cover, make surethat it

BATTERY OPERATION
Do not mix different types together (Alkaline, Carbon-
Zinc, Nickel Cadmium etc.), or old batteries with new
ones.
When the unit isnot being used fora long period oftime,
remove the batteriesto avoid damage frombattery
leakage and corrosion.
If battery leakage occurs,wipe the battery compartment
with a soft clothbefore inserting the newones.

The battery charge isshown at 4 levelsin the display.

POWER / BAND
When the batteries becomeweak, battery indicator flashes.
If batteries gettoo weak for properoperation, the unit
will automatically shut offwith special integrated circus.
Replace the batteriesimmediately to prevent memories
losing after the powerautomatically turns off.
Turn off theunit and then replacethe batteries with freshones
within 1 hour.
If the unit operates erratically, reset the unit bypress RESET
inside the battery compartmentto resume normaloperation.
Note that resetwill erase all ofthe memories including clock
setting.

TUNING IN TO A STATION
1. Manual Tuning
Press SCAN button(+ /- ) to tune into a clear
reception.
FM Step: 0.1MHz AM Step: 9KHz
Headphones cord functionsas antenna for theunit, plug
the headphone connector into earphone jack before
tuning, or you cannot tune in toany stations.
Manual tuning is more suitable for weaksignal broadcast.
When the receivingFM Stereo stationis strong enough
(and sound quality setto STEREO or BASS),Stereo
indicates in the display.
2. Quick Tuning
Keep SCAN button (+ / - ) presseduntil frequency indicator
changes, unit starts totune in to thestations automatically.When a
station is tuned in,scanning stops and thetuned station is heard.

Quick Tuningis more suitablefor strong signal broadcast,
it may not stopif broadcast signals are weak.
If tuning become slowly in a frequency range, try manual
tuning to see ifthere are someweak stations.
If there isa station you wish to skip duringscanning, press and
hold SCAN button(+ or- ) toskip this station.
Press SCAN (+ or- ) buttonwhile quick tuning, scanning
will stop immediately.

desired band.
Press MEMO to tunein to the preset
station of last operation.The frequency
and preset number showsin the display.
3. Listening toPreset Stations
There are 30memories, 20 assigned to FM with preset number
0...19 and 10assigned to AM with 0...9. Rememberall the preset
station numbers forthe convenience of later listening.
(Refer to page 9for information on presetting stations.)

SOUND QUALITY SELECTION
MONO: weak signal broadcast,voice program, mono broadcast.
STEREO: strong signal broadcast,music, FM Stereobroadcast.
BASS: strong music broadcast, bass stereo.
Set sound quality selection to different
position according to thereceiving broadcast.
MONO/ ST/ BASS
When listening to astereo broadcast, normallyset
MONO/ST/BASS to STEREO.
If you arelistening to the stereo music and prefer to a
bass effect, set theswitch to BASS.
If the stereoreception is tooweak or noisy, or you are
listening to voice program,set the switch toMONO.
Magnetic antenna inside theunit
functions as AMantenna, it is
strongly effected bythe reception
direction.
When listening toAM broadcast,
reorient the unit tofind the
position which gives thebest
reception.
AM Reception
1 Hour Power Auto off
After listening for 1hour, the unit automaticallyturns off toavoid
power wasting. If youwant to continue listening,turn on the unit.

Avoid usingearphones at high volume,if you experience a
ringing in your ears,reduce volume or discontinueuse.
Shut down the radiobefore sleeping.
Do not use earphoneswhile driving or cycling,it can also be
potentially dangerous to playyour earphones at highvolume
while walking, especially atpedestrian crossing.

Avoid exposureto temperature extremes, directsunlight, moisture,
sand, dust or mechanicalshock.
Should anything wrong withthe radio, please removethe battery
and have the unitchecked by qualified personnelbefore operating
it any further.
When the unit isnot being used fora long period oftime, remove
the batteries to avoiddamage form battery leakageand corrosion.
The LCD display maybecome hard to seeor slow down when
using the unit athigh temperatures (above 40C) or at low
temperatures (below 0 C).At room temperature,the display will
return to its normaloperating condition.
The product may notoperate normally, whenthe ESD (8kv) applied
on the metal coatedbuttons. It is necessaryto reset manually.
