DrawmerhavegonetogreatlengthstomaketheSpeakerProtector tamper-proof by incorporating the lockingmechanismonthe front. However,iftherearof the unit, alongwiththe
poweramplifier,were reconnected, byanengineer/dj trying togainmorelevel,then the protectionsystemwould effectivelybebypassed.For this reasonDrawmerhavedesigned the
SpeakerProtectorTamper-proofBracket-trapping theXLR’sinplaceandmakingit extremely difficulttodisconnect themwithoutremovingthebracket.Thisbracketcouldbe specified
inorderto conform to Local Authority noiseabatementregulations.
Installationof the Tamper-proof bracket couldnotbesimpler:
After setting up the SP2120 Speaker Protector as described in the manual,
withtheXLR’sin place, simply slide theTamper-proofBracketoverthe rear of
theunit,making sure that theprotrudingcableslocate through the gaps on the
bracket.Next,screwintoplaceatthefourlocatingpoints(arrowed)usingthe
M3 screws provided. Further protection can be gained by fitting M3 TORX
tamperproofscrews,toamaximum lengthof 6mm, though aspecialist
screwdriverwillalso berequired.
Inaddition,forextra protection,boththeSP2120andthepowerampshouldbe
locked in arack, where access to the rear is very difficult.
You should note that the Tamper-proof bracket is only available for SP2120’s
who’sserialnumberis0845 orhigher(September2006).Onolder versionsthe
bracket could be retro- fitted, though this would invalidate any warranty that
Drawmerhasprovidedfor theSP2120.Alternatively,Drawmercould bringyour
SP2120upto currentDrawmerspecification-pleasecontactyourlocaldistributor
