T e CB523M tri-amplified t ree-way full-range screen c annel loud-
speaker system as been approved for use in THX® certified t eaters.
T ree-way design dramatically advances cinema audio quality by
improving t e naturalness and intelligibility of dialog, eliminating
distortion from excessive driver excursion and extending pattern
control into t e lower octaves.
T e two component system includes a BV253C dual 15-in low
frequency enclosure and an HK523M mid/ ig section.
T e low frequency enclosure uses optimally tuned enclosure venting
to increase LF response w ile limiting driver excursion. T is met od
produces less distortion and minimizes driver strain w ile extending
LF response to t e lowest octaves. T e enclosure’s s allow dimension
allows convenient placement be ind t e screen.
T e HK523M MF/HF section features a orn-loaded 10-in cone and a
ig power 1.4-in exit compression driver loaded wit a 90°x45°
coverage pattern constant directivity orn.
T e adjustable steel bracket attac ing t e MF/HF section to t e LF
enclosure can be positioned at one of t ree mounting points for
optimum front/rear placement. T e bracket allows t e MF/HF section
to be aimed independently of t e LF section in bot t e orizontal
and vertical planes and can be locked once it is positioned.
Input connectors for t e LF and MF sections are two-terminal
barrier strips t at accommodate bare wire, tinned leads or spade
lugs. Bind posts for t e ig frequency section are located directly
on compression driver. T e input panels are located on t e sides and
top of t e enclosures for convenient access in cramped installation
areas.
