removing or replacing the product from the base.

ensure full power.
• Whilechargingthechargeindicatorlight(6)willbeilluminated.
• TheOn/Offswitch(1)mustbeintheoff(“O”)position.Theproductwillnotchargeifitisin
any other position.
• Whilecharging,thechargermaygetwarm,thisisperfectlynormalandsafe.Itissafe
to leave the appliance connected to the charger indefinitely. The charger automatically
reduces power consumption when charging is complete.
• Ensurethattheproductisfullyengagedonthechargingbase(4)andthechargeindicator
light(6)ison.
• Whenchargingiscomplete,theLEDwillturnoff.
WARNING: Donotchargeatambienttemperaturesbelow39°F(4°C)or
above104°F(40°C).
SWITCHING ON AND OFF
• Tostart,slidetheOn/Offswitch(1)forward(i.e.“O”=Off,“I”=On).
• Tostop,slidetheOn/Offswitch(1)back.
•Alwaysreturntheproducttothechargingbase(4)immediatelyafterusesothatitwillbe
readyandfullychargedforthenextuse.Ensurethattheproductisfullyengagedonthe
charging base.
DRY PICK-UP
• Foreverydayspillsofdrymaterial,useyourappliancewithoutthesqueegeeaccessory(7).
The squeegee is intended for use with wet spills.
• Utilizethebrushaccessorytoremovedustandpethairfromupholsteryorcarpeted
surfaces.
WET PICK-UP
NOTICE: Yourproductisdesignedforlightspillsonly.
• Usethesqueegee(7)onnon-absorbentsurfaces.
• Forbestresultswhenusingthisaccessory,holdtheapplianceatanangleof45°andpullit
slowly towards you.
• On absorbent surfaces, such as carpet, your appliance will pick up wet spills better without
the accessory.
NOTE: Regularlycleanthefoamfilter(9)anddeflector(10).
Inordertokeepthesuctionforcemaximized,there-usablefoamfiltermustbecleared
regularly during use.
• Pressthebowlreleasebutton(2)andremovethedustbowl(3)(fig. E).
• Emptythedustbowl(3)(fig. F).
• Removethefoamfilteranddeflectorfromthedustbowl(fig. G).Thereisasmalllip(11)at
thebottomofthedeflector(10)tohelpyouremoveitfromthedustbowl.
• Brushanyloosedustfromthefilteranddeflector(9&10).
• Washthefoamfilterinwarm,soapywater(fig. H). The dust bowl can also be washed if
necessary.
CAUTION:Donotimmersetheapplianceinwater(fig. I).
• Makesurethatthedustbowlandthefilteranddeflectoraredry.
• Refitthefilteranddeflectorintothedustbowl.Makesurethatitclicksintoplace.
• Refitthedustbowlontotheappliance.Makesurethatitclicksintoplace.
CAUTION:Neverusetheappliancewithoutthefilter.Optimumdust
collection will only be achieved with clean filters.
REPLACING THE FILTERS
Thefiltershouldbereplacedevery6to9monthsandwheneverwornordamaged.
AreplacementfilterisavailablefromyourBlack&Deckerdealer(WFOPP1).
• Removetheoldfilterasdescribedabove.
• Fitthenewfilterasdescribedabove.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Iftheproductdoesnotwork,checkthefollowing:
• Thatthechargeindicatorlight(6)isonwhenunitisinchargingbase(4).
• Thecharger(5)wascorrectlypluggedinforrecharge.(Itfeelsslightlywarmtothetouch.)
• Thechargercordisnotdamagedandiscorrectlyattachedtothechargingbase(4).
• Thecharger(5)ispluggedintoaworkingelectricaloutlet.
• Thattheswitch(1)isinthe“OFF”positionwhencharging.

BATTERY REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL FIGURE M
Thisproductusesnickel-cadmium(Ni-Cd)rechargeableandrecyclablebatteries.When
the batteries no longer hold a charge, they should be removed from the product and
recycled. They must not be incinerated or disposed of.
ThebatteriescanbetakenfordisposaltoaBlack&Decker,Company-Ownedor
AuthorizedServiceCenter.Somelocalretailersarealsoparticipatinginanational
recyclingprogram(see“RBRC
TM Seal”).Callyourlocalretailerfordetails.Ifyoubringthe
batteriestoaBlack&DeckerCompany-OwnedorAuthorizedServiceCenter,theCenter
will arrange to recycle old batteries. Or, contact your local municipality for proper disposal
instructionsinyourcity/town.
To remove the battery pack for disposal:
1.)Unlatchdustbowl(3)frommainhandleunit.
2.)Removefilter(s).
3.)Removethesevenscrewsholdingtheunittogether.
4.)Pullthecoverhalfawayfromthelocationhalf.
5.)Liftoutthefullmotor/fan/batteryassembly.
6.)Unplugbatteryassemblyfrommainassembly.
7.)Placethebatteryinsuitablepackagingtoensurethattheterminalscannotbeshort-
circuited.
8.)Takethebatterytoyourserviceagentortoalocalrecyclingstation.
Once removed, the battery cannot be refitted.
