BESCHREIBUNG
Die DYNACORD FX 12 ist als Medium-Long-Throw Mittel-
Hochtonkabinett in koaxialer Anordnung konzipiert. Sie
kann auch ohne Basskabinette in hochwertigen Sprach-
Beschallungsanlagen eingesetzt werden, wenn größere
Reichweiten gefordert sind. Die empfohlene aktive
Übergangsfrequenz zu Sub Kabinetten ist 140 Hz mit
18dB/Oktave Butterworth Charakteristik. Im Lo-Mid Bereich
zwischen 100Hz und 1kHz kommt ein Electro-Voice ND
12 A Lautsprecher an einem konischen Horn zum Einsatz.
Das von einem Electro-Voice ND 6 Neodym 1.4“-Treiber
angetriebene 80° x 40° Constant Directivity Horn überträgt den
Frequenzbereich oberhalb 1kHz. Die FX 12 selbst ist mit einer
passiven Frequenzweiche für die Trennung zwischen Mittel-
und Hochtontreiber ausgestattet (1kHz, 18 dB /Oktave) .
Der Mitteltonlautsprecher ND 12 A und der ND 6 Hochtontreiber
sind beide durch die vollelektronische VOICE COIL TRACKING
PROTECTION gegen thermische Überlastung präzise
geschützt. Extrem leistungsstarke Endstufen bis zu 1200W an 8
Ohm können deshalb zur Erzielung größtmöglicher Dynamik als
Antrieb verwendet werden ohne daß, auch bei Fehlbedienung,
eine thermische Überlastung der Schwingspulen auftreten
kann. Im Überlastungsfall wird die Leistung ‚weich’ auf sichere
Werte reduziert. Störend wahrnehmbare Abschaltvorgänge
wie bei herkömmlichen Protections treten also nicht auf. Das
Gehäuse der FX 12 besteht aus 15mm Pappelsperrholz. Alle
Gehäuseverbindungen und Verstrebungen sind genutet und
verleimt um Eigenresonanzen auf ein Minimum zu reduzieren.
Die Gehäuseoberäche ist mit extrem strapazierfähigem
Nadellz schwarz-meliert überzogen. Die Box ist frontseitig
durch ein pulverbeschichtetes Metallgitter und eine
Akustikschaum-Frontabdeckung sicher geschützt. Das
Anschlußfeld der FX 12 besitzt zwei 4 polige Speakonbuchsen
(Input / Output) für sicheren Anschluß und problemloses
Weiterschleifen. Die Pinbelegung ist von NORMAL (1+, 1-) auf
SYSTEM (2+, 2-) umschaltbar. Durch die seitlichen Griffe ist
ein leichter und sicherer Transport gewährleistet. 4 großächige
Gummifüße und 4 Rollen erlauben problemloses Handling und
sicheren Stand.
4 Flugschienen und 2 Spanngurtaufnahmen sind serienmässig
integriert.
DESCRIPTION
The DYNACORD FX 12 is concepted as a medium long-
throw mid/high- frequency cabinet in coaxial design. It can be
used also without subwoofer cabinets in high-quality sound
reinforcement system for speech for medium-throw distances.
The recommended active x-over frequency is 140 Hz, 18
dB/oct. Butterworth. In the lo-mid range an ND 12 A Electro-
Voice loudspeaker chassis works into a conical horn. The
80x40 Constant Directivity horn, driven by an Electro-Voice
1.4“ ND 6 neodymium driver delivers the frequency range
above 1kHz. The FX 12 is equipped with a passive x-over
(1kHz, 18 dB/oct). Every transducer is protected against
thermal overload with an electronic circuit called VOICE COIL
TRACKING PROTECTION. This circuit senses the terminal
voltages of the transducers and simulates the thermal behaviour
of the tranducers’ voice coils. In case of a potential thermal
overload the power applied to the speakers is reduced to a
safe level. Power amps up to 1200W 8 Ohms can be used in
order to have maximum dynamic range without the danger
of thermal overload in non-controlled situations. The VOICE
COIL TRACKING PROTECTION exhibits ‘soft’ switching
characteristics, so no annoying clicks or pops are audible. The
circuitry automatically resets after the voice coil temperature
has reached a safe value.
The FX 12 cabinet is made of 15mm poplar plywood. All
corner joints and braces are grooved and glued in order to
reduce cabinet resonances to a minimum. The cabinet surface
is covered with a heavy-duty black carpet. A powder-coated
steel grille and an acoustic foam front protects the speakers
. The connector panel uses two 4-pole Speakon connectors
(Input/Output) for safe connection and easy chaining to the next
loudspeaker. The pin assignment is switchable from NORMAL
(1+, 1-) to SYSTEM (2+, 2-). The handle trays on the sides
guarantee easy and safe transport. 4 large-sized rubber feet
and 4 castors allow easy handling and safe stand. 4 integrated
rigging tracks and 2 webbing strap-points can be used for easy
‘ying’ of the FX 12 cabinets.
