The Electro-Voice®Xw12A full-range, two-way, floor monitor
loudspeakersystemispartofthe Electro-VoiceX-Array™ series
andisintendedforhigh-levelsoundreinforcementinfixed-installation
andtouring-soundapplications.TheXw12Aisafull-rangebiamped
floormonitorspeakersystemwhichmaybeusedwiththeElectro-
VoiceDx38digitalcrossover,theKlarkTeknikDN9848orotherhigh-
quality,signal-controllersystem.TheXw12AusesaDL12ST12-
inchwooferforlow-frequencyreproductionwithaThermalInductive
Ring,(TIR™),a nonmagneticpole piece extensionthat controls
inductanceand,mostimportantly,providesamajor heattransfer
pathfromthetopofthevoicecoiltominimizepowercompression.
For high frequencies, the Xw12A uses the ND6-16, a 3-inch
diaphragm1.4-inch-exitneodymiumcompression driver forvery
highoutput.Itsuniqueone-piece,geometricallyoptimizedtitanium
domeandsuspensioncombinedwithitshigh-energyneodymium
magneticmotorprovidemaximumefficiencyandprecisecontrolof
thediaphragmmotion.Thecompressiondriveriscoupledtoan80º
x55ºhorn.Thisflat-front,constant-directivityhornisbasedonthe
Electro-Voice HP series, and is geometrically optimized for
performancefrom1,250-20,000Hz.TheXw12Aisconstructedof
18-mm void free, 3/4-inch 12-ply curved plywood shell which is
extremelyrigid.Thebaffleandendpiecesare made from18-mm
13-plybirchplywood.Thishigh-strengthenclosureissprayedwith
aresilient,texturedblackfinishforaprofessionalappearance.The
Xw12Aenclosureincorporatesa55°concertstagemonitorangle.
Theflush-mounted,integratedhandlesonbothendsoftheenclosure
maketransportationeasy.
