
do the job.Usingthe toolatahigherthan required air
pressureunnecessarilyoverstressesthetool.

lubricantintotheairsupplyfittingattachedtothetool

thetoolandbenoticeableinthe exhaust.
ASSEMBLY/INSTALLATION
Followtheinstructionsbelowtoprepareyourtoolfor
operation.
All tooloperatorsand theirimmediatesupervisorsmust
becomefamiliarwiththe operatorsafetyinstructions
beforeoperatingthetool.
Includedwitheach toolareone copyofthese
Operating/SafetyInstructions. Keepthispublicationsfor
futurereference.
Install afilter,regulator,lubricatorunitandmoisturetrap
on yourairdeliverysystemperthemanufacturer's
instructionsforthesedevices.Additionally,installa
pressuregauge asclose aspracticaltothe tool,
preferablywithin10 feet.
Selecthoses withaminimuminnerdiameterof1/4
inchesandamaximumlengthof100 feet.

To reduce theriskofinjuryfromahosebursting,select
hosesthatareratedatleast200PSI.
Selectfittings thatareappropriatesizefortheselected
hoses.Thetool andairhosemusthaveahosecoupling
sothatall pressureisremovedfromthetoolwhenthe
couplingjointisdisconnected.
Neverusenonrelievingcouplersand/orfemalequick
disconnectcouplingsonthetool. Nonrelieving couplings
and femalecouplings willtraphighpressureairinthetool
whentheairlineisdisconnected.Thiswillleavethe tool
charged withenoughairafterithas been disconnected to
driveanail. OnlyMALEpneumatictypeairconnectors
shouldbefittedtothetool,sothathighpressureairinthe
toolisventedtoatmosphereas soonastheairlineis
disconnected.
SettheregulatorattheairdeliverysystemtoaPSIthat
fallswithinthe tool'soperating rangeof70-110PSI.The
correctpressureisthe lowestpressurethatwill dothe
job.

Beforeactuallybeginning thenailing work, testthetoolby
usingthecheck listbelow.Conductthetestinthefollowing
order.
Ifabnormaloperation occurs,stopusingthetooland
performedby qualifiedrepairpersonnelimmediately.

Whenloadingthetoolsmagazine, checkthatthe nailtips
contactthe wearrailandslidesmoothlyagainstthesurface
ofthemagazine. Ifthenailsarenotloadedproperly,the
toolwill misfireand nailscanbe deflected,causing thetool
toreactinanunexpected manner,anddamagethetool.
Connectairsupply.
Press magazinelatch and pullmagazinetoopen
position (FIG 5).
See toolspecificationtodetermineappropriatenail
sizes.Insertappropriatenail strips,withthenailtips
contactingthewearrail (FIG6).
Pushthenailstripagainstthe nose.

Thistoolisequipped withthesafetyanddoes notoperate

The methods ofoperationtodrivenailswiththistoolis
sequentialactuationmechanism.
1).Positionthe nailoutletontheworkpiecewithfingeroff
thetrigger.
2).Depress thesafetyfirmlyuntilitiscompletely
depressed.
3).Pull the triggertodrive anail.
4).Remove fingerfromthetrigger.
Alwayshandlenailsandpackagecarefully.If nailsare
dropped,collatingbentmaybebroken,which willcause
mis-feeding and jamming.
Afternailing:
1).Disconnectairhosefromthe tool.
2).Remove allnailsfromthe tool.
3).Supply5-10dropsofpneumatictoollubricantinto
theairplug onthetool.
4).Open thepetcockon theaircompressortank todrain
any moisture.
COLDWEATHEROPERATION
When usingthetoolincoldconditionsthetoolwillcycle
slowerthan usualwhiledriving the firstnails.Thecyclerate
willincrease asthetoolwarmsup.Keeptoolwarmtoavoid
reduced cyclerate.
DONOTUSEAFROZENTOOL. Allowtooltothawbefore
using.Moisturefrozeninthetoolmay impedeinternal
componentsresultingintheriskofinjuryand/ortool
damage.
WARNING
To continuenailing aseparatelocation,movethetool
alongthe wood,repeatingsteps(2-4)asrequired.
ADJUSTINGTHENAILING DEPTH
Disconnectthetoolfromtheairsourcebeforemaking
adjustments. Such precautionarysafetymeasures reduce
theriskorunintentionaltooloperation.
Disconnecttoolfromairsupply.
Removenailsfromthe tool.
Adjusttooldrivingdepth:
Toreducethe naildepth,turntheadjustmentknob
counterclockwise(FIG 7).
Todrivethenaildeeper,turntheadjustmentknob
clockwise (FIG8).
Reload nailsasdescribedinthe "Loading Nails"section
ofthismanual.

remove yourfingerfromthetriggeranddisconnectthe air
housefromthenailer.
Ifyouliketoprotectthe surfaceofworkpiece against
scratchesormarkings madebythesafety,attach the
accessoryNo-MarTiptothesafety.

The redindicatorbarsareusedtoshowwhen the tool
needstobereloaded(FIG 10).Whenthetoolisloaded with
anailstrip,the red indicatorbarswill nolongerbevisiblein
theindicatorwindow.Asthen nailsstripisconsumed, the
redindicatorbarswillstarttobecomevisible.Thetool
shouldbereloadedwhen theredindicatorbarishalfway
exposedinthe indicatorwindow.

withthe screws(A).
Reconnectthe tooltotheairresource.

intoelectricaloutlet.
Closepressureregulatorbyturning all thewaytothe
left. TurncompressorON andletitpumpallthewayup
toautomaticshut-off pressure.
Attachairhosetoregulatoroutlet.Adjustpressure
regulatorbyturningtothe rightsothatoutletpressureis
between70PSIto110PSI.
Load fastenersintonailer.
Pointthenailerinasafedirection whileattaching toair
hose.
Nailerisreadyforuse.You mayneed toadjustoutlet
pressuretoachieve properfastenerdepth.
