Installation

When you usethe ceramichob forthe first timeitcan
temporarilyemitan odour.

HeatControlKnobs
Thecontrolknobsregulatesthe heatingcapacityof the
cooking zones.
The controlknobsforthe cooking zone can be turned
tothe left and tothe right tothe desired position.
1=minimumsetting
6=maximumsetting.
Setting itback to„O“turnsoff the cooking zone.
Always putpansorpotson the cooking zones,before
switching on.

Eachcookingzone isrelatedto one indicator.The war-
ning lamplightsup when the surface of the correspon-
ding cooking zone reachesatemperaturewhichcould
cause burns.
Thislightremainslitafterthe heated-up area hasbeen
switched off aslong asthe residualheatof the corres-
ponding cooking surfacecan causeburnings.The light
will go outwhen the temperaturefallsbelow60 oC.

TheRightCooking Utensils
Saucepans and frying pans
Saucepansand frying pans should notbe smallerthan
the cooking zone,and preferablynotmorethan 10-15
mm largerthan the diameterof the cooking zone.
Always usecooking and frying utensilswithsmooth,
flatbottoms.
Thebottomsshouldalwaysbecleananddry.Cookwith
alidin place.
Checkthatthebottomsofutensilsaresmothandunda-
maged;bottomswith burrsand sharp edgeswill
scratchthe ceramicglass surface.
Scratches can alsobecaused bygrainsofsand (e.g.
originating fromthe previouswashing ofvegetables),
drawn overthe cooking surfacewiththe pan,orby
burrsand the rimsofpan bottoms.
Toavoidscratchingordamaging theceramicglasssur-
face,potsand pans should be moved on the plate by
lifting them,and notby sliding.
Utensilswith aluminiumand copperbottoms canleave
behind metallicdiscolourationswhichcanonlybe rem-
noved with difficultyorsometimesnotatall.
When cold,pan basesnormally curveslightlyinwards
byapprox.0,1-0,5mm (areconcave). In no case
shouldthey curve outwards(be convex).
Followanyguidelinesprovidedbythe saucepanmanu-
facturer.Ensuretheyarerecommended foruse on
ceramichobs.
Check that the applianceis switched off after
use.
Energy consumption
Tosave energy,you should...
Suse only cooking and frying utensilswithsmooth,
flatbottoms.
Splace potsand pansin position beforeswitching in
the cooking zone.
Swhereverpossible,coverpotsand panswithalid.
Sswitchoffthecookingzoneafewminutesbeforethe
endeofthecookingtime,inordertomakeuse ofthe
residualheat.
Susethe residualheatof the cooking zonesforkee-
ping food warm orforsmelting.
Sposition potsand pans centrallyon the cooking
zones.

Cleaning and Care
Beforecleaning,makesurethe hob iscoolanddiscon-
nected fromthe powersupply.
Neveruse aggressive orabrasive agents,such
asoven sprays,stain or rustremovers,scouring
powder,orspongeswith an abrasive effect.
Specialcleaning agents such asVitroclen andceramic
scrapersare availablefromdepartementstores,elec-
tricalspecialistshops,and in drug and grocery stores.
Cleaning aftereach use
SSlight, non-burntsoiling can be wiped off with a
dampcloth.
SBurntsoiling hastoberemoved withascraper.
Afterwardswipe off the ceramicglass surfacewith
a dampcloth,and Vitroclen.
Stainremoval
SLightmetallic stains(aluminium residues)can be
removed fromthe cooking zone with a ceramichob
cleaning agentsuch asVitroclen when cool.
SSugarsolutions, food stuffswithahigh sugarcon-
tent, plastics,orkitchen foil - mustbe removed
immediatelywithascraper. If thistype ofsoilage is
notremoved immediatelyitcan causeirrepairable
damage tothe ceramicglass surface.When the
surfacehas cooledwipe overwith a dampclothand
Vitroclen.
SBeforeusing anydetergentorcleaningagentonthe
ceramicglass top,ensuretheyarerecommended
bythe manufacturerforuse on ceramicglasshobs.
SDo notapplyany cleaning agentsto hotcooking
zones.Ensureanyresiduesarewipedoffbeforethe
cooking zonesare used again.
Specialproblems
ifa chemicalcleanerproves inadequate.... Check whetherthe use ofascraperismore effective.
when darks stainsoccur.... If the use ofascraperand a stainless steelcleaning
agentprovesunsuccessful,yourdecorsurface has
mostlikelybeen abraded byusing unsuitablecleaning
agents,orbypan bottomswithascouring effect. This
will notimpairthe efficiency ofyourcooking surface.
whenmetallicdiscolouration appearon the.... cooking zones Potsand panswith unsuitable bottoms,orunsuitable
cleaning agentshave been used.The discolorations
can onlybe removed withconsiderable effort, using a
ceramicglass orstainless steelcleaning agent.
whenthe surface shows scratches or.... impressionsThese blemishes,caused by scraping or melted on
objects,cannotbe removed.Thiswill notimpairthe
efficiency ofyourcooking surface.

420 mm.Ifitisfitted below420 mm aspace of55 mm
mustbe allowed fromthe edgesof the hob.
