only. If the intercom is wired to a positive ground system, no
harm will be done to the unit, “Reverse Polarity Protection” has
been incorporated into the design. See instruction #3 for instal-
lation for positive ground systems.
Installation Instructions
After unpacking the intercom system, you will notice that both
units are connected by a five-wire cable. This was done so that
the user, when installing the intercom, can cut the five-wire
cable at any spot desired to fit their particular application. After
you have located the best spot for mounting the master unit in
the cable, and the station unit in the rear, then cut the five-wire
cable.
Note:
Motor Noise - Route the intercom cable on top of the floorboard
to the rear compartment. This should eliminate all motor noise.

Operation Instructions
Note:
Every time the ignition is turned off then back on, the master unit will
default to the “Stand By” position green light.
Before operatingyour new intercom, study the front panels on both
units. You will notice that the master unit front panel reads: “Stand
By/Radio”, “Monitor”, and “Talk”. The station unit front panel reads:
“Talk” and “Monitor”.
After you have famillarized yourself with both units, you are ready to
use your intercom. Turn on the ignition switch. To monitor the rear with
the master unit activate by pressing “Monitor”.Ared light comes on. If
monitor function is not wanted, press the “Stand By” button. At this
point, if the rear unit wants to communicate with the master unit, the
“Talk” button on the station unit has to be pressed only once. This
automatically puts the master station in monitor position. If the master
Always connect the black to the ground first. (No need to
have this unit switched off as the amount of current draw is
relativly small and will not run down the battery.) The inter-
com units have built-in reverse polarity protection and
connecting incorrectly at the time of installation will not cause
a malfunction in the unit. The only noticible effect is that the
intercom will not work, but the back ligting will light up even if
the intercom is hooked up in reverse polarity. If this happens,
reverse the leads. The intercom can be used in vehicles
where the battery positive is connected to the frame. For
positive ground installations, connect the black wire to the
hot battery circuit, and the red wire to the frame.
Strip the red wire that comesfrom the back of the master unit
and hook the red wire to the positive side of the ignition
switch.
This step is optional and is to be completed if the intercom is
going to be used with the radio. Strip and connect the brown
wire from the master unit to one of the radio speaker connec-
tions at the main radio. After connection is complete, turn on
the cab radio. If loss of volume into radio is apparent, revers-
ing the connection to the other speaker will have to be made.

station desires to call the rear, just push and hold the “Talk”
button while speaking. Release the button to monitor the rear
station unit.
Radio Instructions (Optional)
If the radio feature is installed, the station can be used to
monitor the front radio.
1. The master unit must be in stand by position.
2.
No Radio:
If the intercom works, but you have no radio through the station
unit, change the brown wire to the other connection on the main
radio speaker. If still no radio is heard, put the brown wire to the
high side of the main speaker (the ungrounded terminal) and
check the brown wire going to the station unit for a break or bad
connection.
Note:
Since the radio sound does not go through the intercom ampli-
fier, if the “Talk” function work satisfactorily, but there is no
radio, the intercom is not at fault. The installation should be
checked as above for breaks or shorts to the frame. If a discon-
nected plug is used, make sure to check that all wires are
connected securely and are connected color to like color.
The monitor button, on the station unit, must be pressed to
hear the radio. The radio will always be canceled when any
communication between master unit and station unit occur.
If this happens, step 1 and 2 must be repeated to the moni-
tor the radio again. Master Unit
