Digisol RANGER SERIES User manual

Users can verify Wireless Repeater status from the LED indicators on the
front panel. Below given is the LED description.
LED Color LED Status Description
Steady ON Good signal reception
(signal strength 100% ~ 50%).
Blinking
Normal signal reception
Slow blinking (50% ~ 25%)
Poor signal reception
Quick blinking (<25%)
Signal Amber
OFF Out of signal or disconnected or LED off
mode.
Blinking
Connect to wireless Router or AP, wireless
function is active (transferring or receiving
data)WLAN Green
OFF Wireless network is switched off or LED OFF
mode.
Steady ON
Power is turned on.
In LED OFF mode. (Power LED is on, other
LEDs are off *)
*If user selects to enable “LED OFF mode”,
power LED On/Off depends on user’s
selection, user can select to leave only power
LED on or turn off all LEDs including this
power LED.
Slow Blinking Ready for “Reset to factory default”, power
LED is blinking.
Power Green
OFF Power is turned off.
Steady ON When WPS connection is successful, LED is
steady ON for 5 minutes.
Blinking
WPS is in progress waiting for another WPS
device’s connection, blinking (0.2 seconds
ON, 0.1 seconds OFF) for 2 minutes.
Quick blinking WPS error, blinking (0.1 second ON, 0.1
second OFF)
WPS Green
Off NO WPS is in progress/ LED OFF mode
Steady ON LAN port is connected.
Blinking LAN port is active (transferring or receiving
data).
LAN Green
OFF LAN port is not connected/ or LED OFF
mode
WPS button
WPS LED
Signal LED
Software Installation:-
ØInsert the Setup CD into your CD-ROM drive of
notebook/desktop computer.
ØExplore the CD and execute the “APWizard.exe” file.
Screen given below will be displayed. Click ‘Next’ to
continue.
ØCo nnect on e end of the netw ork cable to the LAN po rt on
the repeate r and the other end to the PC’s Ethernet port.
Power on the repea ter an d ensure that all the LED’s on
the repeater are on. Click ‘N e x t’ to continue .
ØEn ter the repeater’s passw ord to login to th e rep eater.
Th e defa ult passw ord is “1234”. It is recom m en de d to
ch ange the re pe ater’s password to pro tect it from b eing
accessed by oth er users. If you do not wish to c ha nge th e
cu rren t p as sw ord , y ou c an le av e “N ew P ass w ord” a nd
“C on firm N ew P ass w ord ” fie ld s b la nk . C lick ‘L o g i n ’ to
co ntinu e.
AP Mode
Note : Till the log in, the utility configuration procedure is
the same for AP mode, Repeater mode and client mode.
Below are the instructions for the respective modes after
the login is done.
ØConfigure the SSID and Channel Number. Click ‘Next’ to
continue.
ØConfigure the wireless security settings. Then click
‘Next’.
ØVerify the settings you have configured and click
‘Restart’.
ØThis will take 60 Seconds. Then Press ‘OK’.
Once you click on OK, a system restart screen will appear which
will also take 60 seconds.
ØClick ‘Finish’ to complete the installation.
ØClick on ‘Site Survey’, “Wireless Site Survey” window will
appear. Select the wireless router or AP you wish to
connect and click ‘Connect’, or enter your wireless
network’s SSID manually. Click ‘Next’ to continue.
Repeater Mode
ØTo configure Root AP’s SSID Click on ‘Site Survey’, a
“Wireless Site Survey” window will appear. Select the
wireless router or AP you wish to repeat and click
‘Connect’. Next, configure a network name in Main SSID
for the repeater to be identified.
ØConfigure the wireless security settings. Then click
‘Next’.
ØVerify the settings you have configured and click
‘Restart’.
ØThis will take 60 Seconds. Then Press ‘OK’.
Once you click on OK, a system restart screen will appear which
will also take 60 seconds.
ØClick ‘Finish’ to complete the installation.
Client Mode
ØClick on ‘Site Survey’, “Wireless Site Survey” window will
appear. Select the wireless router or AP you wish to
connect and click ‘Connect’, or enter your wireless
network’s SSID manually. Click ‘Next’ to continue.
ØConfigure the wireless security settings. Then click
‘Next’.
ØVerify the settings you have configured and click
‘Restart’.
Note: Next, Follow the same step to restart the repeater as done in
previous two modes and click finish to complete the installation.
Congratulations! Your Repeater Installation is now finished.
