1.1FUNCTIONS
The CF 4 manual potato chipper has been designed to produce a
high output of good quality chips, measuring 7x7,9x 9 or 11 x 11
square without tiring the operator.
Thanks to it being compact and easy to use, the CF 4 is suitable
for kitchens where space is at a premium.
1.2DESCRIPTION
The main elements of the CF 4 are as follows:
-a polished aluminium body with a groove to guide the vegeta-
bles.
-a control lever with a handle and connecting rod.
- a removable nylon pressure block.
- a removable grid with sharpened stainless steel cutlery blades
and a cast aluminium frame.
Note:
The CF 4 is only delivered with one grid, of the size requested. The
other grids are sold separately.
The CF 4 may be installed as follows:
2.1WITHOUT A BASE
- Fixed attachment to a table or wall console by means of three 6
mm dia. screws (not supplied).

2.2 ON A CAST IRON BASE (AVAILABLE IN OPTION)
- Allows the CF 4 to be placed on the edge of a table without it
having to be attached, and this also means that it may be easily
moved.

2.3ORGANISATION OFTHE WORK STATION
In all applications, arationally organised work station will increase
the performances of the machine and reduce unnecessary actions
and operator fatigue.
When installing the machine, check:
- the height of the work top and its surrounding environment with
respect to the user.
- the positioning of the feed and collection tubs.
3. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE
3.1FITTINGTHE GRID (FIG. I)
- The number of the cut is marked on the grid frame (e.g.: 7 = 7 x 7
mm square).
- Check that the housing is clean.
- Place the grid in the grooves of the support (cutting edges of the
blades on the pressure block side). The grid should slide down
itself: it is impossible to fit it in the wrong direction, as it can only
be fitted one way.
3.2FITTINGTHE PRESSURE BLOCK (FIG. II)
- Check the pressure block number on the top right hand side (e.g.:
7 = 7 x 7 mm square).
- With the control lever in the halfway position, fit the pressure block
onto the two guide rods then insert the connecting rod into the
space provided in the pressure block, by pulling the safety pin.
- Carefully pull the lever forwards until the pressure block enters
the grid.
- Tighten the grid retention screws and check the assembly by ope-
rating it whilst still empty.

3.3OPERATION
- With the control lever pushed back, placed a peeled potato insi-
de the groove lengthways in order to obtain long chips.
- Bring the pressure block into contact with the potato and continue
pushing in a smooth, continuous motion.
- The CF 4 is angled so that the chips fall directly into the collection
tub.
• The CF 4 can produce chips of different sizes (7 x 7, 9 x 9 and 11 x
11) by a rapid change of the grid and the pressure block.
• Each grid has a matching pressure block.
Never use a pressure block with a grid that does not match (risk
of damage).
4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
4.1CLEANING
- The pressure blocks and the grids are easily cleaned under the
tap with the aid of a brush or in the dishwasher. Keep the bottom
of the pressure block grooves very clean.
- The base, body and other parts can be easily cleaned with a sponge
(smooth surfaces with no recesses).
4.2MAINTENANCE
When using the potato chipper for the first time and afterwards pe-
riodically, clean and lubricate the pivot pins and the guide rods with
Vaseline.

6. ONEYEAR WARRANTY
•Warranty: The warranty is strictly limited to the free replacement
of any original part which is recognised as being defective by us,
due to faulty material or workmanship.
It does not cover any damage resulting from use or installation which
does not conform with the instructions and recommendations which
accompany each machine, nor from lack of maintenance or heavy-
handed use.
In all circumstances, the costs for the transport, labour and call-outs
are at the buyer’s expense.
