
1. Remove the cap from meter
2. Press ON/OFF button
3. Press and hold HOLD/MODE until the setting shows mS at
the top left of your meter. NOTE: This is the 2nd setting
from the left
4. Open one ready-to-use liquid calibration packet (CP-1000).
NOTE: If using the C1000 calibration solution, you will
need to ll a small cup to submerge the tip of the meter
5. Submerge the tip of the meter into the CP-1000 packet of
calibration solution
6. Press and hold TEMP/CAL while tip is submerged until it
begins ashing, then release
7. Using arrow keys, adjust the meter until it reads 2.0 then
press ON/OFF. NOTE: The meter will start ashing
C…CA…CAL when calibrating
8. When ashing stops meter should read 2.0

How to Calibrate Your Meters
COM-80 (EC Meter)
1. Remove the cap from meter
2. Press POWER/ENTER button
3. Press and hold HOLD/MODE until the setting
shows mS at the bottom right
4. Open one ready-to-use liquid calibration packet (CP-1000).
NOTE: If using the C1000 calibration solution, you will need to ll a small cup
to submerge the tip of the meter
5. Submerge the tip of your meter into the CP-1000 packet of calibration solution
6. Press and hold TEMP/CAL while submerged until it begins ashing,
then release
7. Using arrow keys, adjust the meter until it reads 2.0 then press
POWER/ENTER. NOTE: The meter will start to ashing C…CA…CAL
when calibrating
8. When ashing stops meter should read 2.0
Your meter is calibrated and ready to use
Once your meter is calibrated:
1. Press ON/OFF to turn your meter on
2. Make sure your meter is set to the mS setting
3. Submerge the tip into a cup with clear water and record the reading
4. Remove meter from water and shake excess water off
5. Submerge meter in a cup with fertilizer solution and record the reading
6. Take the recorded reading in step 3 (clear water EC) and subtract it from the reading you
recorded in step 5 (fertilizer solution EC)
7. The result is the amount of fertilizer in the output
8. Compare this result to the back of your fertilizer bag
NOTE: You should compare the result to the value in the EC Value column for desired PPM
