InstallationProcess
Thenecessaryfile(s) toinstall thetoolkitarecontainedinthe“OTAToolkit”folder locatedonthedocumentationCD.Thefollowingsteps
describehowtoinstalland runtheremoteconfigurationGUIapplication.
Create Source Directory
NOTE: Over theairconfiguration and updates can onlybe performedonmodems that areineitherthe Gateway or AVLoperating mode.
1. Createa directorywhereall thefileswill bestoredonyour computer’s c:\drive(e.g. OTAToolkit)

2. InserttheCD intoyour computer and locatethe pluscfg.jar file.
3. Copythe pluscfg.jar filetothenewlycreateddirectory.
RuntheApplication
1. ToruntheRemoteConfiguration application, locatethe pluscfg.jar file.
NOTE: Make sure that your host computer isconnected tothe Internet.
2. Double-click onthe.jar filetolaunchtheapplication.
3. The iR1600 RemoteConfiguration windowappearswith“NoConnectionSelected”onthescreens’ title.

EnterConnectionParameters
1. Fromthe RemoteConfiguration window, selectthe FileàConnect optionfromthewindow’s toolbar.
2. The Connection windowopens. Click ontheblankfieldsunder eachcolumn headingandenter thefollowingparameters:
•IPaddress ofremotemodem(s) thatyouwanttoconfigure.
•Portnumber oftheremotemodem(s) thatyouwantto configure.
•Enable(true) or disable(false) theCipherOnparameter, ifapplicable.
•Decipher key number, ifapplicable.
NOTE: All the fields willbeblankwhen you initially accesstheRemote Configuration application.
3. Clickthe Save button tosavetheinformationentered.
4. Repeat steps 2and 3for additionalremotemodems.

5. Theinformationenteredfor eachcolumn will appear on thebottomportion ofthescreen. Click onthe OK toclosethe
windowwhenyouaredoneenteringall theinformation.
Connect toRemote Modem
1. Fromthe RemoteConfiguration window, selectthe Connect option.

2. The Connection windowopens. Locateand selecttheIP address oftheremotemodem thatyouwanttoconnectwith.
Theconnectioninformationappearson thebottomportionofthescreen. Click onthe OK toclosethewindow.
3. Youarereturnedtothe iR1600 RemoteConfiguration window. NoticethatthewindownowdisplaystheIP address of
theremotemodemonthetitlebar.Clickthe Refresh button toinitiateconnection. Amessageconfirmingtheconnection
attempt appears.
NOTE: Theremotemodem’soperating modemust be set to Gatewaymode and theRestrict Support IP mustbe set to “NO”for connection to
be successful.
NOTE: You mayexperience aslightdelay(a fewseconds) this is because theapplication is trying to acquire theremotemodem’s
parameters todisplay.
4. If theconnection totheremotemodemwassuccessful, theremotemodem’s valueswillbedisplayedontheupper portion
ofthe iR1600 RemoteConfiguration window.

TheSaveConfiguration optionallowsyoutosavetheremotemodem’s currentor modifiedsettingstoa specific filelocationor disk.
1. Configureor changethevaluesofthemodem’s parameter, asnecessary.
2. Tosavethisconfigurationselect FileàSave Config.The Save screenappears.
3. Usethedrop-downarrow onthe SaveIn: fieldof thescreentolocateandselectthedirectoryor folder wherethefilewill
bestored.
4. Enter thenameofthefileinthe FileName: fieldofthe screenthen click the Save button.

LoadConfiguration
TheLoadConfiguration optionallowsyoutoloada previouslysavedconfiguration toa remotemodem.
1. Toloadsavedconfigurationsselect FileàLoadConfig.The Open screenappears.
2. Usethedrop-downarrow onthe LookIn: fieldof thescreentolocatethedirectoryor folderwherethedesiredfileis
stored.
3. Click onthedesiredfilefromthelist of storedfiles. Theselectedfilewillappear in the File Name: field.
4. Click the Open buttontoloadthesavedconfigurations.
Write Configuration
TheWriteConfigurationoptionallowsyoutosendtheloadedconfiguration informationtotheremotemodem.

1. Tosendtheloadedconfigurationstotheremotemodemselect FileàWriteConfig. Amessageboxappears.
2. Selectthe Start buttontosendtheconfigurationtothemodem. Amessagewillappear whiletheinformationis being
sent.
3. Whenthestatusbar(locatedatthebottomof thescreen)displays“100%”, thesendprocess iscomplete.
4. Click the“X”icontoclosethewindow.
