1 INTRODUCTION
R2P™ 2.0 Bottom Drive Roller Apparatus
The WHEATON® R2P 2.0 Bottom Drive Roller Apparatus is a major step forward from the basic roller
apparatus of the past. Just about every aspect of roller bottle culture can be controlled and
documented. The microprocessor controller, color touch screen display and powerful brushless DC
motor, allows smooth and precise control of bottle rotation speed. Easy, user defined soft start and
soft stop and user defined reversal of rotation, if desired, round out the bottle control. A rotation
alarm is standard and will warn of a belt or motor failure.
An optional battery backup allows 18 hours of normal operation if main power is lost. Optional
resistance temperature detector (RTD) sensors are available to measure ambient conditions. The
roller apparatus can be used as a stand-alone unit or quickly and inexpensively connected to a
TCP/IP or RS-422/485 network. A menu-selectable Modbus protocol option allows quick connection
to established plant networks and control systems.
The WHEATON® R2P 2.0 Bottom Drive Roller Apparatus is designed to roll partially filled roller bottles
at specified speeds. Requirements beyond catalog offerings can be considered. Consult DWK Life
Sciences Technical Service staff for specific roller apparatus needs.
