Digital Receiver Setup Guide

TIP! Write down the Serial Number for your receiver for reference:
The Serial Number is a 12 digit number located on the back or bottom of your receiver or on
your receipt starting with “M”.

Before You Begin
1. Place the receiver where it can be easily plugged in, detected by the remote
and connected to the TV.
2. Have your Serial Number for the receiver handy to activate your receiver.
The Serial Number is a 12 digit number located on the back or bottom of the
receiver or on your receipt starting with “M”.
3. Follow the steps on the next page to connect and activate your receiver.

Connecting Your Receiver to Your TV
Locate the coax cable going from the cable wall outlet to your TV (or other device).
Disconnect the coax cable from your TV (or other device). Take the coax cable that you
disconnected from your TV (or other device) and connect it to the CABLE-IN port on your
new receiver.
If your TV is HD compatible:
Connect one end of the HDMI cable provided with your install kit to the HDMI port on
the back of the receiver. Next, take the other end of your HDMI cable and connect it to
the HDMI port on the back of your TV. Make sure your TV settings are on the HDMI Input,
corresponding to the TV HDMI Input the receiver is connected to. See next page for a tip
on using the Input function.

If your TV is not HD compatible:
Connect one end of the Audio/Video Cables provided with your install kit to the
corresponding colour coded ports on the back of the receiver. Next, take the other end
of the Audio/Video Cables and connect it to the corresponding colour coded Audio/Video
ports on the back of your TV.
Finally, insert the power cord into the back of the receiver and insert the other end into
the electrical outlet.

Activate Your Receiver
TIP! Using the Input function:
1. To activate your receiver, first ensure that your TV input is on the correct setting
(eg: HDMI 1) by using the remote for the TV.
2. Insert the 2 AA batteries provided into the receiver remote. The remote is already
programmed to work for your receiver.
3. You can program the receiver remote to work with your TV, DVD, etc. by following the
instructions on the back of the remote.
4. Once you have followed all of the above steps, please call 1-866-238-2390 to
activate your receiver.
REMEMBER: You will need the Serial Number for the receiver when you call to activate it.
One of the most common reasons customers are unable to watch their favourite show, is that
their TV is set to the wrong “Input” which prevents the Eastlink signal from coming through.
1. Press the button labeled Input on your TV’s remote. Depending on the brand of your TV,
this button may alternatively be labeled Source, A/V or Video.
2. Choose the Input option that matches the HDMI port number that the receiver HDMI
cable is plugged into. You can use the arrows or press the Input button multiple times
to highlight the correct option. Once the options match, there should be a picture
on the TV.
3. Press the Exit button on your remote.
