mend you to read through this manual carefully to avoid unnecessary damage to yourself or the product..
To ensure safety, please follow the instructions below.
1. Please don’t install this decoder in lightning, intense magnetic or high-voltage elds.
2. To reduce the risk of component damage and re caused by short circuit, make sure connection is properly
congured before powering on.
3. Always be sure to mount this unit in an area that will allow proper ventilation to ensure temperature is
within acceptable operating range.
4. Check if the voltage and power adapter suit the decoder & if anode or cathode denition is the same as the
controller’s.
5. Don’t connect cables with power on, make sure all wires are properly connected before powering on.

ADDRESS SETTING
EXAMPLE 1: TO SET ADDRESS TO 37
FIGURE 1
WARNING: CONNECTING THE DC POWER LEAD TO DATA TERMINAL OR REVERSING THE POLARITY
OF THE DC CONNECTION WILL CAUSE A SHORT CIRCUIT THAT MAY DAMAGE YOUR DECODER UNIT.
This decoder can control 170 LPD6803 chips. You can use DIP switches to set the starting address, the DIP
switches from 1 to 9 are a binary coding switches, the 1st bit is LSC, the 9th bit MSC. You may set 512 DMX
addresses total. When a DIP switch is set in the downward position it is in the ON position or “1”. When a DIP
switch is set in the upward position it is in the OFF position or “0”.
DMX512 signal is accepted only when the DIP switch FUN(10) = OFF (0)
Set DIP Switches 1, 3 and 6 to the ON position and the rest to OFF(Figure 1), The total sum of DIP switches in
the ON position is 37 (1+4+32=37), so the Starting DMX512 address is 37.
WARNING: DMX SYSTEMS WITH MORE THAN TWO DMX CONTROLLERS REQUIRES A DMX SIGNAL
TERMINATOR ON THE DMX OUTPUT OF THE LAST CONTROLLER IN THE SERIES.

EXAMPLE 2:
FIGURE 2
FIGURE 3
FIGURE 4
Set the starting DMX512 address code to 385; Set DIP switches 1, 8 and 9 to the ON position. The rest of the
switches to OFF (Figure 2). The total sum from switches 1, 8, 9, is 1+128+256 so the starting DMX512 code is 385.
The 10th DIP switch is FUN, acting as the function key. FUN=OFF works to receive DMX512 signals. FUN=ON works
to test decoders as Figure 3:
SWITCH1-9 OFF: BLACK
SWITCH1 IS ON: RED
SWITCH2 IS ON: GREEN
SWITCH3 IS ON: BLUE
SWITCH4 IS ON: YELLOW
SWITCH5 IS ON: PURPLE
SWITCH6 IS ON: CYAN
SWITCH7 IS ON: WHITE
SWITCH8 IS ON: 7 COLOR JUMPING (8 speed steps)
SWITCH9 IS ON: 7 COLOR SMOOTH (8 speed steps)
INSTRUCTIONS ON THE TESTING FUNCTION
See Figure 4, if multiple dip switches are on, the function is subject to the last switch.
