Before installing the wireless mp3 doorbell kit, ensure that all parts are present. Compare the parts with the
Hardware Included and Package Contents sections. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble,
install, or operate this wireless mp3 doorbell kit.

1 Installing the doorbell batteries
□Push the battery cover tab toward the battery
cover (1) and pull to remove.
□Install 3 alkaline “C” batteries (not included)
into the doorbell (A). Ensure the batteries are
oriented correctly.
□Replace the battery cover (1) on the back of the
doorbell(A).
NOTE: In typical use, alkaline batteries will last up to
one year.

2 Removing the battery tab
□Remove the back of the push button (B) by
pushing in the tab on the bottom with a small
screwdriver (not included) and twisting it.
□Remove the orange battery tab from the push
button (B).

3 Testing the push button and
doorbell
□Temporarily position the push button (B) and
doorbell (A) where they will be mounted.
□Press the push button (B) to verify the
doorbell(A) and push button (B) work properly.
□If the doorbell (A) does not sound, move the
doorbell (A) closer to the push button (B) and
test again.
NOTE: Do not permanently mount the push button until
the push button and doorbell are working properly.
NOTE: The push button and doorbell come synced from
the factory. The range of the wireless doorbell can vary
with location, temperature, and battery condition.
4 Mounting the push button
Use either screws (AA) or double-sided tape (BB) to
mount the push button (B).
□To mount with screws (AA), remove the back of
the push button (B) by pushing in the tab on the
bottom with a small screwdriver and twisting it.
Place the push button (B) back on the door jamb
and mark the two screw holes. Drill two 1/16
in. (1.5mm) pilot holes. Attach with screws
(AA) and snap on the front of the push button
(B).
□When attaching the push button (B) with
double-sided tape (BB), remove the paper from
both sides of the double-sided tape (BB) and
apply to a clean surface.
NOTE: Remove material in screw holes (if needed) before
mounting with screws.
5 Mounting the doorbell
Use one of the screws (AA) to mount the doorbell (A).
□Determine mounting location.
□Drill one 7/32 in. (5.5 mm) pilot hole and insert
a wall anchor (CC).
□Insert the screw (BB) into the wall anchor(CC)
leaving about 1/8 in. (3.2 mm) of the screw
threads exposed.
□Hang the doorbell (A) on the screw (AA) using
the keyhole on the back of the doorbell (A).

Operation
1 Adjusting the doorbell volume
The doorbell (A) has an adjustable volume control.
Press and release the “VOL +” or “VOL –” button to
adjust the volume one step at a time.

2 Muting the doorbell
The doorbell (A) can be muted for a select period of
time: full-time, 3 hours, 6 hours, 9 hours, or 12 hours.
The mute icon will turn green each time it is pressed
to show the amount of time selected.
□Press and release the mute button on the front
of the doorbell (A) to select the amount of time
the doorbell (A) should be muted.
NOTE: The doorbell will flash the selected color each
time the push button is pressed whether the doorbell is
muted or unmuted.

3 Selecting the doorbell light
color
The doorbell (A) will blink whenever the push
button(B) is pressed. There are 7 preset colors to
choose from.
□Press and hold the “Light” button until the
doorbell (A) glows.
□While the doorbell (A) is glowing, press and
release the “Light” button to select the desired
color.
□Press the push button (B) to lock in the desired
color.

4 Adding MP3 tunes to the
doorbell
The suggested tune length is 2-15 seconds. The
maximum tune length is 20 seconds. If the tune is
longer than 20 seconds, only the first 20 seconds will
play. 16MB available MP3 space in total.
□Connect the USB cable (DD) to the doorbell (A)
and the computer.
□Locate and open the external drive folder.
□Drag the desired MP3 file to the doorbell (A)
drive.
□Disconnect (eject per computer operating
system) the doorbell (A) from computer.
□Remove the USB cable (DD).
IMPORTANT: The doorbell will not play when connected to the
computer.

Operation
5 Selecting a tune
The doorbell (A) allows you to customize your doorbell
sound with front door tunes. The doorbell (A) has ten
pre-loaded selectable “front door” tunes.
□Press and release the “Sync/Music” button
until the desired tune is heard.
□While the desired tune is playing, press the
push button (B) to lock in the selected tune.
NOTE: Each push button can be assigned its own unique
tune.
NOTE: To listen to the selected tune, press and release
the “Sync/Music” button.
NOTE: Doorbell is designed to work with up to 10
wireless push buttons (sold separately).

6 Setting the wireless push
button
The wireless push button (B) has two options for tune
selection: Play the selected “FRONT” door musical
tune or play the “REAR” door designated tune (“Ding”).
□Slide dip switch #2 inside the push button(B)
to the “OFF” position to play the selected
musical tune.
□Slide dip switch #2 inside the push button(B)
to the “ON” position to play only the Ding tune.

7 Synchronizing a new push
button with doorbell
The doorbell (A) can link up to 10 Defiant brand
wireless push buttons. All push buttons will play the
same selected tune for the "FRONT" push button (B).
Each "FRONT" push button can be assigned it's own
unique tune.
Press and hold the "Sync/Music" button on the
doorbell until the doorbell sounds a “Beep-Beep”.
□Press the push button within 10 seconds. The
doorbell will sound a “Beep-Beep” tone to
indicate the push button is synced.
□Press the push button to ensure operation.
NOTE: The push button and doorbell come synced from
the factory. The range of the wireless doorbell can vary
with location, temperature, and battery condition.

□Use a dry cloth to clean the doorbell and push button.
□Do not use cleaners or polishes.
□Do not use any fluids on the doorbell or push button.

Troubleshooting

not sound.
□The batteries are not in-
stalled correctly.
□Make sure the batteries are installed according to
the diagram inside the push button and doorbell.
□The batteries are dead. □Check the charge of the push button and doorbell
batteries and replace them if necessary.
□The push button and doorbell
are not synced.
□Sync the push button and doorbell:
□Press and hold the “Sync/Music” button on the
doorbell until the doorbell sounds a “Beep-
Beep”.
□Press the push button within 10 seconds. The
doorbell will sound a “Beep-Beep” tone to
indicate the push button is synced.
□Press the push button to ensure operation.
□The chime is muted. □Press and release the mute button until the green
light is turned off.
□Dip switch #1 in the push
button has been moved to
the “ON” position.
□Ensure dip switch #1 is in the “OFF” position in the
push button and follow the steps above to re-sync
the push button and doorbell.
The batteries
seem okay, but
the doorbell does
not work after
installation.
□The doorbell or push button
is mounted on metal or near
metal studs.
□Metal reduces transmission range. Use 1/4 in. to
1/2 in. (6 to 13 mm) wood shims to move the door-
bell or push button away from the metal surface.
□The doorbell is mounted near
a concrete floor or wall.
□Concrete may reduce range. Move the doorbell
away from the concrete surface.
□The doorbell and push button
are installed too far apart.
□Locate the doorbell closer to the push button.
The doorbell
sounds when not
intended (false
triggers).
□The doorbell is receiving
interference from another
wireless device.
□Reset the doorbell and push button:
□Remove the push button batteries. Wait 30
seconds.
□Press and hold the push button for 10 to 15
seconds within 60 seconds after installing the
battery into the push button.
□Press and hold the “Sync/Music” button on the
doorbell until the doorbell sounds a “Beep-
Beep-Beep-Beep”.
□To re-sync the push button and doorbell, press
and hold the “Sync/Music” button on the door-
bell until the doorbell sounds a “Beep-Beep”.
□Press the push button within 10 seconds. The
doorbell will sound a “Beep-Beep” tone to
indicate the push button is synced.
□Press the push button to ensure operation.

NOTA: No monte permanentemente el pulsador hasta que
el pulsador y el timbre estén funcionando correctamente.
NOTA: El pulsador y el timbre vienen sincronizados de
fábrica. El alcance del timbre inalámbrico puede variar con
el lugar, la temperatura y la condición de la pila.
4 Montaje del pulsador
Use tornillos (AA) o cinta doble faz (BB) para montar el
botón pulsador (B).
□Para montar con tornillos (AA), presione la
pestaña de la parte inferior del botón pulsador
(B) con un destornillador pequeño y retire la
parte posterior. Coloque la parte posterior del
botón pulsador (B) en la jamba de la puerta
y marque los dos orificios para los tornillos.
Taladre dos orificios guía de 1/16pulg. (1.5
mm). Fije con tornillos (AA) y coloque a presión
la parte delantera del botón pulsador (B).
□Al colocar el botón pulsador (B) con cinta doble
faz (BB), retire el papel de ambos lados de la
cinta doble faz (BB) y aplique en una superficie
limpia.
NOTA: Quite la suciedad de los orificios para tornillos (si
es necesario) antes de poner los tornillos.
5 Montaje del timbre
Use uno de los tornillos (AA) para montar el timbre (A).
□Determine el sitio para el montaje.
□Taladre un orificio piloto de 7/32 de pulgada
(5,5 mm) e inserte un anclaje de pared (CC).
□Inserte el tornillo (BB) en el anclaje
de pared(CC) dejando expuestas
aproximadamente 1/8 de pulg. (3,2 mm) de las
roscas del tornillo.

El timbre (A) tiene un control de volumen ajustable.
Pulse y suelte el botón “+” o “-” para regular el
volumen gradualmente.

2 Puesta en silencio del timbre
El timbre (A) se puede poner en silencio durante un
período de tiempo seleccionado: tiempo completo, 3
horas, 6 horas, 9 horas o 12 horas. El icono de silencio

computadora.
□Localice y abra la carpeta de la unidad externa.
□Arrastre el archivo MP3 deseado a la unidad
del timbre (A).
□Desconecte (expulsar por sistema operativo de la
computadora) el timbre (A) de la computadora).
□Retire el cable USB (DD).

5 Seleccione un tono
El timbre (A) le permite personalizar el sonido del

El pulsador inalámbrico (B) tiene dos opciones para
la selección de tonos: Reproduzca el tono musical
seleccionado de la puerta “PRINCIPAL” o el tono
designado para la puerta “DE ATRÁS” (“Din”).

Operación
7 Sincronización de un nuevo
botón pulsador con timbre.
Este timbre (A) se puede vincular hasta con 10
pulsadores inalámbricos de la marca Defiant. Todos los
botones reproducirán la misma melodía seleccionada
para el botón "FRONTAL" (B). A cada botón "FRONTAL"
se le puede asignar su propia melodía única.
□Mantenga pulsado el botón “Sync/Music” del
timbre hasta que suene un “bip-bip”.
□Presione el botón pulsador por 10 segundos.
El timbre emitirá un tono de "bip-bip" para
indicar que el botón pulsador está
sincronizado.
□Pulse el pulsador para garantizar el
funcionamiento.
NOTA: El pulsador y el timbre vienen sincronizados de
fábrica. El alcance del timbre inalámbrico puede variar con
el lugar, la temperatura y la condición de la pila.

de madera de 1/4 pulg. a 1/2 pulg. (de 6 a 13 mm) para
mover el timbre o el pulsadort lejos de la superficie de
metal.
□El timbre está mon-
tado cerca de un piso
o de una pared de
hormigón.
□El concreto puede reducir el alcance. Mueva el timbre de
la puerta lejos de la superficie de hormigón.
□El timbre y el pulsador
están instalados muy
separados entre sí.
□Coloque el timbre más cerca al pulsador.
El timbre suena
cuando no se
lo requiere
(activaciones
falsas).
□El timbre está reci-
biendo interferencia
de otro dispositivo
inalámbrico.
□Reposicione el timbre y el pulsador:
□Retire las baterías del botón pulsador. Espere 30
segundos.
□Mantenga presionado el botón pulsador entre 10 y 15
segundos por un periodo de 60 segundos luego de
instalar la batería en el botón pulsador.
□Presione y mantenga presionado el botón “Sync/Mu-
sic” [“Sincronizar / Música”] en el timbre hasta que el
timbre emita un pitido “bip-bip-bip-bip”.
□Para volver a sincronizar el pulsador y el timbre,
presione y mantenga presionado el botón “Sync/Mu-
sic” en el timbre hasta que el timbre emita un pitido
“bip-bip”.
□Presione el botón pulsador durante 10 segundos. El
timbre emitirá el pitido “bip-bip” para indicar que el
pulsador está sincronizado.
□Presione el botón pulsador para asegurar el funcio-
