1. PRESENTATION
The boilers in the VIVADENS range are wall-hung gas condensation boilers, developed and sized for all types of installation. They are
innovative in their modern design and meticulous finish and particularly in their use of state of the art technologies which offer exceptional
performance combining comfort, energy savings and environmental friendliness.
MCR 24, MCR 24/28 MI, MCR 30/35 MI, and MCR 34/39 MI boilers are delivered fully assembled, fully equipped and ready for connection.
Preset to operate on natural gas H, the boilers can also operate on natural gas L and on propane after conversion (and assembly of a
conversion kit package HG31 for the MCR 34/39 MI model).

1.3 Control panel
1.3.1 Description and options
MCR boilers are fitted with a simple, user-friendly control panel.
The control panel is used for the ongoing adaptation of "heating" and "DHW" output to need.
The control panel includes the functions:
- antifreeze protection ;
- deblocking of the circulating pump every 25 hours ;
- a troubleshooting system with alarm code display.
The addition of optional equipment optimises the management of your heating installation:
- Room temperature thermostat option ;
- Wire-controlled or wireless programmable room temperature thermostat options ;
- Easymatic wire-controlled or Easyradio wireless remote control options with connection interface for controlling 1 direct circuit or 1
direct circuit with 1 mixing valve circuit ;
- Outside sensor option ;
- Domestic hot water sensor option for optimal management of DHW production.

1.4 Options for the control panel
Settable ambient thermostat (Package AD 137)
Wireless settable ambient thermostat (Package AD 200)

The programmable thermostats handle the regulation and weekly programming of heating by activating the
burner according to various operating modes: "Automatic" depending on programming, "Permanent" at a set
temperatureor"Holidays".The"wireless"versionisdeliveredwithareceiverboxtobeaffixedtothewallclose
to the boiler.
The non-programmable thermostat is used to regulate the room temperature depending on the instruction
given.
Easymatic communicating wire-controlled remote control (Package FM 50)
Easyradio communicating wireless remote control (Package AD 201)
To operate, these remote controls must be complemented by a boiler/remote control "interface" PCB
and an outside sensor.

The outside sensor can be used alone or in combination with room temperature thermostats or
communicatingremotecontrolsforheating regulation depending on theoutsidetemperature.Itis essential in
the case of an installation with circuit with mixing valve.
12 kΩdomestic hot water sensor (Package AD 226)
Thedomestic hotwatersensorisused forthepriorityregulationofDHWproductionusing anindependenthot
water tank. It is required particularly if connecting a BMR 80 or SR 130 tank available as optional equipment
for these boilers.

Affixed to thelowercover, the ratingplate indicates themaincharac-

Codes dF and dU on the rating plate should be input in parameters
PdF and PdU to restore the factory settings or if replacing the main
PCB. (See section 5, parameters).

2.4 Hydraulic specifications
2.4.1 Boiler pump
The boiler is fitted with a 2-speed pump, type Grundfos UPS 15-60 (MCR 24, MCR 24/28 MI)or UPS 15-70 (MCR 30/35 MI, MCR 34/39 MI).
The boiler can handle pump operation at full output in domestic hot water mode. For central heating mode, the pump is set to minimum output
by default. Pump output can be increased by setting parameter P21 to 1.

2.4.2 Expansion chamber
Theboilerisfittedasstandardwithan8-litreexpansiontank(Initialpressureoftheexpansiontank1bar).Thetotal water volumeisdetermined
according to the static height of the installation and for an average water temperature of 80°C (Outlet : 80°C; Return : 60°C).
If the water volume is greater than 100 litres or the static height of the system exceeds 5 metres, an additional expansion tank must be fitted.

1.1 Pump logic
In summer mode
-Inmode(domestichotwater)orwithEasymatic in #mode (Summer), the pump operatesduring the production of domestic hot water.
WithanEasymatic,thepumpshutsdownafterthepumpflowswitch-offdelay (Parameter14).Theheating/domestichotwaterreversalvalve
remains in the DHW position.
In winter mode
With room temperature thermostat
- The pump switches off 2 minutes after the contact of the room temperature thermostat is opened. After the production of domestic hot
water, if the room temperature thermostat is open, the pump switches off after 5 seconds and the heating/domestic hot water reversal
valve remains in the DHW position.
With Easymatic or Easyradio
- When the desired room temperature is not reached, the pump operates continually. When the room temperature is too high, the pump is
shut down after the pump switch-off delay (Parameter 14). If the room temperature is too high after domestic hot water production, the pump
shuts down after the pump switch-off delay; the heating/DHW reversal valve remains in the DHW position.
Boiler antifreeze protection
Antifreeze protection is always guaranteed, whatever the boiler operating mode.
If the temperature of the flow water is less than 7°C, the pump is activated.
If the temperature of the flow water is less than 3°C, the boiler is activated.
If the temperature of the flow water exceeds 10°C, the boiler is shut down and the circulating pump runs for a further 15 minutes.
1.2 DHW reheating
If a room thermostat, connected via connectors 7 and 8, is activated, the boiler will
operate permanently until it reaches the flow setting point.
This function is a protection device for the boiler only, not for the system or buiding
fabric.

1.3 Heating slope boiler only
P1 can be accessed by the user
The connection of an outside sensor is used to regulate the boiler according to the outside temperature.
4 parameters are used to set the heating curve:
- P1 sets the maximum flow temperature (adjustable from 20°C to 85°C). In example above: 75 °C.
- P27 sets the minimum flow temperature (adjustable from 0°C to 60°C). In example above: 20 °C.
- P28 sets the maximum outside temperature (adjustable from 0°C to 40°C). In example above: 20°C.
- P29 sets the minimum outside temperature (adjustable from 0°C to -30°C). In example above: -15 °C.

3. OPERATION
3.1 Boiler start-up cycle
- Turn the boiler on. The boiler launches the start-up program.
The display shows F XX: Software version (Example F1.2)
The display shows P XX: Parameter version (Example P1.0)
- Theboilerwill begin anautomaticventing-programm (which lasts approx.3minutes) and will dothiseverytime the powersupply is isolated.
The version numbers are displayed alternately.
- The display shows :
Error code
If the boiler does not operate normally, an error message is displayed (See section 4).
Diagram of the start-up cycle
The cycle cannot be interrupted (ex power cut).
The start-up cycle is followed by burner start-up, with the valve in heating position, for around 10 seconds, then by a shutdown for around 10
seconds.
After this, the cycle is liberated to switch to heating, DHW or shutdown depending on the request.
