TIGER MOTH 120 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
SPECIFICATIONS
Wing Span: 1920mm
Length: 1580mm
Radio: 4 channel with
6 servos
Flying Weight: 4200g

1
AILERON ASSEMBLY
Start by removing the servo cover from the bottom of the lower wing panel.
Locate the servo mounting blocks in the parts bag.

AILERON ASSEMBLY (CONTINUED)
Place your servo on the servo cover and when satisfied with the fit,
CA glue the mounting blocks in place. Taking care not to glue your
servo to the mounting blocks.

AILERON ASSEMBLY (CONTINUED)
Install a servo extension (not provided) to your servo and place the
assembly into the wing, using the guide string to pull the extension
through the wing. Use four 3x8mm screws to secure the assembly
to the wing.
Repeat the Aileron Assembly Step 1 for the other lower wing panel.
2Locate the hardware for the aileron push rod assembly and assemble
and install as per the photo. Trim the push rod as needed. At this time
CA glue the aileron hinges.

3
FUSELAGE ASSEMBLY
Locate the two holes in the bottom rear of the fuselage and carefully
remove the covering material.
Locate the horizontal stabilizer and remove the material as you did with
the rear fuselage.

FUSELAGE ASSEMBLY (CONTINUED)
Using the inside servo mount as a guide, cut the material on each side
of the rear fuselage for the servo installation as shown.
Install two servo extensions (not provided) to 2 servos for mounting into
the rear of the fuselage sides for controlling your elevators.

FUSELAGE ASSEMBLY (CONTINUED)
Locate the vertical stabilizer and the two mounting screws from the hardware
package. Place the screws in the bottom rear holes of the fuselage and push
the screws into the hole until it passes through the stabilizer saddle.

4
FUSELAGE ASSEMBLY (CONTINUED)
Mount the horizontal stabilizer onto the fuselage stabilizer saddle. Passing
the mounting screws through the stabilizer with the leading edge of the
stabilizer being curved to match the curve in the fuselage. Mount the vertical
stabilizer onto the mounting screws and snug the screws.
5With the fuselage on a flat and level surface, measure the distance from a
center point at the firewall of the fuselage to the outer edge of the horizontal
stabilizer on both sides. When both sides are equal, tighten the screws.
6With the fuselage on a flat and level surface, measure the distance at both
tips of the horizontal stabilizer to your building board. Adjust to achieve
equal distances. Now, with the horizontal stabilizer level, square the vertical
stabilizer, making sure you have equal distance from the tips of the horizontal
stabilizer to the tip of the vertical stabilizer. Tighten the screws, being careful
not to over tighten (if at this time you wish to make your stabilizers
permanent, use a few drops of thin CA to glue the pieces together.)

7
TAIL WHEEL ASSEMBLY
Locate the tail wheel assembly in the hardware package and shape
it as shown in the photo.
Using four 2x8mm screws, mount the tail wheel assembly to the rear
of the fuselage, being careful to center the assembly.

TAIL WHEEL ASSEMBLY (CONTINUED)
Drill a hole into the bottom of the rudder to actuate the tail wheel as shown
in the photo.
8
SERVO HARDWARE SETUP
Install the actuator hardware for both elevator servos, as shown in the photo.

9
UPPER WING CABANE INSTALLATION
Locate on the inside tank area the three pre-drilled holes and with a pin,
punch through the covering material.

UPPER WING CABANE INSTALLATION (CONTINUED)
Lay out and mark the cabane pieces, as shown in the photo.
With a flat file or sandpaper, taper the edges of the cabane tabs so that
the cabanes slide onto the tabs with ease.

10 Attach the lower cabanes to the fuselage sides with 1/4" sheet metal
screws provided in the hardware package. Do this for both sides.
11 Use the 1/2" machine screws and lock nuts to fasten the upper wing
center section to the cabanes. On the rear cabane, fasten the guide
wire bracket to the upper cabane. Do this for both sides.

12
LOWER WING ASSEMBLY
Carefully cut out the servo wire and wing bolt holes as in the left photo.
Mount the guide wire tabs near the leading edge of the lower wing, as in
the photo on the right.
13 Locate the outer wing struts and as in the previous step, with the upper
wing, prepare the tabs to accept the struts. Use 1/2" machine screws and
lock nuts to secure the struts in place. On the bottom and top of the struts,
install the guide wire tabs.

LOWER WING ASSEMBLY (CONTINUED)
14 Assemble the lower wing on the fuselage and measure the guide wire
length. Use the aluminum crimps to fasten the wires to the tabs. Pull
the wires snug, but not tight, and crimp the ends of the aluminum crimps.

15
LANDING GEAR ASSEMBLY
On the bottom of the fuselage, locate the landing gear holes and cut out
carefully. Set the landing gear into position and secure in place with the
hardware provided. Now is the time to glue the landing gear fairings in place.

16
COCKPIT INSTALLATION
Locate the cockpit floors and install using the hardware provided.
17 Locate the instrument panel decal and install at this time also.

18
COCKPIT INSTALLATION (CONTINUED)
Lay out the windshields and the rubber combing. The thinner pieces are
for the windshield and the thicker pieces are for the cockpit edges. Use
a rubber base glue like “RC 56” to clue the pieces to the windshield and
cockpit edge. When dry, fasten to the cockpit with the 1/4" screws provided
in the hardware package.
19
MOTOR INSTALLATION
On the front of the firewall, you will find the center lines for the motor mount.
Re-trace these lines to make it easier to line up your mounts.

20
MOTOR INSTALLATION (CONTINUED)
Mount your engine to the motor mounts as shown in the photo. Check that
the center line on the engine aligns with the center line on the firewall.
Drill the firewall for the motor mount using the blind nuts and machine
screws in the hardware package to fasten the mount to the firewall.

21
MOTOR INSTALLATION (CONTINUED)
Place the engine cowl on the fuselage positioning the cowl so at least 1/8"
of the engine extends through the front of the cowl.
Mark and measure where your exhaust pipe or muffler will exit the cowl
and make cutouts carefully. When satisfied with the fit, screw the cowl
to the fuselage.
