that blends qualit y and durability in an affordable package to m eet all of your labeling needs. This m anual

provides the inform at ion necessary t o operate and m aint ain the printer.

To begin printing labels or t ags, refer t o the inst ructions included wit h your software labeling program . For

your convenience, a Windows print er driver can be found on the Accessories CD- ROM, or it can be

downloaded from our website at ht t p: / / www.datam ax-oneil.com . (I f you wish to w rit e cust om program s or

label for m at s, a copy of t he Class Series 2 Program m er’s Manual also is included for your reference, or t he

m anual can be downloaded.)

2 .2 .1 Pow e r Conne ct ions

The pr int er is pow er ed by an ex t ernal aut o- r an ging pow er su pply , w hich connect s bet w een t he pr in t er and an

elect rical outlet . Ensure that the operating ranges of t he power supply are com pat ible wit h your elect rical

service, ( see Appendix A for det ails) then connect power as follow s:

Before connecting power t o t he printer, ensure that t he Power Swit ch is in t he OFF (O) position.

1) Connect t he Power Supply t o Power Jack of t he print er.

2) Connect t he AC Power Cord to t he Power Supply.

3) Connect t he AC Power Cord t o an Elect rical Outlet .

The USB Port supports high- speed serial com m unicat ions and requires a st andard USB int erface

cable.

Load m edia as follows:

1) Slide the Media Guides outw ard.

2) Slide t he Media Hangers outward and insert t he Roll Media as shown. Allow the Media Hangers to

ret ract and grasp t he m edia roll.

Load m edia for peeling ( if t he print er is equipped wit h t he opt ion) as follows:

When using the Peel Mechanism do not exceed a print speed of 4 I PS.

To ut ilize “ Tear m ode” w it h Peel and Pr esent Opt ion inst alled; m ove t he Peeler Door t o it s open posit ion.

1) Load m edia as descr ibed in Sect ion 2 .3, ( st eps 1- 3 ) .

2) Rem ove about 8 inches ( 200m m ) of labels from t he Media Backing.

3) Open the Peeler Door. Route the Media Backing over the Platen Roller and Peel Bar, and then

behind the Peel Roller and Peeler Door, as shown below.

4) Close the Peeler Door.

7) The printer will now peel each label and present it t o the operator for rem oval. The indicator light

will flash orange and t he next label will not feed/ print until the previous label is rem oved.

The printer will now cut each label as it exits from t he printer.

7) The print er will now peel each label and present it t o t he operator for rem oval.

I f t he pr int er is equipped wit h the Present Sensor Opt ion, t he indicat or light w ill flash orange and the

next label will not feed/ print until t he previous label is rem oved.

2) Push out t he Supply Hub and load t he Supply Roll into the print er as shown. Depending on t he

size of t he Supply Roll, t he Media Bouncer m ay need t o be pushed out of t he way.

3) Once t he Supply Roll is loaded, slide t he Ribbon Handler Lat ch dow nward t o unlatch t he Ribbon

Handler Assem bly.
