WAXBURNER GLASS HOOD
Instructions for use
Glass hood for the
Indoor Waxburner
The Glass Hood makes the Indoor Waxburner windproof
and creates a stunning light feature. It is perfect for use on
your garden table, balcony or veranda, but the Waxburner
can also be used with the Glass Hood indoors.
The Glass Hood is made up of three parts: Ring base, glass
hood and lid for extinguishing. A Glass Hood is available to
match each Indoor Waxburner model.
The Glass Hood is handmade in Germany from high-quality
borosilicate glass. The brilliant glass reflects the vivid
frame and intensifies the effect of the light. Used with the
Glass Hood the Waxburner gives off a warm, romantic
light. The Glass Hood also prevents accidental contact with
the flame and keeps children and adults safe.
UNIQUE CERAMICS
SINCE 1964
Each Glass Hood comes with instructions for use. It is
important to follow these instructions when using the
Waxburner with Glass Hood. If you lose the instructions,
you can read them, request new ones or print them
out at www.wax-burner.com.
Set up & lighting
Put the ring base onto the Waxburner. You can now light
the Waxburner. The best way of doing this is by using a
conventional stick lighter. Then, put on the Glass Hood.
Vivid flame
Air ows in under the base ring and creates a vivid, moving
ame. The Glass Hood reects the light and increases its
brilliance.
Touching the Glass Hood when in use
If the Waxburner is working correctly, the glass will become
warm, but not hot. The glass might become hot if the
ame is too big. For safety reasons, only touch the glass
with a heatproof glove when in use. Sooty glass is a sign that
the ame is too high and / or that the wax is poor-quality.
You will then need to re-adjust the wick of the Waxburner
and / or change the wax. Please follow the procedure in the
instructions for using the Indoor Waxburner.
Extinguishing the flame
Place the lid supplied onto the opening of the base ring
to extinguish the ame. You can do this without removing
the Glass Hood.
Refilling & recycling leftover candles
The wax needs to be topped up regularly so that
the Waxburner doesn’t run out. To do so, extinguish the
Waxburner and remove the Glass Hood and the ring
base. The Waxburner uses more wax in strong winds so
normal burning time might be shorter.
Adding essential oils and insect repellent
If you add essential oils (e.g. our Anti-insect oil) to
the wax, the eect of the scent will be just as pleasant and
long-lasting as with a Waxburner used with the Glass Hood.
In rain and during winter
The Glass Hood does not protect against moisture
penetration. Water in the bowl can prevent the Waxburner
from working properly and cause damage in icy conditions.
The Waxburner and Glass Hood must be stored in a dry
place where they are safe from frost.
Cleaning
If required, the Glass Hood and the ceramic pieces can
be washed in the dishwasher or by hand using washing-up
liquid.

Safety information &
instructions for use
• Only use candle wax in the Waxburner. The safe function of your Waxburner
depends on the quality and ingredients of the wax used. You can nd tips in
our candle guide at www.wax-burner.com/service
• The Waxburner must be positioned on a secure, even surface during use.
• Only move the Waxburner when it is not in use and the wax has hardened.
• The wax becomes hot and runny during use, and can cause injuries if it
comes into contact with the skin.
• The Glass Hood can become hot during use, resulting in a risk of burning.
• Please do not allow children to play with the Waxburner.
• Keep the Waxburner away from highly ammable, heat-sensitive,
scratch-prone objects.
• Do not leave the lit Waxburner unattended.
• Extinguish the ame if you are going to be leaving it.
• Only use the Waxburner if it is protected from rain and water. The lid will
not prevent rainwater from getting in.
• The ceramic is frostproof as long as there is no water in the bowl.
• Extinguish the Waxburner if the ame becomes sooty, if there is an
unpleasant odour or if the Glass Hood becomes hot. This could be because
the wick is adjusted incorrectly, has become stuck together or because the
wax is poor quality. Solutions to problems are described in the instructions
for the Indoor Waxburner ( www.wax-burner.com ).
