Dickson MM120 User manual

Quick Start
back of the unit.
Unit is now on.
Place the thermistor probe(s) with glycol bottle in
the monitoring location
Mount the indicator using the included Velcro.
Indicator can also be wall mounted via Keyhole in
back of unit.
Allow glycol bottle(s) to normalize before turning
on alarm. (Wait approximately 1 hour)

Your Instrument Includes:
a. MM120 Temperature Indicator with Alarm,
1 Thermistor Probe Sealed in a Glycol Bottle,
2 AA Batteries, 3 Sets Velcro and Certificate of
Calibration
b. MM125 2 Channel Temperature Indicator with
Alarm, 2 Thermistor Probes sealed in
Glycol Bottles, 2 AA Batteries, 4 Sets of Velcro
and Certificate of Calibration.

Alarm Thermometer
Your MM120-125 default settings:
All dip switches in down position
Alarm: Off

Change Defaults
b. Display will change reading and display new
unit of measure.
Display Update:
a. Slide toggle switch on the back of the unit to
either Fast (up) or Standard (down).
b. Standard = 5 Minute Sample Rate; Fast = 1
Minute Sample Rate.

Alarm:
a. Slide toggle switch on the back of the unit to
either Alarm On (up) or Alarm Off (down).
b. When the alarm is turned on the alarm symbol
will appear on the display.
Unit of Measure:
a. Slide the toggle switch on the back of the unit
to either deg. F (down) or deg. C (up)

Min/Max
b. The Min/Max readings will display the current
temperature until next reading is taken.
Powering off the unit resets stored min/max
values.

Min/Max readings are always displayed.
To reset Min/Max readings:
a. Hold down the Clear button (on the front of
the unit) until CLR shows on the display. CLR
will display while clearing min/max.

Setting Alarm High/Low
b. CH1 and LOW will flash on the display.
c. Using the UP and DOWN buttons on the back
of the unit, set the target low temperature for
channel 1.
d. Once the target temperature has been set,
Press and release the Alarm Set button again to
set CH1 / HIGH.
e. Repeat steps a – d above to toggle through
CH1/LOW, CH1/HIGH, CH2/LOW, CH2/HIGH
(CH2 MM125 only).
Note: If no buttons have been pressed after 15 seconds,
the unit will exit Alarm Set mode and will save all new
settings.
The most common alarm settings have been preset
for each channel:
a. MM120
i. Channel 1: +34 (low) & +47°F (high)
(refrigerator)
b. MM125
i. Channel 1 (top probe): -20 (low) & +6°F
(high) (freezer)
ii. Channel 2 (bottom probe): +34 (low) &
+47°F (high) (refrigerator)
To change the presets:
a. Press and release the Alarm set button on the
back of the unit.

Clearing Alarm Conditions
Alarm Notification
a. If the alarm is not on (dip switch is down), the
display will flash if the temperature moves into
alarm range.
Note:
If no alarm notification is desired, change alarm
settings to high/low outer range limits (Low=
-58 deg F, High= 158 deg F)
b. Once the temperature moves out of alarm
range, press and hold the clear button until CLR
is displayed to reset

When the unit enters alarm mode:
a. The Audio Alarm will sound for 30
seconds
b. The alarm symbol will flash, and the out of
range high or low reading will flash.
c. If no action is taken to clear the alarm, the
audio alarm will beep 2x every 5 minutes and
the display will continue to flash until the clear
button is pressed. This condition will continue
even if the temperature returns to normal.
Clearing an Alarm
a. Press the clear button to temporarily stop the
audible alarm. The display will continue
flashing. If the alarm condition still exist, the
unit will sound again once the sample rate
period has passed.
b. Once the unit moves out of the alarm condition,
press and hold the Clear button until CLR is
displayed. This will reset the alarm and stop
the flashing on the display.
