Polarization- This video product isequipped with a polarized alternating
-current line plug. This plugwill fit into the poweroutlet, try reversing
the plug. If the plug still fails to fit,contact your electrician to replace
your obsolete outlet. To preventelectric shock, do not usethis polarized
plug with an extension cord,receptacle, or other outlet unlessthe
blades can be fully insertedwithout blade exposure. If youneed an
extension cord, use a polarizedcord.
Power Sources- This video productshould be operated only fromthe
type of power source indicatedon the marking label. Ifyou are not sure
of the type of powersupply to your home, consultyour video dealer or
local power company. For videoproducts intended to operate from
battery power, or other sources,refer to the operating instructions.
Overloading- Do not overloadwall outlets or extensioncords as this can
result in a risk offire or electric shock. OverloadedAC outlets, extension
cords, frayed power cords, damagedor cracked wire insulation, and
broken plugs are dangerous, Theymay result in a shockor fire hazard.
Periodically examine the cord, andif its appearance indicated damageor
deteriorated insulation, have it replacedby your service technician.
Power-Cord Protection- Power-supply cords shouldbe routed so that
they are not likely tobe walked on or pinchedby items placed upon or
against them, paying particularattention to cords at plugs,convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit fromthe video product.
Ventilation- Slots and openings inthe case are provided forventilation
to ensure reliable operation ofthe video product and toprotect it from
overheating. These openings must notthe blocked or covered. The
openings should never be blockedby placing the video producton a
bed, sofa, rug, or heatregister. This video product shouldnot be placed
in a built-in installation suchas a book case orrack, unless proper
ventilation is provided or thevideo product manufacturer's instructions
have been followed.
Attachments- Do not use attachmentsunless recommended by the video
product manufacturer as they maycause hazards.

product and accessory equipment.Please read them carefully
before operation and usingyour video product.
Installation
Water and Moisture- do notuse this video product nearwater for example,
near a bath tub, washbowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement,or
near a swimming pool andthe like. Caution: Maintain electricalsafety.
Powerline operated equipment oraccessories connected to thisunit should
bear safety certification mark onthe accessory itself and shouldnot be
modified so as to defeatthe safety features. Thiswill help avoid any andshould
not be modified so asto defeat the safety features.This will help avoid any
potential hazard from electrical shockor fire. If in doubt,contact qualified
service personnel.
Accessories- Do not place thisvideo product on an unstablecart, stand, tripod,
bracket, or table. The videoproduct may fall, causing seriousinjury to a child or
adult as well as seriousdamage to the video product. Use this video product
only with a cart, stand,tripod, bracket, or table recommendedby the
manufacturer's or sold withthe video product. Any mounting of the product
should follow the manufacturer's instructionsand use of a mountingaccessory
recommended by the manufacturer.
A video product and cartcombination should be moved withcare. Quick stops,
excessive force, and uneven surfacesmay cause the video productand cart
combination to overturn.
Note to CATV system installer
This reminder is provided tocall the CATV system installer'sattention to
Section 820-40 of the NECwhich provides guidelines for propergrounding
and, in particular, specifies thatthe cable ground shall beconnected to the
grounding system of the building,as close to the pointof cable entry as
practical.
Outdoor Antenna Grounding- Ifan outside antenna or cablesystem is
connected to the video product,be sure the antenna orcable system is
grounded so as to providesome protection against voltage surgesand built-up
static charges. Section 810 ofthe National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA No.70-
1984 (Section 54 of CanadianElectrical Code, Part1) providesinformation with
respect to proper grounding ofthe mast and supporting structure,grounding
of the lead-in wire toan antenna-discharge unit, connection togrounding
electrodes, and requirements for thegrounding electrode.
Power Lines-An outside antenna systemshould not be located inthe vicinity of
overhead power lines, otherelectric light or powercircuits, or where itcan fall
into such power lines orcircuits. When installing an outsideantenna system,
extreme care should betaken to keep fromtouching or approaching such
power lines or circuits, ascontact with them might befatal. Installing an
outdoor antenna can be hazardousand should be left toa professional
antenna installer.
Use
Cleaning- Unplug this video product from the wall outlet before cleaning.
Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
Objects that may touch dangerous voltage points or "short-out" parts could result in
a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the video product.
Lightning-For added protection for this video product during a lightning storm, or
when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the
wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to
the video product due to lightning and power line surges.
Service
Servicing-Do not attempt to service this video product yourself, as opening or
removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all
servicing to qualified service personnel.
Conditions Requiring Service-Unplug this video product from the wall outlet and
refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
A. When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.
B. If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the video product.
C. If the video product has been exposed to rain or water.
D. If the video does not operate normally by following the operating instructions.
Adjust only those controls that are covered by operating instructions.
Improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often
require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the video product
to its normal operation.
E. If the video product has been dropped or cabinet has been damaged.
F. When the video product exhibits a distinct change in performance-this
indicates a need for service.
Replacement Parts-When replacement parts are required, have the service
technician verify that the replacements he uses have the same safety characteristics
as the original parts. Use of replacements specified by the video product
manufacturer can prevent fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
Safety Check-Upon completion of any service or repairs to this video product, ask the
service technician to perform safety checks recommended by the manufacturer to

Remove the batterycompartment cover.
Load two AAA(UM-4 or R03) batteries into the
battery compartment.
Make sure thatthe batteries have been inserted
in the correctpolarities matching to the symbols
+, - markedin the battery compartment. Close
the battery compartmentcover.
When replacing batteries,replace both batteries.
Do not mixnew and used batteries operating
together, otherwise, theoperation lifetime will
be much shorterthan normal.
Remove the batteriesif the unit will not beused
for a prolongedperiod of time.
Remote control
The remote controltransmits a directional
infrared beam. Besure to aimthe remote
control directly atthe infrared sensor of the
unit during operation.
If the sensorhas been coveredor there isa
large object betweenthe remote controland
the sensor, thesensor will notrespond.
The sensor maynot able toreceive the
remote signal whenit is exposedto direct
sunlight or astrong artificial light (fluorescent
or strobe light).In this case, change the
direction of thelight or repositionthe unit to
avoid direct lighting.

Connecting to the TV aerial
There are manydifferent types ofTV/VCR and otherequipment that youcan
connect to theSTB.In this manual you will see some of the most common
ways to connectyour equipment.
General
You can connectthe STB tothe following typeof aerials:
Standard outdoor aerial
Please note thefollowing:
In some blockof flats, the roof-mounted aerial systemincludes a filter and
channel selector. Ifso, the aerial may not workwith the STB. Please consult
the landlord.
Many older roof-mountedaerials may onlyreceive a limitednumber of chan
nels. As aresult, digital channelstransmitted on higher frequencies are
difficult or evenimpossible to receive.The problem canbe solved by
replacing the roofaerial.
Some outdoor aerialsare directed towardsan analogue transmitter.
The aerial mustbe directed towardsa digital TV transmitter.
It is notalways advisable toposition the aerialas high aspossible. If
problems arise, experimentwith different aerialheights.
Indoor and windowmounted aerials
It is notadvisable to use indoor or windowmounted aerials, as digital channels
will be difficultor even impossible to receive.

Connecting to the TV with SCART
Scart cable
Antenna
Remove the aerial lead from your TV and connect this to the TV AERIAL input socket on the STB.
Connect a SCART cable between the main SCART socket on the TV and the TV SCART
socket on the STB.
Switch on your TV, plug in and switch on your STB.
You may need to select the AV ( SCART ) channel on your TV to watch Digital TV. In some cases your
TV will automatically select this channel when the STB is switched on.

Connecting a HiFi system
You can connectan RCA/Cinch single cable from theDIGITAL AUDIO socket on the
STB to aHiFi system equipped with digital audioinput. This output is also usedfor
connection to anexternal Dolby digital decoder.

Remove the aerial lead from your TV and connect this to the TV AERIAL input socket on the STB.
Connect a SCART cable between the TV SCART socket on the video and the AUX SCART socket on
the STB.
Connect a SCART cable between the main SCART socket on the TV and the TV SCART socket on
the STB.
Switch on your TV, plug in and switch on your STB.
On your VCR there should be an A/V select button. This should be selected to record Digital TV.
You may need to select the AV ( SCART ) channel on your TV. In some cases your TV will not automatically select
this channel when the STB is switched on. Press "DTV/VCR" button on the remote control can switch to VCR
signal.

GETTING STARTED
WELCOME PAGE
Switching on
Turn on your TV set and select the SCART input (with the AV key, or simular, on the television
remote control).
Turn on the main power supply to the STB, the indicator on the front of the unit will turn
red and then green. In standby mode, the indicator light will be red. In working mode,
the indicator light will be green.
If you use the STB the first time or after you delete all channel information in the STB,the
"WELCOMOE PAGE" picture for quick shortcut menu will display .

OPERATION
Subtitle
Press Subtitle button to switch subtitleOn/Off.

Press to page up for the picture ,channel list ,favorite list and other text information.
Press to page down for the picture ,channel list ,favorite list and other text information.
The volume level of the STB can be altered with the "Left" or "Right" cursor button on the
remote control.
Volume Control
NOTE
The volume level selected will remain set, even when the receiver is turned off and on again,
until it's altered.
You can silence the sound from the receiver by pressing the "MUTE" button . The
sound remain muted until the "MUTE" button is pressed again, the "LEFT" or "Right"
cursor button is
pressed, or until the receiver is turned off and on again.

Soundtrack language
You can press the "AUDIO" button to select different audio modes among STEREO,
LEFT, RIGHT, MONO.
Some Programmes are broadcast in two or more language simultaneously. The soundtrack
language can be selected or by pressing the "LANG" button on the remote control.

Press the "FAVOURITE" button to open up the "FAVOURITE LIST".
Press "LEFT" or "RIGHT" cursor button to select the desired favourite

Switching between TV
and Radio mode
You can switch between Digital TV mode and Radio mode by pressing "TV/RADIO" button .
NOTE
Radio function is not available in Germany.
From the technical point of view it is possible to receive radio via DVB-T.
The german government decided to keep the standard DAB Signal.

Channel
Channel list
There are four ways of channel selection - stepping through the channel list,
selection by number, from the on-screen channel list, and using the electronic
programme guide(EPG).
Stepping through the channel list:
To move through the channel list, press the upward arrow or downward arrow
key on the remote control.
Selection by number:
Enter the channel list number directly by remote control to select desired channel.
auto scan will clean the channels that stored first.
manual scan don't clean the channels,but it will not add the repeated channels that
have stored.
Selection by on-screen channels list:
You can also select the required channel directly from on-screen channel list. This is
displayed using the STB's main menu.

You can also select the required channel directly from electronic program guide (EPG).
Like the channel list, the EPG screen displays a list of the stored channels along with
information on what programmes are being broadcast.

favorite group,the mark will be cancel too.
Press "EXIT" button to quit Favorite setup and return to Channel list menu.

In "Edit Channel" menu, press numeric button "1" can make
a delete mark in the right side of the highlighted channel. After save
and exit "Edit Channel" menu, the marked channel will be
deleted.
Press "1" again to cancel delete channel.
Skip:
In "Edit Channel" menu, press numeric button "2" can make
a skip mark in the right side of the highlighted channel. After
save and exit "Edit Channel" menu, the marked channel will
be skip while you change the channel in full screen.
Press "2" button again to cancel the skip channel .
Lock:
In "Edit Channel" menu, press numeric button "3" can make a lock mark in the right
side of the highlighted channel. After save and exit "Edit Channel" menu, the marked
channel will be locked.STB will request you to input the password while you want to watch
the locked channel.
