Common parts and Tools required
Tools
When working on your TBL the following ‘special’ tools (compared to a Stern/BW pinball for
instance) are likely needed:
•Metric nutdrivers and-or wrenches size 5 ; 5,5 ; 7 ; 8 ; 10 mm
•Torx drivers size TX6 ; TX8 ; TX10 ; TX15 ; TX20 ; TX30
•Metric Allen keys M2,5 ; M4
Of course, this is besides the usual tools like screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
This list is subject to change.
Parts
Most parts directly related to pinball are common available parts used also with many BW pinballs
and can be bought for instance with Pinball Life.
Examples:
•Flippercoils FL-11630: https://www.pinballlife.com/williamsbally-fl-11630-flipper-
coil.html?Category_Code=
•Coilstops are standard BW WPC type A-12390, Pinball Life: Williams/Bally Flipper Coil Stop A-
12390
•Plungers are standard BW WPC type. Left flipper Pinball Life: Williams/Bally Left Flipper Plunger
and Crank Assembly , right flipper Pinball Life: Williams/Bally Right Flipper Plunger and Crank

Page 15 Fuses TBL rel 0.799
The fuses in the TBL are all located below the playfield on the big PCB. In the backbox there are no
fuses located.
They are located at various spots on the bottom half of this big PCB. A row of fuses is hidden
between two cable harnesses.
Next to the fuse you will notice a red led. If it is lit in bright red the fuse should be OK. If it isn’t lit or
only very faint lit very likely the fuse is not OK (or no voltage present due to another cause). If you
have the coindoor open no 12 & 48VDC is present on the MMB so those fuses will not be lit!!

Dutch Pinball –Technical Support TBL FAQ rev 0.78
Page 16 Fuses TBL rel 0.799
Each fuse has a number next to it and silkscreen printed
top left corner of the PCB you will find a list with
description for what each fuse stands for
All fuses are slo-blow, 5x20 mm. They can be purchased
at many places as they are quite common but you can
check also out : https://www.pinballlife.com/20mm-
slow-blow-fuses.html
Values used are 1A, 1.6A, 5A, 6.3A, again, all slow blow
Mini Playfield is the mini playfield on top with the car
Front main is the smaller pcb which you find at the front
below the flippers
Note: it has shown that in rare cases fuse F06 can blow.
In 2023 DP started installing 1.6A fuse at F06 but silk
print still mentions 1A.
Mains fuse
The entrance for the mains powercord also has a fuseholder
Used here are 2 pcs 3.15AT (slow) fuses.

Page 18 USB update faq 0.61
Download the latest version from the DP website, put it (still Zipped so do not unzip it!) on an USB
stick, plug this USB stick in a free USB-port on the PC motherboard in the backbox of the TBL, and
then you can install it by selecting this option. The + button acts as Yes and –button acts as No.
Full update instructions:
•Download the .zip file of update 0X.XX (without renaming the file and without extracting the
zip - some browsers (like Safari) have a setting to do this automatically, so disable that if
needed).
•Copy the .zip file to the root of a USB stick (meaning not in a subfolder).
•Start your pinball machine and insert the USB stick in a free USB-port
•Enter the Service Menu and go down to "Software Menu" -> "USB Update".
•Now you should see update X.XX listed. If not, retry after reseating the usb stick and check if
the update is really still zipped on the usb stick.
•Select X.XX
•Wait for "Preparing delta update", "Copying" and "Installing" to finish this will take a few
minutes. Don't navigate the menu or turn off the machine during this time!
•The menu will then jump to where you can "Select" the new version.
•Select the new version and confirm the NO / YES question by pressing the "right" (Volume +)
button.
•The game will restart using version X.XX.

║Please report bugs and feature requests at issues.dutchpinball.com ║
╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
Version 1.12 - April 2022
Improvements:
•Changed Bowling Return coil strength range and lowered the factory default to prevent the
ball jumping over the Bowling Release Post.
•No software update needs to be present anymore on a USB stick when exporting files.
•Renamed "Light Lock" switch and LED names to include "Left" and "Right" instead of colons
around "Light" or "Lock".
•Added setting "Adjustment Menu -> Display -> Vertical Position" to widen display support.
Bugfixes:
•Fixed: File exports (database/log) from the Software Menu previously weren't always present
on the USB stick after ejecting it.
Version 1.11 - February 2022
Improvements:
•Test Report: only consider finished games and exclude bowling / wizard challenge games for
certain switches.
Bugfixes:
•In attract mode the random callouts on flipper button presses are working again (broke in
1.10).
•Fixed "Scoop (opto)" showing up as unused in Test Report. Because there are two possible
scoop switches (the Scoop Opto being a future hardware replacement option), now only the
scoop switch that has been activated last is checked.
•If Nihilist Showdown was lit when starting The Dude Abides, sometimes Nihilist Showdown
would start alongside either Phase 1 or 2.

Dutch Pinball –Technical Support TBL FAQ rev 0.78
Page 20 USB update faq 0.61
•Fixed "Ball Collected" animation not showing and the ball staying in scoop when collecting
the 5th bowling ball through the Mystery award.
Version 1.10 - December 2022
Improvements:
•Added the "Game Mode Menu". During attract mode, press both flipper buttons for 1 second
to open this new menu.
oRegular Game: Play a regular game, also if the machine is normally set to tournament
play.
oTournament Game: Play a game without random Mystery Awards, instead they are
handed out in a fixed order per level.
oThe Dude Abides Challenge: Play the Wizard Mode "The Dude Abides" as a separate
1-ball challenge.
oBowling Challenge: Play a full 10 frame bowling game and aim for the perfect 300
score. Also works without balls in the trough / upright playfield to test your bowling
alley.
oMusic Player: Listen to all of the games' music.
•Added 7 adjustments to disable or otherwise tweak the Game Mode Menu: "Adjustment
Menu -> Game Mode Menu".
•Added "Bowling Loop Champion" for the most mini playfield ramp loops during a game. Also
an icon + counter is now shown after you have spelled BOWLING.
•Added "Bowling Challenge Champion" & "The Dude Abides Challenge Champion" for the
highest corresponding scores.
•Added 3 adjustments to "Adjustment Menu -> Pricing / Awards" for the new Champion
spots.
•Added submenu "Adjustment Menu -> Pricing / Awards -> Bowling Score Awards" with
separate award settings for bowling scores reached during a normal game.
•After reaching a highscore/champion spot and selecting a profile afterwards, the score and
title with the selected credentials are now shown again to celebrate the moment.
•The bowling release coil will retry releasing the ball if the ball is not released (as sensed by
the Bowling Return switch).
•Tweaked The Dude Abides dynamic lightshow.
Bugfixes:
•Ballsearch was not enabled (now is) for Multiball, Nihilist Showdown and The Dude Abides
Multiball. Character Multiball and normal Multiball when awarded through mystery were the
only multiballs with ballsearch enabled..
•Fixed the delayed flipper mode at the end of Dude Abides Multiball no longer working since
1.01.
•Fixed some audio slip ups in Family Mode (Mark It Zero final animation and Walter's shabbos
rant) and removed an f-bomb quote from the random attract mode quotes.
•When USB export goes wrong, the [EXPORTING] message wouldn't be cleared. Now [USB
STICK ISSUE] will be shown.
•The mystery award animation could be "skipped" repeatedly, restarting part of the
animation and the award callout.
