The DISTRACT-BALL® is a ha d deployable device that uses high i te sity lighti g a d
sou d effects as a mea s of distractio . The lighti g effect is provided by two high i te sity
CREE LED light e gi es. These light e gi es are located i side two le sed ope i gs that
are located 180 degrees opposite each other o the device. The distractio ary sou d effect
is created by a high power speaker residi g i side a reso ati g cavity i the device. A
exter al Activate Butto is provided to Arm the device, triggeri g the lighti g a d sou d
effects. A micro power co ector is used for re-chargi g the batteries via the supplied USB
chargi g adapter, or a y co ve ie t USB power supply device such as a laptop, or other
device.

Depressi g the exter al Activate Butto Arms the DISTRACT-BALL®. O ce Armed, the
programmed distracti g seque ce is activated through the i ter al Micro-Co troller U it
(MCU).
Followi g the Armi g eve t, user feed back is supplied via 2 soft audible clicks for the
device. This alerts the user that the DISTRACT-BALL® is Armed a d ready to be
deployed. If i the eve t that the device has bee Armed a d the user would like to abort
further operatio , simply depressi g the Activate Butto TWICE, will disable a y further
distractio ary operatio s from occurri g.
After the 2 co firmatio clicks, a approximately 2 seco d o-activity delay comme ces: it
is duri g this time that the user would ormally throw/roll/deploy the DISTRACT-
BALL® i the i te ded target e viro me t. The DISTRACT-BALL’s high power
speaker starts emitti g a 110dB sire like sou d at approximately 3KHz for approximately
7 seco ds. At this same time, the high i te sity CREE LEDs are tur ed o i to a
maximum light output Strobe stage while the high power speaker co ti ues to emit sou d.
Subseque tly, the device stops emitti g sou d a d the lighti g becomes co sta t with 80%
illumi atio output: i this mode the device is i te ded to allow a lighted e viro me t
search. The DISTRACT-BALL® will co ti ue to reduce it’s light output over time to
approximately 50% of maximum, allowi g the e viro me t to be co ti uously lit, a d the
device to be easily retrieved by the user.
The DISTRACT-BALL® ca the be de-activated by depressi g the Active Butto twice.
Now, the DISTRACT-BALL® is ready for the ext distracti g seque ce!
The DISTRACT-BALL® employs rechargeable batteries for a always-ready state. The
batteries ca be simply charged via the exter al chargi g port a d ca be activated up to
fiftee times o a si gle charge. For optimal results, the device should be re-charged after
every use, or exte ded periods of i activity, for a mi imum of four hours.

1. Please completely charge the device before its first use. I sert the USB cable pro g
i to the u it’s micro power co ector a d co ect the cable with the wall charger.
Charge the device for four hours mi imum before first use. The DISTRACT-
BALL® has prove to be capable of operati g for ma y times o a si gle charge
but we suggest re-chargi g the u it after each use, whe possible.

game.

c. To Arm the DISTRACT-BALL®, press the exter al Activate Butto o ce.
To de-activate the DISTRACT-BALL® press the exter al Activate Butto
twice.
d. The DISTRACT-BALL® should primarily be deployed by ROLLING the
device; however, it ca occasio ally be throw from a maximum height of
3’. War i g, co ti uous AND/OR multiple throws from 3’ or higher o to
hard surfaces dramatically i creases the risk of damagi g the device a d
ullifies the warra ty. See Limited Warra ty below.

DISTRACT-BALL® toward the targeted e viro me t maki g sure that

Troubleshooting
If the device displays irregular performa ce it is most likely a battery related issue. The
followi g is a checklist to assist i troubleshooti g the device.
• Charge the device for o less tha 4 hours.
• Retest the device.
• If the problem persists call tech support at (855) 228-0761.

Your DISTRACT-BALL® has a 90 day limited arranty against manufacturing defects and
orkmanship. This arranty does not cover normal ear and tear or abuse.
