CONSEILS D’UTILISATION
Ce guide n'a pas la prétention d'être un manuel du parfait utilisateur du fauteuil roulant mais a pour but de vous décrire certaines techniques qui vous permettront de profiter au mieux de votre fauteuil. En
outre, celles ci vous donnent la possibilité de vaincre les divers obstacles rencontrés dans la vie quotidienne.
CONSEILS D'ORDRE GENERAL ET D'HYGIENE
votre fauteuil doit faire objet d'un nettoyage régulier selon les conseils décrits dans les pages suivantes. Dans
le cas d'un stockage prolongé, il est préconiser de nettoyer le fauteuil avant son utilisation, de même qu'entre
chaque location.
POUR UNE MEILLEURE STABILITE
Votre fauteuil roulant a été élaboré pour rester stable lors de vos activités quotidiennes normales, dans la
mesure où vous ne déplacez pas votre centre de gravité à l'extérieur de la surface délimitée par les quatre
points d'appui du fauteuil. Vous devez ainsi toujours maîtriser le bon équilibre de votre fauteuil afin d'optimiser au
mieux sa stabilité et sa manipulation. Lorsque vous entreprendrez des activités qui déplacent votre corps, il
est préférable d'utiliser des sangles de maintien pour plus de sécurité.
MONTER UNE PENTE
Incliner le corps en avant.
Bien prendre en considération la configuration du terrain des trous, des changements de niveaux,
l'inclinaison de la route sont susceptibles de déstabiliser le fauteuil.
DESCENDRE UNE PENTE
Incliner le corps en arrière.
Avoir toujours le contrôle du fauteuil à l'aide de la main-courante.
Comme pour monter une pente, la configuration du terrain est à prendre en compte.
FRANCHIR UN OBSTACLE
Dans un premier temps, il faut se positionner face à l'obstacle. Passer les roues AV puis les roues AR. Attention au basculement vers l'arrière. Il existe un kit pour déporter les roues arrière vers l’arrière, en
option.
FAUTEUIL IMMOBILE : SE PENCHER EN AVANT
Nous sommes ici dans une configuration de stabilité statique.
Pour se pencher en avant, s'assurer d'abord que les freins soient bien verrouillés.
Veiller à ce que les roues avant pivotantes soient le plus loin possible (pour une meilleure stabilité).
Ne pas adopter de position extrême.
Ne pas s'appuyer sur les palettes repose-pieds.
FAUTEUIL IMMOBILE : SE PENCHER EN ARRIERE
L'arrière du fauteuil doit être le plus près possible de l'objet à saisir. Eviter de vous pencher trop en arrière.
Ne pas verrouiller les freins, il est préférable de reculer que de basculer.
Rechercher la meilleure stabilité du fauteuil.
FAUTEUIL IMMOBILE : BASCULEMENT LATERAL
Afin d'éviter les problèmes de stabilité statique, vous devez adopter des positions appropriées.
Attention au dévers car au-delà d'une pente de 7° le fauteuil risque de basculer.

SECURITÉ ET ENTRETIEN
ATTENTION : dans le cadre d’une réparation ou d’un changement de configuration, toutes les pièces intervenant
dans la modification doivent être d’origine DUPONT et compatibles avec le fauteuil.
NORMES DE SECURITE
Il est nécessaire de toujours verrouiller les deux freins manuels lorsque vous sortez ou entrez dans votre fauteuil.
Vérifier l’état des freins et la pression des pneumatiques le cas échéant.
Il est totalement déconseillé pour des raisons de sécurité :
- d’arrêter un fauteuil roulant en déplacement par les freins manuels car ce ne sont pas des freins de ralentissement.
- d’emprunter un escalier roulant pour déplacer le fauteuil d’un étage à un autre.
Il est important de respecter les normes de gonflage.
Attention : compte tenu des diverses parties mobiles de votre fauteuil, il existe des zones de
pincement (accoudoir, potence, repose-jambe, crémaillère, frein...). Y porter une attention
particulière lors de leur manipulation, jusqu’à y être parfaitement familiarisé.
Attention : ne pas vouloir porter le fauteuil par les 2 reposes-jambes.
REGLAGE DES FREINS
Pour tout changement de configuration concernant les roues
arrière, penser à adapter les réglages des freins.
ALe réglage des freins s’effectue par serrage des écrousA, puis
par déplacement du bloc frein vers l’avant ou l’arrière selon la
position et le type de roue arrière.
ENTRETIEN REGULIER
Les freins
: vérifier l’état du patin et le jeu de fonctionnement.
La boulonnerie : tous les serrages doivent être suffisants mais sans excès, afin d’éviter toute détérioration des
tubes ou tout blocage des parties mobiles.
Roues AR et roues AV : l ’état des bandages et la pression des pneus doivent faire l’objet d’une attention
particulière.
Attention : l’utilisation de votre fauteuil équipé de pneus sous gonflés ou sur gonflés présente un risque.
Pression des pneumatiques :

Mains-courantes : vérifier l’état de leur revêtement, de leur rugosité et leur bonne fixation.
Appui-bras : vérifier l’état des garnitures.
Protection des surfaces : nettoyer les chromes avec un chiffon humide ou un produit pour chrome.
Par mauvais temps, retirer la boue qui se trouve sur le fauteuil et sur toutes les pièces mobiles en général.
Nettoyage des tissus = utiliser régulièrement de l’eau savonneuse pour le nettoyage basique. Pour les
tâches, utiliser un détachant non abrasif.

MONTAGE ET REGLAGE DES REPOSE-JAMBES
- Poser les pontets sur les tubes horizontaux A
- Sélectionner la position désirée (parmi les quatres disponibles) sur la
platine avant (1 bis)
- Engager fermement les guides de la plaque d’assise dans les encoches
sélectionnées auparavant.
- Veillez alors à ce que les pontets arrière de la plaque d’assise se trouvent
derrière les tubes horizontaux pour que la plaque soit immobilisée.
- Enlever le coussin d’assise de son plastique et positionner le sur la
plaque. Les bandes Velcro assurent son immobilité.
- Dévisser au préalable les vis
traversantes Bde façon à libérer
complétement le passage dans le tube.
- Enfiler le dossier en positionnant les 2
crosses dans les tubes verticaux.
- Resserer les vis Bet leurs contre-écrous
(clé Halen 8 mm et clé plate 13 mm).
SORTIR TOUS LES ÉLÉMENTS DU FAUTEUIL DE LEURS CONDITIONNEMENTS.
OUVERTURE DU CHÂSSIS
Après l’avoir sorti du carton, ouvrir le châssis en appuyant avec les deux mains sur un des deux tubes horizontaux de
l’assise (exercer une force vers le bas) Ne pas essayer en appuyant sur les deux côtés du fauteuil à la fois.

MANIPULATIONS BASIQUES DU FAUTEUIL
INCLINAISON DU DOSSIER
Le dossier est inclinable jusqu’à 50° grâce aux crémaillères bi-latérales.
En inclinaison maximale et sur le sol plat, le fauteuil ne basculera pas vers l’arrière grâce
aux positions naturelles des grandes roues arrière.
Si le centre de gravité de l’utilisateur est déporté vers l’arrière pour diverses raisons
(patient amputé, utilisateur du fauteuil sur sol incliné ou irrégulier). Il est indispensable de
mettre en place le kit de déport des roues arrière (8 cm, voir schéma ci-contre).
BÉQUILLAGE DÉ-BEQUILLAGE
Pour mettre les béquilles (voir photo 10)
Appuyer sur les béquilles Qavec le pied et les amener au contact du sol.
Tirer le fauteuil vers l’arrière les béquilles se verouillent automatiquement en position de
sécurité grâce aux encoches prévues à cet effet.
Pour enlever les béquilles (voir photo 11)
Appuyer avec le pied sur les manettes noires Ret pousser le fauteuil en avant (un côté
après l’autre).
Remettre les béquilles à l’horizontale au contact des broches inférieures du fauteuil.
CAS DE TRANSFERT LATÉRAL DU PATIENT
Si l’état du patient le permet, il est possible de faciliter le transfert latéral en esquivant les
obstacles physiques pour cela :
Béquiller le fauteuil
Enlever la roue à démontage rapide du côté du transfert (en appuyant sur le centre du
moyeu et en tirant simultanément).
Escamoter l’accoudoir.
 Enlever le repose-pied
Escamoter le cale-tronc si nécessaire.
Toujours transférer en positionnant le dossier du fauteuil
verticalement.

Le coussin peut également tourner sur 360° autour du pivot P1.
Dans le cadre d’un transfert latéral ou pour libérer le tronc du
patient, il suffit de désengager la bague C1de Cen la levant
légérement pour escamoter l’ensemble du cale-tronc. Il n’est pas
nécessaire de dévisser les platines T.

KIT DOUBLE MAIN-COURANTE
Sa mise en place est identique à celle du kit déport des roues arrière (voir
inclinaison du dossier page 7).
Toujours préciser à la commande du fauteuil, de quel côté doit se trouver
la double Main Courante.
Les positions des freins doivent alors être revues (voir page 5) “Sécurité
et entretien”. Le frein du côté invalide sera équipé d’un levier d’extension
escamotable pour les transferts.
Garantie d’une durée de 2 ans sur la structure mécanique.
Cette garantie correspond à un emploi normal du fauteuil et exclu toutes les avaries dûes à un mauvais usage ou un
entretien défectueux.
La garantie ne s’applique pas au matériel réparé ou modifié sans l’accord du constructeur.
La garantie ne couvre pas l’usure normale des matériaux et des pièces.
Les emballages et les ports restent à la charge du fournisseur final.
Notre garantie ne peut en aucun cas donner lieu à des dommages et intérêts directs ou indirects.
Ce matériel DUPONT (garanti dans les conditions fixées ci-dessus), a satisfait aux essais

This guide is to enable you to take full advantage of the many features of the Modulo Comfort Wheelchair. The Modulo Comfort is an aid to living providing comfort, reliability and flexibility.
GENERAL HYGIENE ADVICE
It is highly recommended that your chair is regularly cleaned. Cleaning advice appears in the following pages.
If a chair is stored for some time the wheelchair should be cleaned before use. For hire purposes the wheel-
chair must be cleaned between hire periods.
FOR BETTER STABILITY
Your wheelchair will be perfectly stable under normal operating conditions. Users should use the four optio-
nal seating positions only.
HOW TO GO UP A SLOPE SELF PROPELLED

TO BEND FORWARDS IN A STATIONERY WHEELCHAIR
Firstly check that the brakes are fully on and locked into place
Lean forward from the seated position making sure that the footrests are not used. If in doubt please ask for

TO GET SOMETHING FROM BEHIND A STATIONERY WHEELCHAIR
Get as close as possible to the object that you want to get. Do not lock the brakes and manoeuvre yourself
backwards to get as close as possible. Do not attempt to tip yourself back in the chair. If in doubt please ask

TO BEND SIDEWAYS IN A STATIONARY CHAIR.
Lean sideways out of the chair, but no more than 7% from the seated position. If in doubt ask for assistance

WARNING : Please note that all parts that are fitted as a modification or as part of a repair must be original

SECURITY PRACTICES
Always lock the brakes when getting out of the wheelchair and when getting into the wheelchair. Make
regular checks that the brakes are in good working order. Check tyre pressures if air tyres are fitted.
- Never stop the wheelchair when moving by applying the brakes
- Never use the chair on an escalator
- Be aware of the body supports and make sure that no part of the body is uncomfortably trapped or pin-
ched by the supports.

ADJUSTMENT OF THE BRAKES
If the rear wheels are changed for any reason always check that
the brakes are working well and adjust if necessary.

blocks forward or backwards taking into consideration the type of
wheels fitted
Always check the level of air in air filled tyres and castors.
Always check that the air in the tyres is at the correct pressure
Tighten the nuts A.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE

Every fitted bolt must be fitted tightly but not so tight that there could be damage to the tubes or any of the
locking and moving parts
Rear wheels and castors that are air filed must be checked regularly
Using the wheelchair with incorrect air pressure in the tyres could be dangerous

Cleaning your chair : Clean all chrome with a wet cloth or a proprietary chrome cleaner
Clean the chair when it has been used outside and remove any debris, such as mud etc.,
The fabric on the chair should be cleaned with warm soapy water. Stubborn stains can be removed with a
non-abrasive stain remover, suitable for a vinyl surface.

- Put the black positioning knobs in the required slots
- Make sure the back metal upturned hooks of the seat base are locked into posi-
tion behind the metal horizontal tubes and that they are securely fitted by sliding
the seat base backwards.
- Fit the seat cushion onto the seat base deepest part at the back. Velcro will keep
the cushion in place

ADJUSTMENTS OF THE COMPONENT PARTS OF THE WHEELCHAIR
INCLINE OF THE BACKREST
The backrest can be reclined by 50° using the two levers underneath the push handles.
When the backrest is in the full reclining position the wheelchair is so balanced that there
is no possibility that the chair will fall backwards because of the natural positions of the big
rear wheels.
If the user’s gravity is effected for any reason such as amputation please contact Dupont
or its agents to obtain an extension kit so that the wheels can be moved back in the
correct position (see diagram of the kit opposite).
TO PUT THE WHEELCHAIR ON TO THE SUPPORT STANDS
To apply the support stands (see photo 10)
Press the stands Qwith your foot doing one stand first followed by the other stand and
push the stands to the ground. Pull the chair backwards. The stands automatically lock into
position.
To take the support stands off (see photo 11)
Press the black levers Rand push the wheelchair forwards one side and then the other
side. With your foot push the stands horizontally up until they touch the chair.
To move a patient from the wheelchair
If the patients health state allows, it is possible to make a transfer easy by following the
method below :
Put the safety stands down and make sure they are locked into position
Take the quick release wheel off (from the side of the chair that you want to take the
patient from). To take the wheel off press the silver knob in the centre of the hub and
pull the wheel at the same time.
Lift and detach the arm rest.
 Lift and detach the foot rest.
Lift and detach the thoracic support.
The back rest should always be in the upright position for patient transfer.

Put it into place exactly like the one used for rear wheels (see incline
of the backrest page 14)
Please specify when ordering the one arm drive kit which side of the
chair the kit should be fitted for. Instructions for fitting come with the
kit.
The positions of the brakes must then be altered (see page 12)
“Security and maintenance”. The brake on the disabled side will be
equipped with a detachable lever for transfers.
The Modulo Comfort wheelchair is guaranteed for two years.
This guarantee covers only normal use of the chair and excludes any damage that is caused by misuse or by
improper maintenance.
The guarantee does not apply to component parts fitted to the chair that are not original equipment supplied
by Dupont or its agents.
The guarantee does not include normal wear and tear.
All packing and carriage are chargeable.

ALLGEMEINE HYGIENEHINWEISE
Wir empfehlen, den Stuhl unbedingt regelmäßig zu reinigen. Reinigungshinweise finden Sie auf den folgenden
Seiten. Wenn der Stuhl für längere Zeit gelagert wird, sollte er vor erneuter Benutzung gesäubert werden.
Beim Einsatz als Leihstuhl muss der Rollstuhl bei jedem Benutzerwechsel gereinigt werden.
FÜR BESSERE STABILITÄT
Ihr Rollstuhl wird unter normalen Nutzungsbedingungen perfekte Stabilität bieten. Bitte achten Sie darauf,
dass nur die vier optionalen Sitzpositionen genutzt werden.
BEWÄLTIGUNG EINER STEIGUNG (bei Eigenantrieb)
Neigen Sie den Körper nach vorn. Prüfen Sie immer die Beschaffenheit des Weges auf Erhebungen und
Vertiefungen und achten Sie auf Schlaglöcher und unebene Untergründe, die Ihren Rollstuhl destabilisieren
könnten.
BEWÄLTIGUNG EINES ABHANGS (bei Eigenantrieb)
Neigen Sie Ihren Körper nach hinten. Prüfen Sie immer die Beschaffenheit des Weges (wie oben) und nutzen
Sie den Antriebsring am Hinterrad.
BEWÄLTIGEN VON HINDERNISSEN
Fahren Sie immer extrem langsam mit den Fronträdern über das Hindernis. Stoppen Sie und bewältigen Sie
dann das Hindernis mit den Hinterrädern. Bitten Sie im Zweifel um Hilfe oder versuchen Sie eine andere
Route zu finden.
NACH VORN BÜCKEN IM STEHENDEN ROLLSTUHL
Prüfen Sie bitte zuerst, dass die Bremsen fest und korrekt angezogen sind.
Lehnen Sie sich aus Ihrer Sitzposition nach vorn und stellen Sie sicher, dass die Fußstützen nicht genutzt
werden. Fragen Sie im Zweifel nach Hilfe.
GEGENSTÄNDE AUS DEM STEHENDEN STUHL GREIFEN
ACHTUNG : Vermeiden Sie jedes extreme Neigen des Oberkörpers (nach vorn, hinten oder zur Seite),
besonders beimAufnehmen schwerer Gegenstände. Es besteht die Gefahr, dass der Rollstuhl kippt oder sich
überschlägt.
Manövrieren Sie den Stuhl so nah wie möglich an den Gegenstand, den Sie greifen möchten heran.

SICHERHEITSMAßNAHMEN
- Ziehen Sie die Bremsen an, wann immer Sie in den Rollstuhl steigen oder ihn verlassen. Überprüfen Sie
regelmäßig die Bremsfunktion sowie den Luftdruck, falls Luftbereifung genutzt wird.
- Stoppen Sie den fahrenden Rollstuhl niemals durch Anziehen der Bremsen.
- Nutzen Sie den Rollstuhl niemals auf einer Rolltreppe.

EINSTELLUNG DER BREMSEN
- Wenn die Hinterräder aus irgendeinem Grund ausgewechselt
werden, überprüfen Sie immer, dass die Bremsen richtig arbei-
ten und stellen Sie sie gegebenenfalls wieder richtig ein.
- Zur Einstellung der Bremsen lösen sie die Muttern A, bewegen
den kompletten Bremsblock vor oder zurück - entsprechend dem
angebrachten Rad - und ziehen dann die Muttern A wieder an.
- Kontrollieren Sie immer den Luftdruck bei luftbereiften Hinter-
und Fronträdern.
REGELMÄßIGE INSTANDHALTUNGSMAßNAHMEN
Die Bremsen : Überprüfen Sie Bremsen und Bremsklötze in regelmäßigen Abständen.
Die Schrauben : Jede angebrachte Schraube muss fest angezogen sein, jedoch nicht so fest, dass die
Rohre durch die schließenden und beweglichen Teile beschädigt werden können.
Warnung : Luftbereifte Hinterräder und Lenkräder müssen regelmäßig überprüft werden. Die Nutzung des
Rollstuhls mit nicht korrektem Luftdruck kann gefährlich sein

klar markiert. Nehmen Sie alle Teile aus den Kartons
AUSEINANDERKLAPPEN DES RAHMENS
Nehmen Sie den zusammengeklappten Rahmen aus der Verpackung. Um ihn zu öffnen drücken Sie den Rahmen mit
beiden Händen an einem der beiden horizontalen Rohre des Sitzes nach unten. Üben Sie keinerlei Druck auf die
Seitenteile aus.

Stuhlrahmen befinden.
- Nachdem Sie Schraube Kan der
Rückenlehne gelöst haben, schieben
Sie die Metallrohre der Kopfstütze in
die beiden dafür vorgesehenen
Löcher an der Rückenlehne. Wenn
Sie die Kopfstütze in der gewünsch-
ten (Höhen-)Position befindet, ziehen
Sie Schraube Kwieder fest an.
- Zur Einstellung der Höhe der
Kopfstütze nutzen Sie die Schraube

- Stecken Sie das Vertikale
Stützrohr der jeweiligen
Armlehne in die
Befestigungsvorrichtung obe-
rhalb des Hinterrades.
- Dabei schwingen die Armlehnen
in die richtige Position. Siehe F

- Nehmen Sie die Armlehnen vom
Rollstuhl. Lösen Sie dann
Schraube Gund ziehen Sie Teil
Jnach vorn.
- Schieben Sie Hin die gewün-
schte Höhe. Stellen Sie sicher,
dass Jsich richtig in der
gewünschten Bohrung an H
befindet.
- Ziehen Sie Schraube Gan.
- Plazieren Sie die Armlehnen

- Positionieren Sie Rohr Tan die zylin-
drische Stütze C(siehe Foto 5).
- Drehen Sie die Beinstütze etwa eine
viertel Umdrehung in Richtung des
Stuhls um sie an Cund Fzu befesti-
gen.
- Achten Sie bei der Befestigung darauf,
dass Ihre Finger nicht an den
