method of wiring your new light fixture. If you feel you
do not have enough electrical wiring knowledge or
experience, have your light fixture installed by a
licensed electrician. Any electrical work not described
in this manual should be performed by a licensed
electrician.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of possible fire and
electrical shock, install only on Emerson CF Series
Ceiling Fans in indoor locations. This light kit is not to be
used on Emerson CF Series Ceiling Fans installed in
damp or wet locations.
1. Read your Owner's Manual carefully before installing
the light fixture. Retain Owner's Manual for future
reference.
2. Be careful of the fan and blades when cleaning,
painting, or working near the fan. Before installing or
servicing the light fixture or ceiling fan, switch power
off at service panel and lock service panel
disconnecting means to prevent power from being
switched on accidentally. When the service
disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely
fasten a warning device, such as a tag, to the service
panel.
3. Do not exceed the wattage indicated on fixture.
DATE CODE:
The date code of this light fixture may be found on the box, stamped in ink on a white label. You should
record this data above and keep it in a safe place for future use.

Before assembling your light fixture, refer to section
on proper method of wiring your light fixture. If you
feel you do not have enough wiring knowledge or
experience, have your fan installed by a licensed
electrician.

2. Electrical Requirements
If your light fixture is to replace an existing ceiling light
fixture, turn electricity off at the main fuse box at this
time and remove the existing light fixture.
Do not install or use the light fixture if any part is
missing or damaged. Contact your dealer for
replacement.

Turning off wall switch is not sufficient. To avoid
possible electrical shock, be sure electricity is turned
off at the main fuse box before wiring. All wiring must
be in accordance with National and Local codes and
the ceiling fan must be properly grounded as a
precaution against possible electrical shock.

To avoid fire or shock, follow all wiring instructions
carefully.
Any electrical work not described in these
instructions should be done or approved by a licensed
electrician.

installation and operation of this light fixture.

Remove the switch cup from the cover plate by
removing the three screws (retain for future use)
around the side of the switch cup (Figure 1).
Disconnect the motor connector from the switch cup
connector (Figure 1).
Remove the center screw from the switch cup
(Figure 1).

Carefully locate the white and blue wires (labeled either
"L" or "LIGHT") in the switch cup and remove the wire
connectors from the wires (Figure 2).
Retain wire connectors for future installation.

CAUTION: DO NOT touch the LED’s, located on
the LED light fixture, due to the possibility of static
discharge destroying the assembly.
Remove the hex nut and washer from the top of the
LED light fixture assembly (Figure 3).
Retain the hex nut and washer for future installation.
Insert the black and white wires from the LED light
fixture assembly through the center hole in the switch
cup (Figure 3) and thread the switch cup onto the LED
light fixture assembly.
To prevent the wires from twisting, hold wires taut while
installing LED light fixture assembly onto the switch
cup.
Tighten the LED light fixture assembly until the fan
switch chain aligns and is routed through the fixture
chain guide and one of the holes in the fixture flange
(Figure 3).

Insert the black and white wires through the lockwasher
and hex nut (previously removed in Step 3.4), firmly
tighten the hex nut to secure the LED light fixture
assembly to the switch cup (Figure 4).

Use listed wire connectors (previously removed in
Step 3.3) to make connections (Figures 5 and 6).

Reconnect the motor connector to the switch cup/LED
light fixture assembly connector until you hear an
audible snap (Figure 7).
Carefully tuck all wires, connectors and splices into the
switch cup.

Position the switch cup/LED light fixture assembly onto
the cover plate (Figure 8).
Reinstall and tighten securely, the three screws that
were previously removed in Step 3.2 into the switch cup
(Figure 8).
WARNING: To avoid possible fire or electrical
shock, make certain no bare wire strands are
exposed outside wire connectors.
To avoid possible fire or electric shock, be careful not
to pinch wires between switch cup and the cover plate.

Connect the white wire from the switch cup to the white
wire of the LED light fixture assembly using the
previously removed wire connector from Step 3.3
(Figure 5).
Connect the blue wire from the switch cup to the black
wire of the LED light fixture assembly using the
previously removed wire connector from Step 3.3
(Figure 5).

Depending on the fan model, insert the fan speed
control switch chain through the offset hole in the glass
bowl (Figure 9).
Insert the LED light fixture assembly chain through the
center hole in the glass bowl (Figure 9).
Gently place the glass bowl onto the LED light fixture
assembly (Figure 9).
NOTE: It is critical that the fan chain(s) are aligned with
hole(s) in the glass bowl for smooth operation of the fan
switch(es).
3.11
Secure the glass by installing the rubber washer and the
hex nut finger tight (Figure 10).
NOTE: The bowl cap comes with three options: no holes,
one hole and two holes for pull chain options.
NOTE: The finial nut comes with two options: no holes
and one hole for pull chain options.
Then place the bowl cap onto the threaded stud of the
LED light fixture assembly, route the fan speed control
chain through the offset hole and the LED light fixture
assembly chain through the center hole (Figure 10).
Install and tighten the threaded finial nut onto the
threaded stud of the LED light fixture assembly
(Figure 10).
NOTE: It is advisable to periodically check the tightness
of the finial nut.
NOTE: It is critical that the fan chain(s) are aligned with
hole(s) in the glass bowl and bowl cap for smooth
operation of the fan switch(es).

Connect the wood pendant (supplied) to the switch pull
chain by sliding the wood pendant (small hole first) onto
the pull chain (Figure 11).
Attach the chain coupling to the end of the chain and
allow the wood pendant to fall down over the
coupling (Figure 11).

4.2
Remove the switch housing cover from switch housing
below ceiling fan by unscrewing the two switch housing
cover screws (retain the screws for future use)
(Figure 12).

Carefully pull down white and blue wires from the
switch housing and remove wire connectors
(Figure 13).
Retain wire connectors for future installation.

CAUTION: DO NOT touch the LED’s, located on
the LED light fixture, due to the possibility of static
discharge destroying the assembly.
Remove the hex nut and lockwasher from the top of the
LED light fixture assembly threaded stud (Figure 14).
Retain the hex nut and lockwasher for future
installation.
Pass the white and black wires of the LED light fixture
assembly through the cover and thread the cover onto
the threaded stud. Securely hand tighten the cover.
Pass the white and black wires through the lockwasher
and hex nut, and install on the threaded stud.
Secure the LED light fixture assembly to the cover by
tightening the hex nut using a wrench.(Figure 14).

Connect the white wire from the switch cup to the white
wire of the LED light fixture assembly using the
previously removed wire connector from Step 4.3
(Figure 15).
Connect the blue wire from the switch cup to the black
wire of the LED light fixture assembly using the
previously removed wire connector from Step 4.3
(Figure 15).

Carefully tuck all wires and splices into the switch
housing (Figure 18).
Install the switch cover/LED light fixture assembly by
securely tightening the two double knurled knobs onto
the the two 14mm threaded studs (Figure 18).
Position the fan speed control switch chain until it aligns
and is routed through one of the holes in the fixture
flange (Figure 18).
To avoid possible fire or electrical shock, be careful
not to pinch wires between the switch housing and the
light fixture.

Secure the glass by installing the rubber washer and the
hex nut finger tight (Figure 20).
NOTE: The bowl cap comes with three options: no holes,
one hole and two holes for pull chain options.
NOTE: The finial nut comes with two options: no holes
and one hole for pull chain options.
Then place the bowl cap onto the threaded stud of the
LED light fixture assembly, route the fan speed control
chain through the outer hole and the light fixture control
chain through the center hole (Figure 20).
Install and tighten the finial nut onto the threaded stud of
the LED light fixture assembly (Figure 20).
NOTE: It is advisable to periodically check the tightness
of the finial nut.
NOTE: It is critical that the fan chain(s) are aligned with
hole(s) in the glass bowl and bowl cap for smooth
operation of the fan switch(es).

Connect the wood pendant (supplied) to the switch pull
chain by sliding the wood pendant (small hole first) onto
the pull chain (Figure 21).
Attach the chain coupling to the end of the chain and
allow the wood pendant to fall down over the
coupling (Figure 21).

Emerson Electric Co. will replace a defective Emerson Light Fixture at no charge to you. WE WILL SHIP THE REPAIRED PRODUCT
OR REPLACEMENT TO YOU AT NO CHARGE, BUT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COSTS OF REMOVAL, REINSTALLATION AND
SHIPPING OF THE PRODUCT TO EMERSON ELECTRIC CO.
How Can You Get Service:
YOU MUST HAVE PROOF OF YOUR PURCHASE OF THE LIGHT FIXTURE TO OBTAIN LIMITED WARRANTY SERVICE. KEEP YOUR
RECEIPT OR OTHER PROOF OF PURCHASE. You can return the product to our factory or to your nearest authorized service center.
• To return the product to the factory, obtain a return authorization and service identification tag by writing to Air Comfort Products,
Division of Emerson Electric Co., 8100 W. Florissant Ave., St. Louis, MO 63136. Include all model numbers shown on the product
with your request.
• To return the product to an authorized service center, call 1-800-654-3545 for the address of the nearest authorize
service center.
You will be responsible for all insurance, freight or other transportation charges to our factory or authorized service center. Your
Emerson Light Fixture should be properly packed to avoid damage in transit since we will not be responsible for any such damage.
What Is Not Covered:
This warranty also does not cover any defects, malfunctions or failures caused by:
• Repairs by persons not authorized by Emerson Electric Co.,
• Use of parts or accessories not authorized by Emerson Electric Co.,
• Mishandling, improper installation, modifications or damage to your light fixture while in your possession, or
• Unreasonable use, misuse, abuse, including failing to do reasonable and necessary maintenance, and normal wear and tear.
Additionally, this warranty and any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are voided when:
• The original purchaser or user ceases to own the product, or
• The ceiling fan is moved from its original point of installation.
This warranty is only valid within the 50 states of the United States and the District of Columbia. No other written or oral warranties
apply, and no employee, agent, dealer or other person is authorized to give any warranties on behalf of Emerson Electric Co.
REPAIR, REPLACEMENT OR A REFUND ARE THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES AVAILABLE UNDER THIS WARRANTY AND EMERSON IS
NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Incidental damages
include but are not limited to such damages as loss of time and loss of use. Consequential damages include but are not limited to the
