Introduction (はじめに)
Thank you for choosing SMAClock Module for SATA [Part Number: AB14-CLKSMA] (“Clock Module” in
this manual.) The Clock Module generates 150MHz differential clock source for SATAreference clock, and
connects with SMA reference clock input connector on AC-701 Artix-7 evaluation board from Xilinx.
The Clock Module output clock signal is DC-coupled LVDS signal to enable direct connection with
J25/J26 on AC-701 board. Because J25/J26 (node name is SMA_MGT_REFCLK in AC-701 schematic) is
direct input of SY89544UMG (from Micrel) and this clock multiplexor device input must be DC-coupled
when related VT pin is left open, so that DC-coupled 150MHz reference clock input is necessary for SATA
operation.
With this Clock Module and AB09-FMCRAID together with AC-701, user can try SATA-IP demo
operation provided from DesignGateway and can build prototype system for Artix-7 SATA application
development.
この度は SATA 用SMA クロック・モジュール [型番：AB14-CLKSMA] (以下、クロック・モジュールと略します)を
ご採用頂き誠にありがとうございます。 本クロック・モジュールは SATA リファレンス・クロック用の 150MHz 差動ク
ロックを生成し Xilinx 製Artix-7 評価ボード AC-701 のSMA クロック入力と接続できます。
本クロック・モジュールは DC 結合された LVDS 信号出力であり、AC-701 基板の J25/J26 コネクタに直接接続し
ます。 AC-701 のJ25/J26 SMA コネクタ（AC-701 回路図にて信号名 SMA_MGT_REFCLK）は Micrel 製クロッ
ク・マルチプレクサの SY89544UMG の入力となりますが、このチップの VT ピンがオープンである AC-701 基板に
おいて SATA 実機動作を検証する場合は、DC 結合した LVDS レベルの 150MHz SATA リファレンス・クロックを供
給しなくてはなりません。
本クロック・モジュールと DesignGateway 社製 AB09-FMCRAID をAC-701 基板と合わせて使うことで、ユーザ
はDesignGateway 社の SATA-IP 実機評価を行うことができ、また Artix-7 デバイスによる SATA アプリケーショ
ン開発の試作システムを構築することが可能となります。
Module Appearance (モジュール外形)
The Clock Module appearance is shown in figure-1 below.
Two SMA to SMA (plug-plug) adapters are attached with this board.
本クロック・モジュールの外形図を Figure-1 に図示します。 オス-オスタイプの SMA アダプタが２本添付されます。

Connection to AC-701 (AC-701 ボードへの接続方法)
Figure-2 below shows connection between Clock Module and AC-701. Connect two SMA adapters with
J25 and J26 on AC-701. 5V-power supply cable must connect with pin#1 of J54 on AC-701. Note that J53
on AC-701 should mount jumper socket. As AC701 schematic in the left side of figure-2, 5V power is
supplied to pin#1 of J54 via J53, so that power cable can supply 5V for clock module.
本クロック・モジュールの AC-701 ボードへの接続方法を Figure-2 に示します。 ２つの SMA アダプタは AC701 の
J25 および J26 と接続します。 モジュールで必要な 5V 電源供給用のリード線は AC701 上にある J54 ピンヘッダ
の1ピンと接続してください。 また、AC701 のJ53 にジャンパ・ソケットが挿入されていることを確認してください。
Figure-2 左側回路図の通り、J54 の1ピンは J53 を通して 5V が供給されるので、リード線を経由してクロック・モジ
ュールに 5V を供給します。
