PRECAUTIONS
□Please read and understand this entire manual
before attempting to assemble, install, or operate
this motion sensor.
□This motion sensor requires 120-volts AC.
□Some codes require installation by a qualified
electrician.
□This motion sensor must be properly grounded.
□This motion sensor should be installed outdoors to
a wall or eaves
□This motion sensor should be installed 8 ft. (2.4 m)
above the ground (If the motion sensor is mounted
higher than recommended, aiming the sensor down
will reduce the coverage area.)
□Do not leave the “ON-TIME” switch in the “TEST”
position. The frequent ON/OFF cycling of the light
fixture will reduce the life of the bulb
WARNING: Turn the power off at the circuit breaker or
fuse. Place tape over the circuit breaker switch and verify
power is off at the light fixture.
CAUTION: Keep the motion sensor at least 1 in. (25 mm)
away from standard PAR38 bulbs.
CAUTION: Keep the motion sensor at least 2 in. (50 mm)
away from halogen bulbs.
CAUTION: To avoid water damage and the risk of
electrical shock, the motion sensor controls must be facing
the ground when the installation is complete.
NOTICE: Do not connect this motion sensor to a dimmer switch
or timer.

This product is guaranteed to be free of factory defective parts and workmanship for a period of 2 years from date
of purchase. Purchase receipt is required for all warranty claims.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
This guarantee does not include repair service, adjustment and calibration due to misuse, abuse or negligence.
Any damage to the light fixture resulting from the use of chemicals or a pressure washer machine are not covered
by this warranty. Unauthorized service or modification of the product or of any furnished component will void this
warranty in its entirety. This warranty does not include reimbursement for inconvenience, installation, setup time,
loss of use, unauthorized service, or return shipping charges. This warranty is not extended to other equipment
and components that a customer uses in conjunction with this product. The manufacturer reserves the right to
discontinue products and to change specifications at any time without incurring any obligation to incorporate new
features in products previously sold.

Included and Package Contents sections. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install, or
operate this light fixture.

Installation
1 Determining the mounting
location
□Determine the mounting location – a wall or
under an eave.
□If needed, lift the motion sensor (A) up and
rotate it so the controls face the ground after
installation. Tighten the clamp screw when done.
Do not overtighten.
NOTE: If the motion sensor pops out of the ball joint,
loosen the clamp screw, push the motion sensor back
into the ball joint, and tighten the clamp screw. Do not
overtighten.

2 Installing the Motion Sensor
WARNING: Turn the power off at the circuit breaker or
fuse. Place tape over the circuit breaker switch and verify
power is off at the light fixture.
The WHITE motion sensor wire is neutral. The BLACK
motion sensor wire is hot. The RED motion sensor wire
is switched “hot”.
□Remove the existing light fixture.
□Route the motion sensor wires through the
canopy (1) of the existing light fixture.
□Screw the motion sensor (A) into the
canopy(1) of the existing light fixture.
3 Wiring the Motion Sensor
□Connect the motion sensor wires to the light
fixture wires and the junction box wires with
wire connectors (AA):
□White to white
□Black motion sensor wire to black junction
box wire
□Red motion sensor wire to black bulb
holder (2) wires
□Bare or green ground wire to house ground
and any light fixture ground wire or ground
screw, if present
□Follow the instructions that came with the
existing light fixture to mount and adjust the
light fixture.

Operation
1 Adjusting the Motion Sensor
CAUTION: Keep the motion sensor at least 1 in. (25 mm)
away from standard PAR38 bulbs.
CAUTION: Keep the motion sensor at least 2 in. (50 mm)
away from halogen bulbs.
CAUTION: To avoid water damage and risk of electrical
shock, the motion sensor controls must be facing the
ground when installation is complete.
□Turn the power on at the circuit breaker or fuse
and turn on the wall switch.
□Loosen the lock nut (3) and screw (4) to adjust
the motion sensor (A) for the desired coverage.
□Rotate the motion sensor (A) so the controls
face toward the ground.
□Raise the motion sensor (A) to increase the
detection distance.
□Lower the motion sensor (A) to decrease the
detection distance.
□Tighten the lock nut (3) and screw (4).
NOTICE: All clearances must be maintained. See Safety Information
on page 2.

2 Setting the Sensor for Testing
When the “ON-TIME” switch is set to the “TEST”
position, the light fixture will operate during the day
or night. The light will stay on for 5 seconds after all
motion is stopped.
□Set the “ON-TIME” switch to the “TEST”
position.
□Set the “DUALBRITE” switch to the “OFF”
position.
□Turn the “SENS” dial to the “HIGH” position.
□Aim the motion sensor (A) in the general
direction of the area to be covered.
NOTE: The motion sensor will need to completely warm
up (approximately 90 seconds) before beginning the setup
process.

3 Adjusting the Motion Sensor
Detection Zone
□Turn on the circuit breaker or fuse and the light
switch.
□Perform a “walk test”. Walk in an arc across
the front of the motion sensor (A).
□Watch the light. The light will come on and the
red LED will flash indicating motion has been
detected.
□Stop, wait for the light to turn off, and then
begin walking again.
□Continue this process until the detection zone
has been established.
□Adjust the sensor up, down, or side to side to
change the motion sensor (A) detection zone.
4 Adjusting the SENS Dial
□To increase the detection zone, turn the
“SENS” dial toward the “HIGH” position.
□To decrease the detection zone, turn the
“SENS” dial toward the “LOW” position.
NOTE: The motion sensor is more sensitive to motion
moving across the front of the sensor. The motion sensor
is less sensitive to motion moving directly toward the front
of the sensor.
NOTE: The higher the “SENS” setting (sensitivity), the
greater the possibility of false triggering. To reduce false
triggering, rotate the “SENS” control toward the “LOW”
setting.
5 Adjusting the ON-TIME Switch
The “ON-TIME” switch determines the amount of time
the light will stay on full bright after all motion has
stopped.
□Set the “ON-TIME” switch to the 1, 5, or 20
minute position.
6 Adjusting the DUALBRITE
Switch
The “DUALBRITE” switch determines the amount of time the lights stay
on at a reduced light level after sundown. Switching this setting to “OFF”
will not effect the “ON-TIME” setting.
Setting DualBrite to OFF will not allow the DualBrite feature to work
but the motion sensor will still turn on the light when motion present at
night time.
□Set to 6 hours to have low level ambient light for 6 hours after
dusk starts when there is no motion present. Feature will
inactivate after 6 hours or if sunrise comes first
□DualBrite will allow the low level ambient light to stay on until
motion is detected then the light will go FULL BRIGHT until
no motion is detected and the low level ambient light will be
re-activated

7 Using Manual Mode
NOTE: Manual mode overrides the motion sensor (C)
and “TIME” control so the light will operate full bright. This
feature only works at night and only for one night at a time.
The motion sensor (C) will reset to motion sensing mode
after 6 hours or sunrise, whichever comes first. Manual
mode can be toggled on and off using a wall switch.
□Ensure the power to the light is ON and the
sensor has warmed up (approximately 60
seconds).
□To turn manual mode on, switch the power
OFF–ON–OFF–ON at the wall switch within 3
seconds.
□To turn manual mode off, switch the power
OFF–ON–OFF–ON at the wall switch within 3
seconds.
Care and Cleaning
□To prolong the original appearance, clean with clear water and a soft, damp cloth only.
□Do not use paints, solvents, or other chemicals on this motion sensor. They could cause a premature
deterioration of the finish. This is not a defect in the finish and will not be covered by the warranty.
□Do not spray with a hose or power washer.

NOTE: If the power to the light fixture is off for more than
5 seconds, allow the motion sensor to warm up prior to
switching to manual mode.

Troubleshooting

□The fuse is blown or the circuit breaker

□Replace the fuse or turn the
circuit breaker on.
□Daylight turn-off (photocell) is in effect. □Recheck after dark.
□The circuit wiring is incorrect, if this is
a new installation.
□Verify the wiring is correct.
□The motion sensor is aimed in the
wrong direction.
□Re-aim the motion sensor
to cover the desired area.
□The outside air temperature is close to
the same as a person’s body heat.
□Increase the “SENS” set-
ting.
The light comes on during the
day.
□The motion sensor may be installed in a
relatively dark location.
□The motion sensor is oper-
ating normally under these
circumstances.
□The “ON-TIME” switch is in the “TEST”
position.
□Set the “ON-TIME” switch
to the 1, 5, or 20 minute
setting.
The light comes on for no
apparent reason.
□The motion sensor may be sensing
small animals or automobile traffic.
□Re-aim the motion sensor.
□The “SENS” dial is set too high. □Decrease the “SENS”
setting.
□The “DUALBRITE” switch is in the 6
hour.
□The motion sensor is oper-
ating normally under these
circumstances.
□The outside temperature is much
warmer or cooler than a person’s body
heat (summer or winter).
□Decrease the “SENS”
setting.
□The motion sensor is wired through a
dimmer or timer.
□Do not use a dimmer or
timer to control the motion
sensor. Replace the dimmer
or timer with a standard on/
off wall switch.

a heat source like an air vent, dryer
vent, or brightly painted, heat-reflective
surface.
□Decrease the “SENS”
setting or reposition the
motion sensor.
□The motion sensor is in manual mode. □Switch the motion sensor
to auto. See Using Manual
Mode on page 8.
□The motion sensor is wired through a
dimmer or timer.
□Do not use a dimmer or
timer to control the motion
sensor. Replace the dimmer
or timer with a standard on/
off wall switch.
□The motion sensor is on the same
circuit as a motor, transformer, or
fluorescent bulb.
□Install the motion sensor
on a circuit without motors,
transformers, or fluorescent
bulbs.
The lights flash on and off. □Heat or light from the bulbs may be
turning the motion sensor on and off.
□Reposition the bulbs away
from the motion sensor.
□Heat is being reflected from other
objects and may be turning the motion
sensor on and off.
□Reposition the motion
sensor.
□The motion sensor is in “TEST” mode
and warming up.
□Flashing is normal under
these conditions.

aparato de luz existente.

PRECAUCIÓN: Mantenga el detector de movimiento

2 Calibración del detector para
prueba
Cuando el interruptor de “DURACIÓN” (“ON-TIME”) se
fija en la posición “PRUEBA” (“TEST”) el aparato de luz
operará durante el día o la noche. La luz permanecerá
encendida 5 segundos después que todo movimiento
se ha detenido.
□Fije el interruptor de “DURACIÓN” en la
posición “PRUEBA (“TEST”).
□Fije el interruptor “DUALBRITE” en la posición
“APAGADO” (“OFF”).
□Gire el cuadrante “SENS” a la posición “HIGH”.
□Enfoque el detector de movimiento (A) en la
dirección general del área a ser cubierta.
NOTA: El detector de movimiento necesitará calentarse
completamente (90 segundos aproximadamente) antes de
empezar el proceso de puesta a punto.

□Observe la luz. La luz se encenderá y el LED
rojo destellará indicando que se ha detectado
movimiento.
□Deténgase, espere que la luz se apague, y
luego empiece a caminar de nuevo.
□Continúe este proceso hasta que la zona de
detección haya sido establecida.
□Ajuste el detector hacia arriba, abajo, o a los
lados para cambiar la zona de detección del
detector de movimiento (A).
4 Regulación del cuadrante SENS
□Para aumentar la zona de detección, gire el
cuadrante “SENS” hacia la posición “HIGH”.
□Para disminuir la zona de detección, gire el
cuadrante “SENS” hacia la posición “LOW”.
NOTA: El detector de movimiento es más sensible al
movimiento transversal a la parte frontal del detector. El
detector de movimiento es menos sensible al movimiento que
se dirige directamente hacia la parte frontal del detector.
NOTA: Mientras mayor sea la calibración del “SENS”
(sensibilidad), mayor será la posibilidad de falsas alarmas.
Para reducir las falsas alarmas, gire el control del “SENS”
hacia la calibración “LOW”.
5 Regulación del interruptor de
DURACIÓN
El interruptor de DURACIÓN determina el lapso de
tiempo que la luz permanece encendida con todo su
brillo luego que ha cesado el movimiento.
□Coloque el interruptor de DURACIÓN en la
posición 1, 5 o 20 minutos.
6 Regulación del interruptor
DUALBRITE
El interruptor “DUALBRITE” determina la cantidad de tiempo que las
luces permanecen encendidas en un nivel de luz reducido después de
la puesta del sol. Cambiar esta configuración a “OFF” no afectará la
configuración “ON-TIME”.
Configurar DualBrite en APAGADO no permitirá que funcione la función
DualBrite, pero el sensor de movimiento aún encenderá la luz cuando
haya movimiento durante la noche.
□Establézcalo en 6 horas para tener luz ambiental de bajo
nivel durante 6 horas después de que comience el anochecer
cuando no haya movimiento presente. La función se
desactivará después de 6 horas o si el amanecer llega primero
□DualBrite permitirá que la luz ambiental de bajo nivel
permanezca encendida hasta que se detecte movimiento,
luego la luz se volverá COMPLETAMENTE BRILLANTE hasta

7 Uso del modo manual
NOTE: El modo manual anula el sensor de movimiento
(C) y el control de “TIEMPO”, por lo que la luz funcionará
a plena potencia. Esta característica sólo funciona por
la noche y sólo para una noche a la vez. El sensor de
movimiento (C) se restablecerá al modo de detección
de movimiento después de 6 horas o al amanecer, lo
que ocurra primero. El modo manual puede activarse y
desactivarse mediante un interruptor de pared.
□Asegúrese de que la luz esté encendida y que
el sensor se haya calentado (60 segundos
aproximadamente).
□Para activar el modo manual OFF–ON–OFF–ON
el interruptor de pared en 3 segundos.
□Para desactivar el modo manual, OFF–ON–
OFF–ON el interruptor de pared en 3 segundos.
NOTA: Si la alimentación de la luminaria está
desconectada durante más de 5 segundos, deje que el
sensor de movimiento se caliente antes de cambiar al
modo manual.
Cuidado y limpieza
□Para mantener la apariencia original, limpie solamente con agua limpia y un paño húmedo y suave.
□No use pinturas, disolventes ni ningún otro químico en este detector de movimiento. Podrían ser la causa
de una prematura deterioración del acabado. Esto no es un defecto del acabado y no será cubierto por la
garantía.
□No rocíe con manguera ni con una lavadora eléctrica.
