Slide the battery lid.
Insert two AAbatteries
according to the polarity
direction as follow.
Snap down the lidof compartment.
When the sound becomesweak and distorted, please
reduce the volumeor replace thebatteries with new ones.
Replace the batteriesimmediately to preventmemories
losing after the unitturns off.
BATTERY OPERATION
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Turn off theunit, then replace thebatteries with new onesas
soon as possible.
Do not mix different types together(Alkaline, Carbon-
Zinc, Nickel Cadmium etc.), or old batteries with new
ones.
When the unit isnot being used fora long period oftime,
remove the batteriesto avoid damage frombattery
leakage and corrosion.
If replace the batterieswhen the unit ison or replacement time
lasts too long, memorieswill be lost andclock reset to0 00.
If battery leakage occurs,wipe the battery compartment
with a soft clothbefore inserting the newones.

AC ADAPT OPERATION
Plug the adaptor intoan AC poweroutlet.
Insert the adaptor's smallconnector plug into theDC JACK
marked on the unit(on the right sideof the unit).
Turn on theunit.
If the AC adaptoris connected whenregular batteries are
installed, the unitautomatically switches to the AC
adaptor power and thebatteries are notused.
Make sure thepolarity of the ACadaptor suits your unit
before plugging itinto the AC poweroutlet, the correct
mark is as follows:
External power supply canbe chosen from 3Vto 5V.

When power supply isweak, weak power indicator flashes,
meanwhile the unit worksdisorderly and the soundsbecomes
distorted. If you wantto continue listening, pleasereduce the
voice or replace thebatteries with new ones.
LOW POWER INDICATOR
Even if the voiceis low or inclock mode, weak power
indicator still flashes, pleasereplace the batterieswith
new ones immediately toavoid battery leakage.

It is useful toprevent:
1) Poweringon accidentally which can cause battery
wasted.
2) Reception being broken off unexpectedlywhile
listening.

When the unit isin lock status,
lock indicator appears inthe
display. None ofthe buttons
except LIGHT,MONO / STand
RESET will work.
LOCK FUNCTION
Slide the LOCK switch in the
opposite direction of thearrow
to unlock the controls.
Lock function preventthe unit from short,accidental
button press.
RESET
If the unit operateserratically, press RESET to resume normal
operation.
Note that reset willerase all of thememories including clock
setting.

ALARM
2. Alarm
Push ALARM ,LCD in alarm setmode for 3 seconds,after
then indicates in thedisplay, alarm functionis on and the
unit will turn onautomatically at the presettingtime.
Press POWER toturn off the unit after alarm set.As you can
see, still indicatesin the display, timer function isstill on.
Alarm set is availableonly one time.
Alarm clock setting: referto page 10.
Toturn off alarm function,please refer topage 11.
After listening, press POWER to
turn off theunit.

TUNING IN TO A STATION
1. Manual Tuning
Press SCAN button(+ /- ) to tune intoa clear
reception.
Manual tuning is more suitable for weak signal broadcasting.

2. Seek Tuning
Keep SCAN button (+ / - ) presseduntil frequency indicator
changes, the unit startsto tune in tothe stations automatically.
When a station istuned in, scanning stopsand the tuned stationis
heard.
Seek tuning is more suitable for strongsignal broadcast,
it may not stopif broadcast signals are weak.
If tuning become slowly in a frequency range, try manual
tuning to see ifthere are someweak stations.
If there isa station you wishto skip during scanning,press
and hold SCAN button(+ or- ) toskip this station.
Press SCAN (+ or- ) buttonwhile seek tuning, scanning
will stop immediately.

Press BAND to selectthe desired band.
Press memory button (M+/ M-) to tunein to the presetstation.
The frequency and presetnumber show in thedisplay.
There are 30memories, 10 each assignedto FM, MW, SW with
preset number 0...9.
(Refer to page 9for information on presetting stations.)

Youcan preset upto 10 stations undereach preset number(0-9)
on each band (FM,MW, SW):
Tune in toa desired station
with manual tuning, seek
tuning or direct entry.

Press store button M ,
"MEMO" flashes in the
display.
Press M+ or M- to
memorize the station.The
corresponding number will
indicate in the display.
If you can notcomplete step 3 and step 4 whilethe
indicator flashes, presettingis failed. You have to
repeat from step1.
If a station isalready stored, thenew station with the
same preset numberreplaces the oldone.
Press M button again.

2.Turn OffAlarm Function
Press HOUR(+) or MINUTE(-) to adjust the
alarm time whenALARM INDICATOR flashes.
Release all buttons, theunit enter alarm mode
after 3 seconds.
Press ALARM ,alarm time

Press ALARM again,alarm
function is cancelled.

You canpresent clock1 and clock2in 24 hour formatrespectively.

VOLUME CONTROL
Adjust volume using VOL , keep the volumeat a moderate
level.
LISTENING WITH EARPHONES
When listening to stereoreception,
normally use earphones andset
MONO / STEREO toSTEREO.
Speaker has MONO effectonly.

When listening to astereo reception,
normally set MONO /STEREO to
STEREO. If the stereoreception is too
weak or noisy, set the selectorto MONO.
MONO: weak signal broadcast,voice program, mono broadcast.
STEREO: strong signal broadcast,music, FM Stereobroadcast.
USING ANTENNA
Telescopic antennafunctions as FM antenna,
keep it extended andchange its length and
direction to find theposition which gives the
best reception.
Magnetic antenna inside theunit functions as MWantenna, it is
strongly effected bythe reception direction.
When listening to MWbroadcast, reorient the unitto find the
position which gives thebest reception.

Avoid usingearphones at high volume,if you experience aringing
in your ears, reducevolume or discontinue use.
Shut down the radiobefore sleeping.
Do not use earphoneswhile driving or cycling,it can also be
potentially dangerous to playyour earphones at highvolume while
walking, especially at pedestriancrossing.

Avoid exposureto temperature extremes, directsunlight,
moisture, sand, dust ormechanical shock.
Should anything wrong withthe radio, please removethe battery
and have the unitchecked by qualified personnelbefore operating
it any further.
Use only power sourcesspecified in this manual.
When the unit isnot being used fora long period oftime, remove
the batteries to avoiddamage form battery leakageand corrosion.
The LCD display maybecome hard to seeor slow down when
using the unit athigh temperatures (above 40C) or at low
temperatures (below 0 C).At room temperature,the display will
return to its normaloperating condition.
The product may notoperate normally, whenthe ESD (8kv) applied
on the metal coatedbuttons. It is necessaryto reset manually.
