WARNINGS
It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance for future
reference. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house
and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is supplied with the appliance in order that the
new owner can be ac uainted with the functioning of the appliance and the relevant warnings.
If this appliance featuring magnetic door seals is to replace an older appliance having a spring lock
(latch) on the door or lid, be sure to make that spring lock unusable before you discard the old
appliance. This will prevent it from becoming a death-trap for a child.
These warnings are provided in the interest of safety.You must read them carefully before installing or
using the appliance.
General Safety
• This appliance is designed t be perated by
adults. Children sh uld n t be all wed t tamper
with the c ntr ls r play with the pr duct.
• It is danger us t alter the specificati ns r
m dify this pr duct in any way.
• Bef re any cleaning r maintenance w rk is carried
ut, be sure t switch ff and unplug the appliance.
• This appliance is heavy. Care sh uld be taken
when m ving it
• Ice l llies can cause fr st burns if c nsumed
straight fr m the appliance.
• Take utmost care when handling your
appliance so as not to cause any damages to
the cooling unit with conse uent possible
fluid leakages.
• The appliance must not be located close to
radiators or gas cookers.
• Avoid prolonged exposure of the appliance to
direct sunlight.
• There must be ade uate ventilation round the
back of the appliance and any damage to the
refrigerant circuit must be avoided.
• For freezers only (except built-in models): an
ideal location is the cellar or basement.
• Do not use other electrical appliances (such
as ice cream makers) inside of refrigerating
appliances.
Service/Repair
• Any electrical w rk required t install this
appliance sh uld be carried ut by a qualified
electrician r c mpetent pers n
• This pr duct sh uld be serviced by an auth rized
Service Centre, and nly genuine spare parts
sh uld be used.
• Under n circumstances sh uld y u attempt t
repair the appliance y urself. Repairs carried ut
by inexperienced pers ns may cause injury r
m re seri us malfuncti ning. Refer t y ur l cal
Service Centre, and always insist n genuine
spare parts.
• This appliance c ntains hydr carb ns in its
c ling unit; maintenance and recharging must
theref re nly be carried ut by auth rized
technicians.
Use
• The d mestic refrigerat rs and freezers are
designed t be used specifically f r the st rage
f edible f dstuffs nly.
• Best perf rmance is btained with ambient
temperature between +18°C and +43°C (class T);
+18°C and +38°C (class ST); +16°C and +32°C
(class N); +10°C and +32°C (class SN). The
class f y ur appliance is sh wn n its rating
plate.
Warning: when the ambient temperature is n t
included within the range indicated f r the class
f this appliance, the f ll wing instructi ns must
be bserved: when the ambient temperature
dr ps bel w the minimum level, the st rage
temperature in the freezer c mpartment cann t
be guaranteed; theref re it is advisable t use the
f d st red as s n as p ssible.
• Fr zen f d must n t be re-fr zen nce it has
been thawed ut.
• Manufacturers’ st rage rec mmendati ns sh uld
be strictly adhered t . Refer t relevant
instructi ns.
• The inner lining f the appliance c nsists f
channels thr ugh which the refrigerant passes. If
these sh uld be punctured this w uld damage the
appliance bey nd repair and cause f d l ss. DO

• D n t place carb nated r fizzy drinks in the
freezer as it creates pressure n the c ntainer,
which may cause it t expl de, resulting in
damage t the appliance. D n t use a
mechanical device r any artificial means t
speed up the thawing pr cess ther than th se
rec mmended by the manufacturer. Never use
metal bjects f r cleaning y ur appliance as it
may get damaged.
Installation
• During n rmal perati n, the c ndenser and
c mpress r at the back f the appliance heat up
c nsiderably. F r safety reas ns, minimum
ventilati n must be as sh wn in the instructi ns.
Attention: keep ventilation openings clear of
obstruction.
• Care must be taken t ensure that the appliance
d es n t stand n the electrical supply cable.
Important: if the supply c rd is damaged, it must
be replaced by a special c rd r assembly availa-
ble fr m the manufacturer r its service agent.
• If the appliance is transp rted h riz ntally, it is
p ssible that the il c ntained in the c mpress r
fl ws in the refrigerant circuit. It is advisable t
wait at least tw h urs bef re c nnecting the
appliance t all w the il t fl w back in the
c mpress r.
• There are w rking parts in this pr duct which
heat up. Always ensure that there is adequate
ventilati n as a failure t d this will result in
c mp nent failure and p ssible f d l ss. See
installati n instructi ns.
• Parts which heat up sh uld n t be exp sed.
Wherever p ssible the back f the pr duct sh uld
be against a wall.
Environment Protection
This appliance does not contain gasses which
could damage the ozone layer, in either its
refrigerant circuit or insulation materials. The
appliance shall not be discarded together with
the urban refuse and rubbish. Avoid damaging
the cooling unit, especially at the rear near the
heat exchanger. Information on your local
disposal sites may be obtained from municipal
authorities. The materials used on this appliance
marked by the symbol are recyclable.

Changing the opening direction of
the doors
Bef re carrying ut any perati ns, rem ve the plug
fr m the p wer s cket.
T change the pening directi n f the d r,
pr ceed as f ll ws:
1. pull ff the ventilati n grille (D) which is clipped
int place;
2. rem ve the b tt m hinge (E) by unscrewing its
fixing screws;
3. rem ve the l wer d r, sliding it ut f the
middle hinge;
4. unscrew the middle hinge (H);
5. rem ve the upper d r, releasing it fr m the
upper pin (G);
6. unscrew the upper pin (G) and refit it n the
pp site side;
7. rem ve the tw plugs f the d r (where
available), disc vering the h les f r the hinge
pins, assemble them n the pp site side and
refit the upper d r;
8. reassemble the middle hinge n the pp site
side;
9. reassemble the l wer d r;
10. using a 10 mm spanner, unscrew the hinge pin
(E) and reassemble it n the pp site side f the
hinge;
11. reassemble the l wer hinge (E) n the pp site
side, using the screws previ usly rem ved. Slide
the h le c ver (F) ut f the ventilati n grille (D)
by pushing it in the directi n f the arr w and
reassemble it n the pp site side;
12. refit the ventilati n grille (D), clipping it int
place.
13. Unscrew the handles. Re½t them n the
pp site side.
T line up the d rs, it is p ssible t adjust the
middle hinge (H) h riz ntally by means f a t l,
after slackening the tw screws (see figure).
Warning:
After having reversed the opening direction of
the doors check that all the screws are properly
tightened and that the magnetic seal adheres to
the cabinet. If the ambient temperature is c ld (i.e.
in Winter), the gasket may n t fit perfectly t the
cabinet. In that case, wait f r the natural fitting f the
gasket r accelerate this pr cess by heating up the
part inv lved with a n rmal hairdrier.

Cleaning the interior
Bef re using the appliance f r the first time, wash
the interi r and all internal access ries with luke-
warm water and s me neutral s ap s as t rem ve
the typical smell f a brand-new pr duct, then dry
th r ughly.
USE

powders, as these will damage the finish.

The temperature can be set between -15°C and -24°C.
When butt n (I) r (J) is pressed, the set temperature
appears flashing n the indicat r (H). It is nly p ssible t
m dify the set temperature when the indicat r is
flashing. T set a warmer temperature, press butt n (G),
t set a c lder temperature, press butt n (I). The
indicat r c ntinues f r a few sec nds t display the
temperature just set, then it reverts t indicating the
temperature inside the secti n.
The pr grammed temperature will be reached within 24
h urs.
Attention!
During the stabilisati n peri d when the appliance is first
run, the temperature displayed may n t c rresp nd t
the temperature set. During this peri d, it is p ssible f r
the temperature displayed t be l wer than the
temperature set.
J.Temperature indicator
During n rmal perati n, the average temperature f the
freezer secti n is displayed.
Attention!
A difference between the displayed temperature and the
set temperature is n rmal. In particular when:
- the set temperature has recently been m dified
- the d r has been pen f r a l ng time
- h t f d has been put in the freezer.
Differences f up t 5°C inside the secti n are n rmal.

Electrical connection
Bef re plugging in, ensure that the v ltage and
frequency sh wn n the serial number plate
c rresp nd t y ur d mestic p wer supply. V ltage
can vary by ±6% f the rated v ltage.
F r perati n with different v ltages, a suitably sized
aut -transf rmer must be used.
The appliance must be earthed.
The p wer supply cable plug is pr vided with a
c ntact f r this purp se.
If the d mestic p wer supply s cket is n t earthed,
c nnect the appliance t a separate earth in
c mpliance with current regulati ns, c nsulting a
specialist technician.
The Manufacturer declines all responsibility if
the above safety precautions are not observed.
This appliance c mplies with the f ll wing
E.E.C. Directives:

Rear spacers
In the bag with the documentation, there are two
spacers which must be fitted in the two top
corners.
Slacken the screws and insert the spacer under the
screw head, then re-tighten the screws.

Attention!
When t use the Fr stmatic functi n:
Conservation of deep-frozen food
At the time f startup r after a peri d ut f acti n,
place the f d in the appliance after having run it f r
at least tw h urs in Acti n Freeze m de, then take
it ut f this m de.
Important
In the event of accidental thawing, for example
through interruption to the power supply, if the
length of the period of interruption is higher than
the value indicated in the technical data table
under the heading "recovery period", it will be
necessary to consume the food rapidly or to
cook it immediately and refreeze it (once it has
cooled down).
Freezing fresh food
The secti n is suitable f r freezing fresh
f d and f r l ng-term c nservati n f fr zen and
deep-fr zen f d.
F r freezing fresh f d, activate the Acti n freeze
functi n at least 24 h urs in advance.
Place the f d t be fr zen in the t p secti n as it is
the c ldest p int.
M. Alarm warning light
N. Alarm disarming button
An abn rmal rise in the temperature f the freezer
secti n (e.g. electrical p wer failure) is indicated by
warning light (M) flashing, and by an audible signal.
When c nditi ns return t n rmal, the audible signal will
switch ff, while the alarm warning light c ntinues t
flash.
If the alarm butt n (N) is pressed, the indicat r (H)
displays f r a few sec nds the warmest temperature
reached in the secti n. The audible signal, if s unding,
will switch ff.
Startup and temperature
adjustment
• Insert the plug in the mains s cket. Press butt n
(G). The freezer secti n is n w running.The
freezer secti n is set t a temperature f -18°C.
This temperature will be reached in several
h urs.
• As s n as the freezer is running, the indicat r
(H) displays the current temperature in the
freezer, the alarm warning light (M) flashes and
the audible signal is activated.
• Press the alarm butt n (N)
• The audible signal switches ff, while the alarm
warning light (M) c ntinues t flash until the set
temperature is reached.
Ice-cube production
This appliance is equipped with ne r m re trays
f r the pr ducti n f ice-cubes. Fill these trays with
water, then put them in the freezer c mpartment.
Do not use metallic instruments to remove the
trays from the freezer.
Thawing
Deep-fr zen r fr zen f d, pri r t being used, can
be thawed in the refrigerat r c mpartment r at
r m temperature, depending n the time available
f r this perati n.
Small pieces may even be c ked still fr zen,
directly fr m the freezer: in this case, c king will
take l nger.

Location
The appliance sh uld be installed well away fr m
s urces f heat such as radiat rs, b ilers, direct
sunlight etc. F r safety reas ns, minimum ventilati n
must be as sh wn in Fig.

With the Superc ling functi n, the fridge is set t
maximum perf rmance. This is rec mmended when
large quantities f f d are intr duced.
Press the Superc ling functi n butt n (F). The
Superc ling warning light (E) lights up. The internal
temperature g es d wn t +2°C.
After ab ut 6 h urs, the Superc ling functi n
deactivates aut matically.
Startup and temperature
adjustment.
Insert the plug in the mains s cket. Press butt n (A). The
fridge secti n is n w running.
The fridge secti n is set t a temperature f +5°C. This
temperature will be reached in several h urs.
As s n as the fridge secti n is switched n, the
indicat r (B) displays the current temperature in the
fridge secti n.

If the appliance is n t functi ning pr perly, check
that:
• the plug is firmly in the wall s cket and the mains
p wer switch is n;
• there is an electricity supply (find ut by plugging
in an ther appliance);
• the therm stat kn b is in the c rrect p siti n.
• If there are water dr ps n the b tt m f the
cabinet, check that the defr st water drain
pening is n t bstructed (see “Defr sting”
secti n).
• If y ur appliance is still n t w rking pr perly after
making the ab ve checks, c ntact the nearest
service centre.
T btain fast service, it is essential that when y u
apply f r it y u specify the m del and serial number
f y ur appliance which can be f und n the
guarantee certificate r n the rating plate l cated
inside the appliance, n the b tt m left-hand side.

Positioning the door shelves
T permit st rage f f d packages f vari us sizes,
the d r shelves can be placed at different heights.
T make these adjustments pr ceed as f ll ws:
Gradually pull the shelf in the directi n f the arr ws
until it c mes free, then rep siti n as required.
Bottle holder
Place the b ttles (with the pening facing fr nt) in
the pre-p siti ned shelf.
If the shelf is p siti ned h riz ntally, place nly
cl sed b ttles.
This b ttle h lder shelf can be tilted in rder t st re
previ usly pened b ttles.
T btain this result, pull the shelf up s it can r tate
upwards and be placed n the next higher level.

Humidity control
The glass shelf inc rp rates a device with slits
(adjustable by means f a sliding lever), which
makes it p ssible t regulate the temperature in the
vegetable drawer(s).
Cl se the sl ts t btain a warmer temperature and
greater humidity.
Open the sl ts t btain a c ler temperature and
less humidity.
Drawer
The drawer is suitable f r st ring fruit and
vegetables.
There is a separat r inside the drawer that can be
placed in different p siti ns t all w f r the
subdivisi n best suited t pers nal needs.

Defrosting
Fr st is aut matically eliminated fr m the evap rat r
f the refrigerat r c mpartment every time the m t r
c mpress r st ps, during n rmal use. The defr st
water drains ut thr ugh a tr ugh int a special
c ntainer at the back f the appliance, ver the
m t r c mpress r, where it evap rates.
It is important to periodically clean the defrost
water drain hole in the middle of the refrigerator
compartment channel to prevent the water
overflowing and dripping onto the food inside.
Use the special cleaner provided, which you will
find already inserted into the drain hole.
The freezer c mpartment, h wever, will bec me
pr gressively c vered with fr st. This sh uld be
rem ved with the special plastic scraper pr vided,
whenever the thickness f the fr st exceeds 4 mm.
During this perati n it is n t necessary t switch ff
the p wer supply r t rem ve the f dstuffs.
H wever, when the ice bec mes very thick n the
inner liner, c mplete defr sting sh uld be carried ut
as f ll ws:
1. pull ut the plug fr m the wall s cket r switch ff
the secti n;
2. rem ve any st red f d, wrap it in several layers
f newspaper and put it in a c l place;
3. leave the d r pen, and insert the plastic
scraper in the appr priate seating at the b tt m
centre, placing a basin underneath t c llect the
defr st water.
4. when defr sting is c mpleted, dry the interi r
th r ughly; keep the scraper f r future use;
5. turn the therm stat kn b back t the required
setting r replace the plug in the p wer s cket.
6. After tw r three h urs, rel ad the previ usly
rem ved f d int the c mpartment.
Important:
Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off frost
from the evaporator as you could damage it.
Do not use a maechanical device or any artificial
means to speed up the thawing process other
than those recommended by the manufacturer.
A temperature rise of the frozen food packs,
during defrosting, may shorten their safe storage
life.

HINTS
Hints for storage of frozen food
T btain the best perf rmance fr m this appliance,
y u sh uld:
• be sure that fr zen f dstuffs are transferred
fr m the f dst re t the freezer in the sh rtest
p ssible time;
• n t pen the d r frequently r leave it pen
l nger than abs lutely necessary.
• Once defr sted, f d deteri rates rapidly and
cann t be refr zen.
Hints for freezing
T help y u make the m st f the freezing pr cess,
here are s me imp rtant hints:
• the maximum quantity f f d which can be
fr zen in 24 hrs. is sh wn n the rating plate;
• the freezing pr cess takes 24 h urs. N further
f d t be fr zen sh uld be added during this
peri d;
• prepare f d in small p rti ns t enable it t be
rapidly and c mpletely fr zen and t make it
p ssible subsequently t thaw nly the quantity
required;
• wrap up the f d in aluminium f il r p lythene
and make sure that the packages are airtight;
• d n t all w fresh, unfr zen f d t t uch f d
which is already fr zen, thus av iding a rise in
temperature f the latter;
• water ices, if c nsumed immediately after
rem val fr m the freezer c mpartment, can
p ssibly cause the skin t be freeze burnt;
• it is advisable t sh w the freezing-in date n
each individual pack t enable y u t keep tab f
the st rage time;
• The symb ls n the drawers sh w different types
f fr zen g ds.
The numbers indicate st rage times in m nths f r
the appr priate types f fr zen g ds. Whether
the upper r l wer value f the indicated st rage
time is valid depends n the quality f the f ds
and pre-treating bef re freezing.
• do not put carbonated li uids (fizzy drinks,
etc.) in the freezer compartment as they may
burst.
Hints for refrigeration
Useful hints:
Meat (all types): wrap in p lythene bags and place
n the glass shelf ab ve the vegetable drawer.
For safety, store in this way only one or two days
at the most.
Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc..: these sh uld be
c vered and may be placed n any shelf.
Fruit and vegetables: these sh uld be th r ughly

MAINTENANCE
Unplug the appliance before carrying out
any maintenance operation.

Periods of non-operation

Periodic cleaning
Clean the inside with warm water and bicarb nate f
s da. Rinse and dry th r ughly.
Many proprietary kitchen surface cleaners
contain chemicals that can attack/damage the
plastics used in this appliance. For this reason it
is recommended that the outer casing of this
appliance is only cleaned with warm water with a
little washing-up li uid added. Clean the
c ndenser (black grill) and the c mpress r at the
back f the appliance with a brush r a vacuum
cleaner. This persti n will impr ve the perf rmance
f the appliance and save electricity c nsumpti n.
Illumination lamp
If it bec mes necessary t replace the lamp, press
n the rear h k and at the same time
slide the c ver in the directi n indicated by the arr w.
Attention:
Replace the lamp with ne f the same p wer (the
maximum p wer is sh wn n the light diffuser).
