Introduction
Thank you for purchasing one of our Eirene Riser Recliner chairs. Forte Rehab looks to ensure that all
products designed for its range are constructed from high quality materials and with a high level of
craftmanship. If for any reason, a defect or issue is found upon receiving your Riser Recliner, please contact
your local agent or dealer so that we may look into the issue further.
The Riser Recliners are designed to help people rise easily from a seated position as well as be able to rest
in a comfortable supine position.
Before using the Riser Recliner, please read this instruction manual carefully and follow the recommended
safety guidelines.
We trust you shall enjoy the full benefits of our Eirene Riser Recliner Range!
User Precaution
If you have any medical condition which may inhibit or affect you while using the Riser Recliner chair
please consult your doctor prior to purchase and use.
Safety Guidelines
Before using the Riser Recliner Chair, please follow the basic safety rules given below.
•The chair must be assembled by using all the parts and screws provided.
•The chair must be placed on a flat, level service.
•Do not use the lift chair in humid or dusty environment, as it may cause electrical issues or
mechanical trouble. The chair must be in a dry room.
•Do not use the chair in a room where the air temperature is higher than 4 degrees Celsius.
•Do not expose the riser recliner chair to direct sunlight, stoves, heaters or any other heating
appliance.
•Do not use the riser recliner chair outdoors.
•When the riser recliner chair is not in use, disconnect the power plug from the main supply to avoid
overheating.

•Do not use the riser recliner chair in conjunction with any other therapeutic or beauty equipment
such as massage mats, slimming machines or electric blankets.
•Stop using the riser recliner chair if you encounter any pain or discomfort during the operation of
the product.
•Do not allow children or pets to play on or around the riser recliner chair. Small parts may be
dangerous to their health.
•Do not place any heavy objects on the armrest, footrest or backrest of the riser recliner.
•Do not jump on the riser recliner chair.
•Do not rock or tilt the riser recliner chair while in use or operation.
•Do not use the riser recliner chair when your body is wet or damp.
•Do not apply weight on the footrest area apart from legs at rest while seated in the chair.
•Before operating the riser recliner chair ensure that the local power supply voltage corresponds
with specifications indicated for the chair.
•To avoid electrical shock the power plug and cord must always be kept dry and not touched with
wet or damp hands.
•Do not operate the riser recliner chair if the power cord or plug is damaged. Do not try to change
the damaged plug and cord by yourself. Always contact a qualified technician or your local agent or
dealer for inspection and repair.
•Do not operate the riser recliner chair if the electrical outlet is excessively loose or damaged.
•Do not touch the surface of the plug after disconnecting as it may be hot.
•Do not operate the remote control with wet hands, sharp objects or hard objects.
•Do not drop the remote control.
•Do not sit, step or place heavy objects on the remote control.
•Do not operate the remote control with excessive force.
•Do not sit or lie on your side or stomach during operation of the riser recliner chair. You must
always sit or lie upright while operating the hand control.
•Do not place your fingers, toes or any other object between the seat and footrest.
•Before cleaning or fixing the riser recliner chair make sure the power is disconnected from the
mains supply.
•Do not wash the riser recliner chair with water.
•Do not remove the back cover off the riser recliner chair. Touching the inside of the chair may result
in shock or injury.
•This chair must be used in accordance with the instructions provided.

•All repairs must be carried out by a qualified technician or After Sales Service. DO not attempt to
repair anything yourself.
•The manufacturer of this riser recliner chair, their agent, distributors, partners or dealers are not
liable for any damages caused to person(s), animal(s), or property(s) resulting from improper or
misuse of the riser recliner chair.
•Maximum user weight is 136kg – usage over this limit may void the warranty of the riser recliner
chair if damage arises.
IMPORTANT NOTICE STOP USING THE RISER RECLINER CHAIR IF:
•Water is spilt on the riser recliner chair – this may lead to electrocution.
•The upholstery or any part of the chair is damaged.
•The riser recliner chair has malfunctioned during operation.
•There is a thunder or lightning storm in the area which may lead to a surge in power.
•If you suffer from any sudden or abnormal pain during operation of the riser recliner.

Installation & Assembly
The riser recliner chair is packed in a semi knocked down form consisting of 2 main parts, the base
section and the back. You shall also find the power supply adapter and user manual as well as the
remote control (in the case of single motor units) in separate packaging within the box.
•The backrest is separate to the base and is simple to attach by sliding the metal clips found on
either side of the back over the metal brackets protruding from the back of the base. The clips
shall clip into place when they the back rest is in the right place.
•The power adapter unit should be put together with the kettle lead to be able to connect to the
mains supply. There is also an extension wire present to connect to the socket found at the back
of the base of the riser recliner to power the unit to be able to operate.
•Make sure there is no obstruction behind or in front of the riser recliner chair before operating.

Usage of Hand Control
The hand control activates the motors in your riser recliner chair which allows you to sit, stand and recline.
The hand controls for single and dual motor chairs differ in appearance and function. The controls for each
model of riser recliner chair are illustrated below. Please refer to the relevant instructions for your model
of riser recliner chair.
Single Motor Riser Recliner Chairs (M1801 M1802)
To get into the chair
While standing next to your riser recliner chair, press “Button 1” to raise the riser recliner chair to a height
you can sit on comfortably with both feet firmly on the ground. This height will vary from person to person.
When in position and ready, lean against the chair and press “Button 2”.
As the chair continues downward move yourself into a sitting position. Release the button when the chair
is firmly set on the floor.
To control the Backrest / Leg Rest
Press “Button 2” to first raise the leg rest of the riser recliner chair, you may choose to release the button
at any time when the leg rest is at the desired angle or raise this part up a full 90 degrees.

If the leg rest section reaches a full 90-degree lift, the backrest shall start to recline. This may also be
stopped at any desired angle by releasing “Button 2”.
To get out of the chair
By pressing “Button 1” you shall be able to reverse the functions mentioned above, therefore raising the
backrest if reclined, lowering the leg rest if raised. This function may be stopped at any time by releasing
“Button 1”. Once both parts are at their rest position, the riser recliner chair will start to slowly rise and
shift your weight forward. It is recommended to steady yourself by holding onto the armrests of the chair
while it is rising.
When the riser recliner chair reaches a height, which allows you to comfortably stand with both feet firmly
on the ground, release “Button 1”. You may wish to leave the riser recliner chair in this position so that it
will be ready for you next time you require usage of the riser recliner chair.

To get into the chair
While standing next to your riser recliner chair, press “Button 1” to raise the riser recliner chair to a height
you can sit on comfortably with both feet firmly on the ground. This height will vary from person to person.
When in position and ready, lean against the chair and press “Button 2”.
As the chair continues downward move yourself into a sitting position. Release the button when the chair
is firmly set on the floor.
To control the Leg Rest
Press “Button 2” to raise the leg rest of the riser recliner chair, you may choose to release the button at
any time when the leg rest is at the desired angle or raise this part up a full 90 degrees. If the leg rest
section reaches a full 90-degree lift, the control will automatically stop raising. Pressing “Button 1” will
reverse the functions to lower the leg rest.
To control the Backrest
Press “Button 4” to lower the backrest of the riser recliner chair, you may choose to release the button at
any time when the backrest is at the desired angle or have been lowered to a lying position. Pressing
“Button 3” will reverse the functions to raise the backrest up to a 90 degree angle.
To get out of the chair
First, ensure the backrest is in its full upright position by pressing “Button 3”. Then, by pressing “Button 1”
you shall be able to reverse the functions mentioned above, lowering the leg rest if raised. This function
may be stopped at any time by releasing “Button 1”. Once both parts are at their rest position, the riser
recliner chair will start to slowly rise and shift your weight forward. It is recommended to steady yourself
by holding onto the armrests of the chair while it is rising.
When the riser recliner chair reaches a height, which allows you to comfortably stand with both feet firmly
on the ground, release “Button 1”. You may wish to leave the riser recliner chair in this position so that it
will be ready for you next time you require usage of the riser recliner chair.
