This Quick Start Guide is not intended to replace the full user instrucons.
Please read the full user instrucons before using the Airo 24.
CAUTION: The Airo 24 must be put on charge for 12 HOURS before rst use.

24v - 2200mAh Ni-MH baery pack.
1 x Baery charger (with mains adaptors) (B).
1 x User Instrucons.
1 x Mains Power Adaptor (Oponal).

STANDARD PACKAGE CONTENTS
Fit the appropriate mains adaptor to the
charger (see ‘Baery Charging’ page 8).
Connect the baery charger to a mains
power socket and the Airo 24 charging
socket.

NOTE: In the case of a power cut, switching the power socket o or disconnecng the
charging lead, the charging process will not be interrupted as the unit remembers the
previous charge state.
OPERATING
CHARGE THE BATTERY FOR 12 HOURS BEFORE
USE.
For the rst 3 hours, the boom light will ash green.
Aer 3 hours the rst light will become a steady
green and the second light will start ashing. Aer
6 hours the boom 2 lights will remain green and
the third light will ash. Aer 9 hours the boom 3
will remain green and the top will be ashing. Then
aer 12 hours the charge is complete and the top
light will remain ashing and other 3 will be o.

The Baery Status Indicator lights serve 2 purposes:
1 - Whilst charging, the lights indicate which part of the charging cycle the baery is at.
2 - When the Baery Status Indicator Buon is pressed (with the Airo 24 removed from
charge), the lights indicate how much charge remains in the baery.

DURING A LIFT
AFTER COMPLETING A LIFT
Disconnect the inatable unit and hand control and pack away. Turn o the compressor and
the boom green light will go out. The product will also auto turn o aer 2.5 minutes of
inacvity.
Press the Baery Status Indicator Buon.

Each me the hand control is operated the unit does a baery test and indicates the
baery state. The hand control buon is then released when a compartment in the liing
device is lled. Product will then automacally turn o aer 2.5 mins of inacvity.

If you see a single solid red light (if this is within a li - the li can be completed), the Airo
should be put on unbroken charge immediately for a minimum of 3 hours. This will provide
sucient capacity to complete one more li.
Once the red light shows to achieve full capacity a full 12 hour charge is required.

Intended Use
The Mangar Airo 24 is a low pressure air
compressor, which has been designed to inate
the Mangar ‘Camel’, 'Eagle' and ‘ELK’ pneumac
liing equipment through a 4-Way pneumac hand
control. The 4-Way hand control is supplied with
the Camel, ELK and Eagle.

•Be sure that you have read and understood these
instrucons and those provided with any other
Winncare product, before operang the equipment.
•To avoid the risk of electric shock, NEVER recharge
the baery in the bathroom, outdoors or in a damp
environment.
•To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not use the
oponal mains power adaptor in the bathroom,
outdoors or in a damp environment.
•Always disconnect from the baery charger before
cleaning.
•Use only the supplied baery charger.
•Do not operate the Airo 24 compressor in the
presence of ammable anaesthec mixtures with air,
oxygen or nitrous oxide, as these mixtures can create
a combusble environment leading to the potenal
for re or even an explosion in the presence of a
spark.
•Ensure that when in use, the Airo 24 and its
connected hoses are laid out in such a way as to
avoid any risk of tripping or strangulaon.
•Ensure that children and pets do not interfere with
the safe operaon of the Airo 24 and inatable
product.
•Keep the Airo 24 and inatable product away from
sources of heat.
•Disconnect the Airo 24 compressor from the
inatable product before transporng so as to avoid
accidental inaon.
•The Airo 24 should only be used for its stated
purpose and should not be modied in any way.
•The oponal mains power adaptor (The Mean
Well Enterprises AC/DC Switching Adaptor Model
GSM220A20-R7B) is specic to the Airo 24 and is
the only approved unit to be used for this purpose.
•Do not operate the compressor outside of the
specied duty cycle of 20% ‘Operang Time’ and
80% ‘Non-Operang Time’. Maximum connuous
operang me = 3 minutes.
•WARNING: This product and associated
packaging does not contain any materials known
to cause an allergic reacon. Please refer to the
seperate inatable equipment instrucons for
further details.
The ELK requires assistance to help li a paent
from the oor to an elevated sing posion. Once
in a sing posion, the paent can be transferred
to a chair or helped to a standing posion.
The Camel and Eagle can be operated with or
without assistance and when inated, lis the
paent into a raised seated posion ready to stand.
No special skills or training are required to operate
the Airo 24 and its accessories.
Further guidance on operaon can be found in the
individual accessory User Instrucons.
The Airo compressor and applied parts are
intended for connual re-use as required and no
special acons or operaons are needed to achieve
this.

When the ‘Power’ buon is pressed, the compressor will momentarily run and
then stop. The boom light on the indicator will show GREEN.
WARNING: The baery must be put on charge immediately as soon as the red indicator light
appears. Running the Airo24 on RED unl the baery is exhausted will damage the baery.
When the compressor is running, the baery status indicator lights will only indicate the state of
baery charge as it was at the start of the li. When the compressor stops running, the baery
status indicator will show a boom green light (this will be red if the baery charge has become
low).
IMPORTANT: To maximize the life and liing performance of the baery, fully recharge the
baery aer use.
Fully charge the baery for a minimum of 12 hours before using the Airo 24 for the rst me.
When the Baery State Indicator buon is pressed, the lights indicate how much
charge remains in the baery.

Baery Charging - g. 1
•Check the baery charger casing and lead
for signs of damage and if damaged DO NOT
USE.
•Fit the appropriate mains plug adaptor to
the baery charger (A).
•Plug the baery charger into a mains power
socket and connect the charger output lead
to the Airo 24 charging socket (B).
NOTE: On rst charge or when ng a new
baery it should be charged for a minimum of
12 hours. On subsequent charges
the Airo calculates the charging period
based on usage and will not necessarily start
on the boom light ashing.
•For the rst 3 hours, the boom light will
ash green. Aer 3 hours the rst light will
become a steady green and the second light
will start ashing. Aer 6 hours the boom
2 lights will remain green and the third light
will ash. Aer 9 hours the boom 3 will
remain green and the top will be ashing.
Then aer 12 hours all lights will briey
become steady green.
•The compressor will move into an energy
saving mode with the top LED ashing
every 6 seconds and the other 3 will be o.
NOTE: The compressor will not run whilst the charger is connected.
To maintain baery condion, it is recommended that the Airo 24 is le connuously on charge
when not in use. The baeries cannot be overcharged using this charger.
WARNING: DO NOT recharge the baeries in a bathroom or in a damp environment.

Disconnect the Airo 24 from the baery
charger and place it in a safe and convenient
posion. NOTE: The Airo compressor should
not be placed in a posion where it is dicult
to operate the ‘Power’ buon in an emergency.
•Connect the four hoses (A) from the
4-Way Hand Control to the corresponding
numbered and coloured connectors on the
Mangar Camel, Eagle or ELK.
•Connect the hose (B) from the hand control
to the Airo 24 air outlet socket (C). The
connector will ‘click’ into place when rmly
pushed onto the socket.
•To switch on, press the ‘Power’ buon (D).
The compressor will run when a buon on
the hand control is pressed and stop when
the buon is released. An internal pressure
switch will stop the compressor running
when each corresponding secon of the
inatable product has reached full pressure.

Mains Power Adaptor (oponal)
An oponal mains power adaptor is available
to power the Airo 24 directly from a mains
power socket. The adaptor is specic to the
Airo 24 and is the only approved unit to be
used for this purpose. Connect the adaptor
between a mains power socket and the
adaptor inlet socket on the end of the Airo 24
(Fig. 2).
NOTE: This adaptor, has a non-standard
output connector and powers the Airo 24
directly, it will not charge the baery. The only
way to charge the baery is to use the charger
which was supplied with the Airo 24. With
the power adaptor connected, the Airo 24
behaves in the same way as if it was running
on the baery, the only funconal dierence
is that the baery indicator will show boom
LED orange whilst the Airo is running. With
the adaptor connected, the Airo 24 will also
run if there is no baery ed.

•Pressing any of the numbered hand control buons will deliver air to the corresponding
numbered hose (follow the User Instrucons for the Winncare product that is to be inated).
•To switch the Airo 24 o aer use, press the ‘Power’ buon. The boom indicator light will go
out. The pump will also automacally turn o aer 2.5 minutes of inacvity.

The Airo 24 has been designed to be maintenance free and
apart from replacing the baery, the Airo contains no other user
serviceable parts.
Baery replacement:
Disposal
When the Airo 24 has reached the end of it’s working life, remove the baery for safe disposal in
accordance with local regulaons, and dispose of the Airo 24 at your local household waste recycling
centre (civic amenity site).
Cleaning
Unless contaminaon is suspected, periodic cleaning is all that is recommended. The Airo 24 should be
cleaned/disinfected as follows:
•Unplug the Airo 24 from the baery charger. Clean the external surfaces using a non abrasive damp
cloth with warm water. Wipe dry thoroughly with a dry towel before reconnecng to the baery
charger. Do not allow moisture to enter any part of the compressor.
•Do not use solvent-based products.
Disinfecng/Sterilising
•Disinfecon – Pre-clean the Airo compressor by wiping with a damp cloth and then disinfect by
wiping with a 1:10 soluon of household liquid bleach and water - 1 part bleach to 10 parts cold
water (10,000ppm (1%) Sodium Hypochlorite soluon). Do not allow moisture to enter any part of
the compressor. Allow to air dry. In usual circumstances this product does not require sterilisaon for
reuse.
Storage
•When not in use, store in a dry place together with these instrucons. To maintain the baeries, when
being stored for long periods, leave the Airo 24 on charge.
When it becomes apparent that the Airo 24 is producing fewer than expected liing cycles, the baery is
probably reaching the end of its working life and should be replaced. For opmal performance, Winncare
recommends replacing baeries every 12 months.
If a fault should develop or if you require assistance in seng up using or maintaining the equipment, please
contact your supplier.

•Turn the Airo 24 onto its end containing the air outlet socket,
remove the screw (A) and slide the end panel (B) away from
the housing.
•Disconnect the wire from the baery pack and remove the
baery pack from the baery compartment.
•Fit the replacement baery pack, ensuring that the connector
is secure, ret the end panel and secure the screw (A).
•To calibrate the baery indicator, it is essenal before use to
charge for 12 hours.
