LISTENING FOR A LIFETIME
4-CHANNEL VHF PROFESSIONAL-Wireless Microphone System
WM340
Congratulations on purchasing this fine audio product. We want your audio experience to be
fun and exciting, without damage to your health. Take a little time to understand how to
operate your product at safe levels and avoid hearing damage to yourself and others. Proper
use will protect your product and yourself.
Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing comfort level adapts to a higher volume of
sound. What may have started out as uncomfortable loudness has become tolerable. Although
your tolerance may have increased, your hearing is still be exposed to harmful levels.
Prolonged exposure to harmful levels will cause damage that cannot be repaired. Now what
sounds normal can actually be loud and harmful. Guard against this by setting your equipment
at a safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.
Establish safe levels of sound by always starting with your volume set to low, then gradually
increase to comfortable levels. If you hear distortion in the sound, it's a good indication your
equipment is being pushed to its limits and the volume is too high.
Used wisely, your sound equipment will provide a lifetime of fun and enjoyment. Hearing
damage from loud noise is often undetectable until is too late. This manufacturer and the
Electronic Industries Association’s Consumer Electronics Group recommend you avoid
prolonged exposure to excessive noise. Below is a list of sound levels and their decibel ratings.
This can help you understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy exposure to
sound.
Example
Subway, Motorcycle, Truck traffic, Lawn mower
Garbage truck, Chainsaw, Pneumatics drill
Rock band concert in front of speakers
Gunshot blast, Jet plane
Rocket launching pad

Microphone (Transmitter)
1. The microphone grill protects the delicate microphone cartridge. Inside the grill is a foam
windscreen that helps reduce ambient noise like wind and breathing and also helps keep the
internal components free of dirt or foreign material.
2. The battery cover can be removed by unscrewing it to expose the battery inside. Keep battery
cover tight to maintain proper battery connection. Caution: overtightening plastic battery cover
may cause damage to microphone body.
Receiver (Receives signal from transmitters)
Front Panel Controls
1. Antennas A,B,C,D to match the corresponding microphone's frequency setting. Each
microphone has a unique frequency so as not to interefere with each other.
2. Power Switch: Turns receiver On/Off
3. Echo Switch: Adjust the level of the echo function.
4. Volume controls A,B,C,D are for adjusting each microphone's volume. Individual control allows
for a better mixing of various singer voice levels.
5. Microphone input jacks (6.3mm) for adding two more corded microphones for a potential
mixing of six microphones.
6. Microphone volume control for corded microphones. Both microphones share one volume
control allowing for five mixing controls on the receiver.

1. Turn the receiver POWER switch On.
2. Turn the microphone(s) on by rotating the power knob to On. The red LED light will glow,
then go out. This is normal.
3. Talk or sing into the microphone(s) and adjust the volumes until you reach the desired
output level. Adjust echo control accordingly.
4. Tips for achieving optimum performance
- It's easiest to adjust volumes with two people. To avoid feedback, have one person stand
away from receiver and speakers while second person adjusts volumes and echo.
- Place the receiver at least 3 feet above the ground and away from concrete walls or metal
surfaces to prevent frequency reflections or interference. The microphone(s) should also be
at least 3 feet away from the receiver antennas.
- If using multiple wireless systems, maintain a distance of at least 10 feet from each other.
- Maintain a line-of-sight between the microphone and receiver antennas.
- Avoid placing the receiver near computers or radio frequency generating equipment.
- Extend the telescopic antennas to full length.
- Position the microphone close to your mouth and move accordingly for achieving desired
sound results.
- Move the microphone closer to your mouth for extra bass response.
- Use only one microphone per person.
- Keep microphone(s) away from sound-reflecting surfaces.
- Add a windscreen when using the microphone outdoors or for close-up speech.
Windscreens are also spit guards.
- Avoid excessive handling to minimize mechanical noise.
- Exercise patience when setting controls. They are delicate and will have to be adjusted for
different music or singer voice types.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEMS
No sound: Receiver RF light (s)
and Mic (s) not lit
No Receiver sound but the RF
and Audio Level meter lights are
glowing
Receiver signal is noisy or contains
Interference with transmitter on.
Noise coming from the Receiver
with the Mics turned OFF
Momentary loss of sound as
Transmitter Is moved around
performing area.
SOLUTIONS
Make sure POWER switches on transmitters
and receiver are set to ON positions .
Check microphone batteries to ensure they are
providing power. Replace battery if necessary.
Check receiver's AC power connection. Make
sure antennas are In the microphones's line
of sight. If necessary, reduce the distance
between the microphones and receiver
Turn up the Receiver's VOLUME level controls.
Check for proper connection between receiver
and external amplifier /mixer.
Talk into the Microphone and observe the
Receiver's RF signal LEDs, If they glow, the
problem is elsewhere in the sound system
Check Microphone batteries or replace if power
is low. Remove local sources of RF interference,
such as lighting equipments, Two transmitters
may be operating at the same frequencies or
frequencies which are too close in proximity.
Turn one off or exchange for one with a different
antenna.
(If possible, move them close to the transmitter)
Remove local sources of RF interference,
such as Lighting equipment.
Reposition the Receiver or Antennas.
Reposition receiver and perform a "walkthrough"
test and observe the signal strengths, If audio
dropouts persist, mark these "dead spots" in the
performing areas and avoid them during the
performance.

FEEDBACK
PRINTED IN CHINA
4-CHANNEL VHF PROFESSIONAL-Wireless Microphone System
WM340
Feedback happens when a microphone is placed close to a speaker. The amplified sound waves
coming from the speaker enter the microphone which sends that sound back for more amplification.
Amplification rises quickly and creates annoying howl or screach.
Feedback is caused by the following conditions:
• Placing microphone too close to the speaker(s).
• Having too many open and active microphones.
• High-frequency tone controls adjusted too high.
• Performing in environments with high ratios of hard and reflective room surfaces.
Prevent feedback by:
• Requesting the singer or speaker project their voice louder into the microphone allowing for a lower
master volume.
• Reduce the distance from microphone and lips. Each time this distance is halved, the sound system
output will increase approximately 6dB, mostly in the low-frequency range.
• Reduce the number of open microphones.
• Move the speaker(s) closer to the listeners.
• Use an equalizer/feedback reducer to cut the offending frequency bands.
Important: Every wireless microphone installation is a unique situation and can present a variety of
problems. Never attempt a live performance without first testing entire system in the performing area.
If changes are made, retest system again. Audiences are always more receptive if the show starts on
time without technical difficulties.
