The CSC923 represents a major advan ement in inema s reen
hannel speaker design. In orporating many new EAW engineering
breakthroughs, the CSC723 is designed to provide optimal overage
in all inemas, espe ially “stadium” seating auditoriums, where
front-to-ba k overage provides a diffi ult hallenge for even the best
onventional systems.
The three-way CSC923 features a multi omponent modular design
whi h allows qui k installation, with no assembly required on site.
The mid-range and high frequen y horns feature an unusual asym-
metri al flare design, whi h provides a narrow pattern at the rear of
the room, and a wider pattern at the front of the room. This design
minimizes energy radiated at the side walls, while on entrating
sound in the seating area. The high frequen y horn is oupled to a
2-in exit driver, and also features a ontrolled ollapsing pattern at
the very highest frequen ies, whi h ompensates for the s reen’s
effe t of widening the dispersion, thus resulting in a onstant pat-
tern in the seating area.
The single 10” mid-range one driver is housed in its own suben lo-
sure and is oupled to EAW’s patented Radial Phase Plug™. The
unique design of the Radial Phase Plug™ signifi antly redu es throat
distortion and frequen y “time smear”, resulting in noti eably
learer, more natural sounding dialog.
The low frequen y se tions in orporate EAW’s “push-pull” driver
arrangement. The drivers are out of phase relative to ea h other both
physi ally and ele tri ally, yet their produ t is a ousti ally in phase,
substantially lowering me hani ally indu ed distortion.
