IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. NOTES
1.1 CE - Labeling
This product bears the CE- Labeling in
accordance with the guidelines of the
Commission of Medical Products 93/42/EWG
and satisfies all criteria of Appendix I of these
Guidelines.
This product is a Class I product according to
the guidelines 93/42/EWG.
1.2 General Notes
• These Installation and Operating
Instructions form an integral part of the unit.
They must be kept close to the unit and in
readiness whenever required. Precise
observance of these instructions is a pre-
condition for use of the unit for the intended
purpose and for its correct operation.
These Installation and Operating
Instructions should be passed on to any
future purchaser or operator.
• Safety for the operator as well as trouble-
free operation of the unit are only ensured if
use is made of original equipment parts.
Moreover, use may only be made of those
accessories that are specified in the
technical documentation or that have been
expressly approved and released by Dürr
Dental for the intended purpose.
Dürr Dental cannot guarantee for the safety
or proper functioning of this unit in the case
where parts or accessories are used which
are not supplied by Dürr Dental.
• There is no guarantee against damage
arising where parts or accessories are used
which are not supplied by Dürr Dental.
• Where appliances are used for purposes
deemed to be not for the intended
purposen, are incorrectly operated or not
properly repaired, the manufacturer accepts
no liability for damage resulting therefrom.
All risk is borne solely by the user.
• Dürr Dental only regard themselves as
being responsible for the equipment with
regard to safety, reliability and proper
functioning if assembly, resettings, changes
or modifications, extensions and repairs
have been carried out by Dürr Dental or an
agency authorized by Dürr Dental and if the
equipment is used in conformity with the
Installation and Operating Instructions.
• The Docking-station conforms to the
relevant safety standards valid at this time.
All switches, processes, trade marks,
software programs and appliances named
in this document are registered names.
• Any reprinting of the technical
documentation, in whole or in part, is
subject to prior approval of Dürr Dental
being given in writing.
1.3 General Safety Information
This appliance has been so designed and
constructed by Dürr Dental that any danger
arising from the use of this product is virtually
excluded provided it is fitted according to the
instructions. However, in order to avoid any
possible damage or injury we are obliged to
point out the following safety measures.
• When fitting and operating this appliance
observe all local rules and regulations! In
the interests of ensuring problem-free
running the owner and operator are
responsible for observing all rules and
regulations.
• Retain all packing material for possible
return of the product to the manufacturer.
Take care that it does not fall into the hands
of children. Only the original packing
guarantees optimal safety of the appliance
during transport. Should it be necessary to
return the product to the manufacturer
during the guarantee period, Dürr Dental will
not accept claims for damage arising from
using incorrect packing materials.
Should return of the product to the
manufacturers be necessary during the
guarantee period, Dürr Dental accepts no
responsibility for damage occurring during
transport where the original packaging was
not used!

• This product is a medical-technical
appliance and may only be operated or
used by someone who has been trained or
who has experience of how to use the
appliance correctly.
• Before every use the operator must check
the functional safety and the condition of
the appliance.
• The operator must be knowledgeable in the
operation of the appliance.
• The product is not designed to be used in
medical treatment areas where there exists
the danger of explosion. Areas where
explosions could occur are those where
flammable anesthetic material, skin
cleansers, oxygen and skin disinfectants
are present. This appliance is not to be
used in all areas where the atmosphere
could cause fire.
1.4 Using Peripheral Devices
Only peripheral devices (computer,
monitor, printer) may be connected to
this appliance which conform to
standard IEC 950 (EN60950).
The PC-unit must be located away
from the patient treatment area (1.5m
from the patient).Ensure that the PC
system cannot be touched by either
patient or operator during use. Where
this is not possible, then the PC-unit
employed must be installed subject to
safety standard EN60601-1.
• Units may only be connected to the system
or to other units when it has been
established that there is no reduction of
safety for the patient, the operator or the
environment through such connection.
Where it is not absolutely clear from the
documentation whether the safety is
reduced by such connection, then the
operator must establish, e.g. by contacting
either the manufacturer or an expert, that
there is no reduction of safety for the
patient, the operator or the environment
through such connection.
1.5 Electrical Safety Notes
• The Dürr VistaCam2 Docking Station may
only be connected to an earthed safety
socket.
• Before connecting the appliance to the
power supply check that the electrical
current and the frequency of the device as
described on the appliance are compatible
with that of the power supply.
• Check the appliance and the power supply
cables for possible damage before
switching on. Damaged cables, plugs and
sockets must be replaced before use.
• Never touch open supply outlets and
patients simultaneously.

In the Installation and Operating Instructions
use is made of the following terms or symbols
to denote information of special importance:
Information and/or mandatory

2. PRODUCT INFORMATION
2.1 Correct Usage
The VistaCam2 Docking-station is designed
for use as an adapter for the VistaCam2.
Peripheral devices, e.g. monitor, PC, foot
switch etc. are not connected to the
VistaCam2 but into the Docking-station. In
this way it is possible to use the VistaCam2 in
several treatment rooms without the
inconvenience of unplugging and plugging in
the peripherals each time.
The appliance must not be used in
operating theaters.
2.2 Incorrect usage
Any other use or use beyond what is
specified is deemed to be not for the
intended purpose. The manufacturer accepts
no liability for damage resulting therefrom. All
risk is borne solely by the user.

X6. INSTALLATION
6.1 Horizontal set up
When installing horizontally on a cupboard or
on the VistaCart first stick the rubber feet
pads in the position marked.
6.2 Mounting plate
In order that the VistaCam2 is securely fixed
to the Docking-station when mounting on the
wall, on a pipe or on the VistaCart the
mounting plate must first be fixed to the front
edge.
Procedure:
• Remove screw (X).
• Place mounting plate in position.
• Screw into place.
6.3 Wall mounting
Screw the Docking-station onto the wall using
the screws and rawlplugs supplied. When
connecting the VistaCam2 and the Docking-
station together take care that the front cover
plate of ther Docking-station is placed under
the prefitted mounting plate and the
VistaCam2 is firmly held in position.
When mounting in this position do not
attach the rubber foot pads of the
Docking-station, otherwise the front
rail of the Docking-station will not lie
flush.
INSTALLATION
5. SET UP
5.1 Room set-up
• The room temperature must not fall below +
10 ° C in winter and in the summer must not
rise above + 40 ° C.
• Installation in wet or damp rooms is
prohibited.
5.2 Setup options
• The Docking-station may be installed
together with the VistaCam2 on a cupboard
or on a trolley.
• Wall mounting.
• Mounting on a support of the treatment unit.
• On the side of a VistaCart.

6.4 Pipe mounting
Before mounting the VistaCam2 on plumbing
pipework the mounting plate must be fixed as
according to wall mounting. Then use the
wedge pieces and the tape supplied and
screw the Docking-station into position.

7. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The Docking-station should be connected as
per the VistaCam2. See the Installation and
Operating Instructions delivered together with
the DÜRR VistaCam2.

6.5 Mounting on the VistaCart
When mounting on the VistaCart the Docking-
station is positioned in the guide rail of the
side supports. The Docking-station can be
mounted vertically or slightly at an angle.
Procedure:
• Remove the cover on the side support.
• Slide the spring nut into the guide rail into
the guide rail relevant to final Docking-
station position.
• Pass the screw through the outmost of the
four drill holes and tighten in the spring nut.
When mounting in this position do not
attach the rubber foot pads of the
Docking-station, otherwise the front
rail of the Docking-station will not lie
flush.

WASTE DISPOSAL
10. APPLIANCE DISPOSAL
The electronic board and components should
be disposed of as electronic waste. The other
elements can be disposed of as normal waste
observing local rules and regulations.
9. TRANSPORT OF THE
VISTACAM 2
If the VistaCam 2 is transported from one
treatment room to another the camera can be
uncoupled from the Docking-Station without
being switched off. After replacing in the
Docking-Station however, the camera must be
switched on again.
8. COMMISSIONING
8.1 Function check
Before using for the first time check set-up
and all cables carefully.
• Switch on power at the VistaCam2.
• Switch on lighting. Yellow LED shows.
• Image viewer appliance should be switched
on.
• The appliance is now operational and an
image should be seen in the image viewing
appliance.
8.2 Test
This appliance was checked before transport
that it satisfied all electrical safety
requirements. As part of the commissioning
procedure electrical testing should be carried
out and documented. Furthermore, electrical
checks should be carried out at regular
intervals in line with national regulations.
