De garantietermijn van vijf jaar geldt voor alle Eminent producten, tenzij anders
aangegeven op het moment van aankoop. Bij aankoop van een tweedehands Eminent
product resteert de garantieperiode gemeten vanaf het moment van de aankoop door
de eerste eigenaar.
De Eminent garantieregeling is van toepassing op alle Eminent producten en
onderdelen onlosmakelijk verbonden met het betreffende product. Voedingen,
batterijen, accu’s, antennes en alle andere producten niet geïntegreerd in of direct
verbonden met het hoofdproduct of producten waarvan redelijkerwijs mag worden
aangenomen dat deze een ander slijtagepatroon kennen dan het hoofdproduct vallen
derhalve niet onder de Eminent garantieregeling. De garantie vervalt tevens bij onjuist
of oneigenlijk gebruik, externe invloeden en/of bij opening van de behuizing van het
betreffende product door partijen anders dan Eminent.
2.0 Introductie

2.1 Functies en kenmerken
Geweldig toch, je eigen thuisnetwerk? Ideaal, maar vaak lastig te realiseren. Zo moet
je kabels leggen en gaten boren op plaatsen waar je dit niet wilt. Eminent biedt een
andere oplossing: je eigen thuisnetwerk over het enige reeds bestaande netwerk in je
huis. Een netwerk dat al jaren trouw dienst doet en je nog nooit in de steek heeft
gelaten. Het lichtnet! Om een enkele computer met het Internet te verbinden heb je de
Powerline Mini starterkit nodig. Nog een computer aansluiten? Gebruik dan de
Powerline Mini uitbreidingskit.
2.2 Inhoud van de verpakking
Je hebt gekozen voor de EM8024 Powerline Mini Uitbreidingskit. Controleer of alle
onderdelen in het pakket aanwezig zijn, alvorens met de installatieprocedure te
beginnen.

Je hebt gekozen voor de EM8025 Powerline Mini Starterkit. Controleer alstublieft of
alle onderdelen in het pakket aanwezig zijn, alvorens met de installatieprocedure te
beginnen.

2.3 Voordat je begint
Voordat je de installatieprocedure begint doe je er verstandig aan om te controleren
of:
1. Je beschikt over een werkende internetverbinding.
2. De netwerkinstellingen correct zijn geconfigureerd (zie de Eminent Advanced
Manual op cd-rom).

3.0 Het aansluiten van een Powerline Mini
adapter op een computer
Wanneer je een bestaande Internetverbinding wilt delen met meerdere gebruikers, of
simpelweg een netwerk wilt opzetten dan dien je de Powerline Mini aan te sluiten op
een computer. Dit doe je door de onderstaande procedure te volgen. Je kunt deze
procedure herhalen voor iedere computer die je aan je eigen Powerline Mini
thuisnetwerk toe wilt voegen.
1. Steek de Eminent Powerline Mini Adapter in het stopcontact dicht bij de
computer die je aan wilt sluiten.
2. Sluit de meegeleverde UTP netwerkkabel aan op de netwerkuitgang van de
Powerline Mini adapter.
3. Sluit het andere uiteinde van de UTP netwerkkabel aan op de netwerkkaart in de
computer.
4. De Powerline Mini is nu correct aangesloten en geïnstalleerd.
3.1 Het aansluiten van een Powerline Mini adapter op een
modem of router
Wanneer je een bestaande internetverbinding wilt delen met meerdere gebruikers of
je wilt de internetaansluiting verplaatsen naar een andere locatie, dan dien je een
Powerline Mini aan te sluiten op een modem of modem/router combinatie. Dit doe je
door de onderstaande procedure te volgen:
1. Steek de Eminent Powerline Mini Adapter in het stopcontact dicht bij de modem
of modem/router combinatie.
2. Sluit de meegeleverde UTP netwerkkabel aan op de netwerkuitgang van de
Powerline Mini adapter.
3. Sluit het andere uiteinde van de UTP netwerkkabel aan op een van de
netwerkaansluitingen van je modem of modem/router combinatie. Deze
aansluiting wordt ook wel ‘LAN’ genoemd.
4. De Powerline Mini is nu correct aangesloten en geïnstalleerd.
3.2 Powerline Mini beveiligingssoftware installeren
Standaard zullen alle aangesloten Powerline Mini adapters onderling met elkaar
verkeer uitwisselen. In sommige gevallen kan het daarom gewenst zijn om je
Powerline Mini thuis-netwerk te beveiligen. Hiervoor zul je de beveiligingssoftware
moeten installeren.
1. Schakel je computer in.
2. Plaats de cd-rom in de cd-rom speler.

3. De wizard wordt gestart.
4. Volg de stappen op het scherm totdat de installatie voltooid is.
3.3 Je Powerline Mini thuisnetwerk beveiligen
Op je bureaublad is nu een nieuwe snelkoppeling gekomen, ‘Powerpacket Utility’.
Hiermee kun je je Powerline Mini thuisnetwerk beveiligen.
Dubbelklik op de ‘Powerpacket Utility’ op je bureaublad om deze te openen.
Het scherm wat daarna opent is in twee stukken verdeelt. In het bovenste gedeelte
wordt de Powerline Mini adapter getoond die rechtstreeks op de computer is
aangesloten.
In het onderste gedeelte worden de adapters getoond die zich in hetzelfde Powerline
Mini thuisnetwerk bevinden. Standaard kun je hier de adapters terugvinden, die de
fabrieks- netwerknaam ‘HomePlug’ gebruiken.
Om adapters te beveiligen die niet rechtstreeks op de computer zijn aangesloten, heb
je de zogenaamde ‘DEK’ key, ook wel ‘Device ID’ key nodig. Deze staat op de sticker
gedrukt die op je Powerline Mini zit. Voor de Powerline Mini die rechtstreeks op je
computer is aangesloten, heb je deze sleutel niet nodig. Volg de onderstaande
stappen om de Powerline MiniS te kunnen beveiligen:
1. In het onderste veld van de ‘Powerpacket utility’ kies je een Powerline Mini in het
lijstje,
waarbij geen waarde is ingevuld in de ‘Password’ kolom.
2. Klik op de knop ‘Enter Password’.
3. Vul de ‘DEK key / Device ID’ in, en klik op ‘OK’. De ‘DEK Key / Device ID’ staat
op de sticker die op je Powerline Mini zit, en is bijvoorbeeld ‘XK8Y-GH36-BR1K-
LSZA’
4. Er zal worden gemeld dat het password correct is. Klik op ‘OK’ om te bevestigen.
5. (Als deze melding niet verschijnt, controleer dan de ingevulde ‘DEK Key of
Device ID’)
6. Herhaal de stap 1 t/m 5 voor alle Powerline Mini adapters, totdat ze allemaal in
de onderste lijst staan met een password in de ‘Password’ kolom.
7. Klik op het tabblad ‘Privacy’.
8. In het veld ‘Private Network Name’ vul je een zelf verzonnen, geheime
netwerknaam in.
9. Klik op de knop ‘Set All Devices’, rechts in het midden van het scherm.
10. De melding ‘Devices were all added to your network’ verschijnt.
11. Klik op ‘OK’.
12. Gefeliciteerd! Je Powerline Mini thuisnetwerk is nu beveiligd. Je hoeft deze
stappen niet te herhalen op andere computers.

Tip! De ‘Private Network Name’ zorgt voor de toegang tot je Powerline Mini
thuisnetwerk. Deel deze niet met onbekenden! Je kunt de ‘Private Network Name’
eventueel hieronder noteren, en deze handleiding op een veilige plek bewaren.

3.4 Een nieuwe Powerline Mini toevoegen aan een
beveiligd netwerk
Als je een beveiligd Powerline Mini thuisnetwerk hebt, en een nieuwe Powerline Mini
wilt toevoegen, dan zul je de zgn. ‘Private Network Name’ moeten instellen op de
nieuwe adapter. Dit kan op twee manieren.
Optie 1: De nieuwe Powerline Mini is aangesloten op een computer.
1. Installeer op de nieuwe pc de software, zoals beschreven in hoofdstuk 3.2
2. Dubbelklik op de ‘Powerpacket Utility’ op je bureaublad om deze te openen.
3. Klik op het tabblad ‘Privacy’.
4. In het veld ‘Private Network Name’ vul je de geheime netwerknaam in.
5. Klik op de knop ‘Set Local Device’, rechts in het midden van het scherm.
6. De ‘Powerpacket Utility’ zal nu melden dat de netwerknaam is ingesteld.
7. Klik op ‘OK’.
8. Je kunt nu controleren of er contact is met de rest van de adapters in het
Powerline Mini thuisnetwerk.
9. Klik op het tabblad ‘Main’.
10. Alle Powerline Mini adapters in het thuisnetwerk zullen nu zichtbaar en
verbonden zijn.
Optie 2: De nieuwe Powerline Mini is aangesloten op andere apparaat, bijv.
spelcomputer.
1. Gebruik de computer waarop de software al is geïnstalleerd, of installeer deze
zoals beschreven in hoofdstuk 3.2
2. Klik op de knop ‘Add’ rechtsonder in het scherm.
3. In het veld ‘Device Name’ hoef je niets in te vullen.
4. In het veld ‘Password’ vul je de ‘DEK key / Device ID’ in van de nieuwe Powerline
Mini.
5. Klik op ‘OK’. De nieuwe Powerline Mini wordt nu toegevoegd.
6. Klik op het tabblad ‘Privacy’.
7. Controleer de ‘Private Network Name’. Vul deze opnieuw in indien nodig.
8. Klik op de knop ‘Set All Devices’, rechts in het midden van het scherm.
9. De melding ‘Devices were all added to your network’ verschijnt.
10. Klik op het tabblad ‘Main’

11. Alle Powerline Mini adapters in het thuisnetwerk zullen nu zichtbaar en
verbonden zijn.
12. Je nieuwe Powerline Mini is nu toegevoegd aan je Powerline Mini netwerk, en
beveiligd.
4.0 Vraag & antwoord
V. Mijn netwerk is traag en niet stabiel, wat kan de oorzaak zijn?
A 1. Zorg er voor dat alle adapters direct zijn aangesloten op een wandcontactdoos.
Gebruik van verlengkabels of meerdere stekkerdozen kan de netwerkkwaliteit
ernstig beïnvloeden. Het gebruik van stekkerdozen met overspanningsbeveiliging
wordt afgeraden.
A 2. Het signaal is afhankelijk van de leeftijd van de stroombekabeling in je huis. Ook
het type stroommeter kan van invloed zijn, door bijvoorbeeld ingebouwde
filters.
A 3. Indien je huis of kantoor is voorzien van 3-fasen stroom dan is soms de ontvangst
tussen de 3 verschillende stroomfasen minder groot. In de meeste gevallen is de
communicatie tussen verschillende fasen geen probleem. Een 3-fasen netwerk is
te herkennen aan 3 hoofdschakelaars onderin de meterkast.
V. Mijn Powerline Mini adapters communiceren niet met elkaar?
A.1. Mogelijk hebben sommige Powerline Mini adapters een verschillend of onbekend
wachtwoord/netwerknaam waardoor de Powerline Mini adapters “onzichtbaar”
zijn geworden. Sluit alle Powerline Mini adapters één voor één rechtstreeks aan
op de netwerkkaart van je computer aan en zet via de PowerPacket software de
Private Network Name telkens terug op ‘HomePlug’.
A.2. Controleer je netwerkinstellingen (zie de Eminent Advanced Manual op cd-rom).
Mogelijk zijn deze niet correct geïnstalleerd. Je netwerk moet beschikken over
een goedwerkend TCP/IP protocol dat geconfigureerd is als ‘Automatisch een IP-
adres laten toewijzen’.
V. Is mijn Powerline Mini thuisnetwerk ook zichtbaar voor bijvoorbeeld mijn buren ?
A. Over het algemeen wordt het Powerline Mini signaal gefilterd door de
stroommeter in de
meterkast, en is het daardoor te zwak om zichtbaar te zijn bij je buren. Voor de
veiligheid raden wij wel aan om je Powerline Mini netwerk te beveiligen.
V. Kan ik het Powerline Mini signaal ook versterken ? Ik moet grote afstanden
overbruggen, of ik moet twee of meer verschillende fasen koppelen.
A. Ja, het Powerline Mini signaal kan worden versterkt. Dit kan door bijvoorbeeld op
twee
lokaties gebruik te maken van twee verschillende netwerknamen (bijvoorbeeld A
en B) en daarna met één netwerkabel een Powerline Mini uit netwerk A met

netwerk B
te verbinden.

The five-year Eminent warranty applies for all Eminent products unless mentioned
otherwise before or during the moment of purchase. When having bought a second-
hand Eminent product the remaining period of warranty is measured from the moment
of purchase by the product’s first owner. The Eminent warranty applies to all Eminent
products and parts inextricably connected to and/or mounted on the main product.
Power supply adapters, batteries, antennas and all other products not integrated in or
directly connected to the main product and/or products of which, without reasonable
doubt, can be assumed that wear and tear show a different pattern than the main
product are not covered by the Eminent warranty. Products are not covered by the
Eminent warranty when exposed to incorrect/improper use, external influences and/or
when opened by parties other than Eminent.

2.1 Functions and features
Isn’t it great, your own home network? Ideal, but often hard to realise. You need to
draw cables and drill holes in places you really do not want to. Eminent offers a
different solution: your own home network over the only existing network in your
house. A network that has offered its services for many years and has never let you
down. The mains! To connect just one computer to the Internet you should use the
Powerline Mini starter kit. Want to connect another computer? Simply use the
Powerline Mini extension kit!
2.2 Packing contents
Please verify if all parts mentioned below are present, before beginning the installation
procedure.
The Eminent EM8024 Powerline Mini Extension Kit should hold the following items:
•1x EM8024 Powerline Mini Adapter.
•1x UTP networking cable.
•User manual.
•CD-rom with installation software.
The Eminent EM8025 Powerline Mini Starter Kit should hold the following items:
•2x EM8024 Powerline Mini Adapters.
•2x UTP networking cable.
•User manual.
•CD-rom with installation software.
2.3 Before you start
Before you start the installation procedure you need to check:
1. Having a fully operational network connection.
2. Having configured the network settings properly (refer to the Eminent Advanced
Manual on CD-rom).
3.0 Connecting an Powerline Mini adapter to a
computer
When you wish to share an existing Internet connection with multiple users or when
you simply want to create a network, you first need to connect an Powerline Mini to
your computer. You can do this by following the procedure below. You can repeat this
procedure for each computer you wish to add to your network.

1. Insert the Eminent Powerline Mini Adapter in the wall-outlet nearest to the
computer you wish to connect
2. Connect the enclosed UTP networking cable to the network connector on the
Powerline Mini adapter.
3. Connect the other end of the UTP networking cable to the network card in your
computer.
4. The Powerline Mini has now been connected and installed.
3.1 Connecting an Powerline Mini Adapter to a modem or
router
When you wish to share an existing Internet connection with multiple users or when
you want to relocate your internet connection to another location, you need to connect
an Powerline Mini to a modem or modem/router combination. You can do this by
following the procedure below:
1. Insert the Eminent Powerline Mini Adapter in the wall-outlet nearest to the
modem or modem/router combination.
2. Connect the enclosed UTP networking cable to the network port on the Powerline
Mini adapter.
3. Connect the other end of the UTP networking cable to one of the network ports
on your modem or modem/router combination. These ports are often referred to
as ‘LAN’ ports.
4. The Powerline Mini has now been properly connected and installed.
3.2 Installing Powerline Mini security software
Normally all connected Powerline Mini adapters will mutually exchange data. In some
cases it may therefore be recommended to secure the Powerline Mini home network.
You will first need to install the security software.
1. Turn on the computer.
2. Insert the supplied CD-rom in the CD-rom player.
3. The wizard will automatically start.
4. Follow the instructions on your screen till the installation has been finished.
3.3 Securing your Powerline Mini home network
You will find a new shortcut on your desktop named ‘Powerpacket Utility’. You can use
this shortcut to secure your Powerline Mini home network.
Double click the ‘Powerpacket Utility’ on your desktop. The screen which then opens
is divided in two parts. The upper part shows the Powerline Mini adapter that is

directly connected to the computer. The bottom part shows the adapters that are
present in the Powerline Mini home network. Here you can find the adapters with the
default network name ‘HomePlug’.
To secure adapters that are not directly connected to the computer, you will need the
so-called ‘DEK’ key or ‘Device ID key’, found on the sticker on the Powerline Mini
adapter. You do not need this key to secure the adapter that is directly connected to
your computer. Follow the steps below to secure the Powerline Mini adapters:
1. In the bottom field of the ‘Powerpacket utility’ you can choose an Powerline Mini
from the list, where no value is set in the ‘Password’ column.
2. Click ‘Enter Password’.
3. Enter the ‘DEK key / Device ID’, and click ‘OK’. The ‘DEK Key / Device ID’ can be
found on the sticker of the Powerline Mini. An example of this key is ‘XK8Y-
GH36-BR1K-LSZA’.
4. A message will appear stating that the password is correct. Click ‘OK’ to confirm.
5. If this message does not appear, check the ‘DEK Key’ or ‘Device ID’ that you
entered.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for all Powerline Mini adapters, until all are shown in the
bottom list with a password in the ‘Password’ column.
7. Click the ‘Privacy’ tab.
8. Enter a made-up, secret network name in the ‘Private Network Name’ field.
9. Click ‘Set All Devices’, right of the center of the screen.
10. The message ‘Devices were all added to your network’ appears.
11. Click ‘OK’.
12. Congratulations! Your Powerline Mini home network is now secured. You do not
need to repeat any of these steps on your other computers.
Hint: The ‘Private Network Name’ enables you to access your Powerline Mini home
network. Do not share this name with strangers! If you wish, you can write the ‘Private
Network Name’ down, and keep the manual in a secure place.

3.4 Add a new Powerline Mini to your secured network
If you have a secured Powerline Mini home network, and you wish to connect a new
Powerline Mini adapter, you will need to set the so-called ‘Private Network Name’ on
this new adapter. This can be done in two ways.
Option 1: The new Powerline Mini is connected to a computer.
1. Install the software on the new computer as described in chapter 3.2.
2. Double click the ‘Powerpacket Utility’ on your desktop to open the software.

3. Click the ‘Privacy’ tab.
4. Enter the secret network name in the ‘Private Network Name’ field.
5. Click ‘Set Local Device’, right of the center of the screen.
6. The ‘Powerpacket Utility’ will indicate that the network name has been set.
7. Click ‘OK’.
8. You can now check to see if there is a connection with the other adapters in the
Powerline Mini home network.
9. Click the ‘Main’ tab.
10. All Powerline Mini adapters in your home network will now be visible and
connected.
Option 2: The new Powerline Mini is connected to another device, such as a game
console.
1. Use the computer on which the software has already been installed, or install the
software as shown in chapter 3.2
2. Click ‘Add’ on the bottom right of the screen.
3. You do not need to enter anything in the ‘Device Name’ field.
4. Enter the ‘DEK key / Device ID’ of the new Powerline Mini in the ‘Password’ field.
5. Click ‘OK’. The new Powerline Mini will now be added.
6. Click the ‘Privacy’ tab.
7. Check the ‘Private Network Name’. Enter the name again if needed.
8. Click ‘Set All Devices’, right of the center of the screen.
9. The message ‘Devices were all added to your network’ appears.
10. Click the ‘Main’ tab.
11. All Powerline Mini adapters in the home network will now be visible and
connected.
12. Your new Powerline Mini has now been added to your Powerline Mini network,
and secured.
4.0 Frequently asked questions
Q. My network is slow and unstable, what could be the cause?
A 1. Make sure all adapters are directly connected to a wall-outlet. Use of extension
cords or multiple connector boxes can severely influence the quality of the
network. We especially discourage the use of connector boxes that are equipped
with over-voltage protection.
A 2. The signal depends on the age of the power grid in your house. The type of
current meter can also be of influence, for instance because of built-in filters.
A 3. If your house or office has three power phases the reception between the three
different phases may be rather weak. In most situations the communication
between the phases will be no problem. A three phase network can be
recognized by the three main switches in the meter cupboard.

Q. My Powerline Mini adapters do not communicate with each other?
A 1. Your Powerline Mini adapters might have different or unknown
networknames/passwords. Connect each Powerline Mini adapter directly to your
to your network card and reset the Network Name for each adapter to “Home
Plug” by using the PowerPacket utility.
A 2. Check your network settings (refer to the Eminent Advanced Manual on CD-rom).
Chances are these are not correctly configured. Your network needs a correctly
functioning TCP/IP protocol that is configured as ‘Automatically obtain an IP
address’.
Q. Is my Powerline Mini home network visible for my neighbors?
A. Normally de Powerline Mini signal is being filtered by the current meter in the
meter cupboard and therefore too weak to be visible by your neighbors. We do
however recommend you to secure your Powerline Mini network.
Q. Can I amplify the Powerline Mini signal? I need to bridge large distances or I
need to couple different phases.
A. Yes, the Powerline Mini signal can be amplified. This can be done by using two
different
network names (for instance A and B) on two different locations after which you
connect an Powerline Mini adapter from location A to an Powerline Mini adapter
from location B, using a network cable.

Une période de garantie de cinq ans est accordée pour tous les produits Eminent,

Le règlement de garantie Eminent est d'application sur tous les produits et les
éléments Eminent qui sont indissociablement liés au produit concerné. Les
alimentations, les piles, les batteries, les antennes et tous les autres produits qui ne
sont pas intégrés ni directement liés au produit principal ou les produits dont il peut
être raisonnablement accepté qu'ils connaissent une usure différente de celle du
produit principal ne tombent pas sous le règlement de garantie Eminent. La garantie

2.1 Fonctions et caractéristiques
Formidable, votre propre réseau à domicile! Idéal, mais souvent difficile à réaliser. Il
faut tirer des câbles et forer des trous à des endroits où vous ne préféreriez pas en
avoir. Eminent vous propose une autre solution: votre propre réseau à domicile par
l'unique réseau qui existe déjà dans votre maison. Un réseau qui vous offre déjà
depuis de longues années de fidèles services et qui ne vous abandonne jamais. Le
réseau électrique! Pour relier un seul ordinateur à Internet, vous avez besoin d'un kit
de base Powerline Mini. Vous désirez connecter encore un ordinateur? Utilisez alors
le kit d'extension Powerline Mini.
2.2 Contenu du conditionnement
Vous avez acquis le kit d'extension EM8024 Powerline Mini. Contrôlez si tous les
éléments sont présents dans votre boîte avant d'entamer la procédure d'installation.

2.3 Avant de commencer
Avant d'entamer la procédure d'installation, il est recommandé de contrôler si:
1. Vous disposez d'une connexion internet qui fonctionne correctement.
2. Les paramètres de réseau sont configurés correctement (comparez avec le
Eminent Advanced Manual sur le CD-rom).

3.0 La connexion d'un adaptateur Powerline
Mini à un ordinateur
Si vous désirez partager une connexion internet existante avec plusieurs utilisateurs
ou si vous désirez simplement installer un réseau, vous devez connecter le Powerline
Mini à un ordinateur. Faites-le en suivant la procédure ci-dessous. Vous pouvez
répéter cette procédure pour chaque ordinateur que vous désirez ajouter à votre
réseau à domicile Powerline Mini.
1. Mettez l'adaptateur Powerline Mini d'Eminent dans la prise de courant la plus
proche de l'ordinateur que vous désirez connecter.
2. Connectez le câble réseau UTP fourni à la sortie réseau de l'adaptateur
Powerline Mini.
3. Connectez l'autre côté du câble réseau UTP à la carte réseau dans l'ordinateur.
4. Le Powerline Mini est à présent correctement connecté et installé.
3.1 La connexion d'un adaptateur Powerline Mini à un
modem ou routeur
Si vous désirez partager une connexion internet existante avec plusieurs utilisateurs
ou si vous désirez déplacer la connexion internet vers un autre endroit, vous devez
connecter un Powerline Mini à un modem ou à une combinaison modem/routeur.
Faites-le en suivant la procédure ci-dessous.
1. Mettez l'adaptateur Powerline Mini d'Eminent dans la prise de courant proche du
modem ou de la combinaison modem/routeur.
2. Connectez le câble réseau UTP fourni à la sortie réseau de l'adaptateur
Powerline Mini.
3. Connectez l'autre côté du câble réseau UTP à une des connexions réseau de
votre modem ou de la combinaison modem/routeur. Cette connexion est
également appelée "LAN".
4. Le Powerline Mini est à présent correctement connecté et installé.
3.2 Installer le logiciel de protection Powerline Mini.
De façon standard, tous les adaptateurs Powerline Mini connectés échangeront des
données entre eux. Dans certains cas, il est donc souhaité de protéger votre réseau à
domicile Powerline Mini. A cet effet, vous devez installer le logiciel de protection.
1. Branchez votre ordinateur.
2. Placez le cd-rom dans le lecteur cédérom.
3. Le wizard va démarrer.
4. Suivez les instructions sur l’écran jusqu’à ce que l’installation soit terminée.

3.3 Protéger votre réseau à domicile Powerline Mini
Sur votre écran de bureau, un nouveau lien rapide est apparu, "Powerpacket Utility".
Il vous permet de protéger votre réseau à domicile Powerline Mini.
Faites un double-clic sur "Powerpacket Utility" sur votre bureau pour l'ouvrir.
L'écran qui s'ouvre est partagé en deux parties. Dans la partie supérieure, l'adaptateur
Powerline Mini qui est connecté directement à votre ordinateur apparaît.
Dans la partie inférieure, vous voyez les adaptateurs qui se trouvent sur le même
réseau à domicile Powerline Mini. De façon standard, vous y trouvez les adaptateurs
qui utilisent le nom de réseau d'usine "HomePlug".
Pour protéger les adaptateurs qui ne sont pas directement connectés à votre
ordinateur, vous avez besoin d'une "DEK" key, appelée également "Device ID". Elle
est mentionnée sur l'autocollant qui se trouve sur votre Powerline Mini. Pour le
Powerline Mini qui est connecté directement à votre ordinateur, vous n'avez pas
besoin de cette clef. Suivez les étapes ci-dessous pour protéger les Powerline MiniS;
1. Dans le champ inférieur de "Powerpacket utility", vous choisissez un Powerline
Mini sur la petite liste,
pour lequel aucune valeur n'est indiquée dans la colonne "Password".
2. Cliquez sur le bouton "Enter Password".
3. Remplissez le "DEK key / Device ID" et cliquez sur "OK". Le "DEK Key / Device
ID" est mentionné sur l'autocollant qui se trouve sur votre Powerline Mini, par
exemple "XK8Y-GH36-BR1K-LSZA"
4. Il sera mentionné si le mot de passe est correct. Cliquez sur "OK" pour le
confirmer.
5. (Si cette mention n'apparaît pas, vérifiez le "DEK Key" ou "Device ID" que vous
avez tapé.)
6. Répétez les étapes de 1 à 5 pour tous les adaptateurs Powerline Mini jusqu'à ce
qu'ils se trouvent tous dans la liste inférieure avec un mot de passe dans la
colonne "Password".
7. Cliquez sur l'intercalaire "Privacy".
8. Dans le champ "Private Network Name", vous remplissez un nom de réseau
secret que vous inventez.
9. Cliquez sur le bouton "Set All Devices", à droite au centre de l'écran.
10. La mention "Devices were all added to your network" apparaît.
11. Cliquez sur "OK".
12. Félicitation! Votre réseau à domicile Powerline Mini est à présent protégé. Vous
ne devez pas répéter ces étapes pour les autres ordinateurs.

Conseil: Le "Private Network Name" veille à l'accès de votre réseau à domicile
Powerline Mini. Ne le communiquez pas à des inconnus! Vous pouvez éventuellement
noter le "Private Network Name" ci-dessous et conserver ce manuel dans un lieu sûr.

3.4 Ajoutez un nouveau Powerline Mini à un réseau
protégé
Si vous possédez un réseau à domicile Powerline Mini protégé et que vous désirez
ajouter un nouveau Powerline Mini, vous devez installer le "Private Network Name"
sur le nouvel adaptateur. Cela peut se faire de deux façons.
Option 1: Le nouveau Powerline Mini est connecté à un ordinateur.
1. Installez le logiciel sur le nouvel ordinateur, comme décrit au chapitre 3.2.
2. Faites un double-clic sur "Powerpacket Utility" sur votre bureau pour l'ouvrir.
3. Cliquez sur l'intercalaire "Privacy".
4. Dans le champ "Private Network Name", vous remplissez votre nom de réseau
secret.
5. Cliquez sur le bouton "Set Local Device", à droite au centre de l'écran.
6. Le "Powerpacket Utility" mentionnera que le nom de réseau est installé.
7. Cliquez sur "OK".
8. Vous pouvez maintenant contrôler s'il y a un contact avec le reste des
adaptateurs dans le réseau à domicile Powerline Mini.
9. Cliquez sur l'intercalaire "Main".
10. Tous les adaptateurs Powerline Mini de votre réseau à domicile sont à présent
visibles et reliés.
Option 2: Le nouveau Powerline Mini est connecté à un autre appareil, par ex. une
console de jeu.
1. Utilisez l'ordinateur sur lequel le logiciel est déjà installé ou installez-le comme
indiqué au chapitre 3.2.
2. Cliquez sur le bouton "Add" à droite en bas de l'écran.
3. Dans le champ "Device Name", vous ne devez rien remplir.
4. Dans le champ "Password", vous remplissez le "DEK key / Device ID" du
nouveau Powerline Mini.
5. Cliquez sur "OK". Le nouveau Powerline Mini est à présent ajouté.
6. Cliquez sur l'intercalaire "Privacy".
7. Contrôlez le "Private Network Name". Remplissez-le à nouveau si nécessaire.
8. Cliquez sur le bouton "Set All Devices", à droite au centre de l'écran.
9. La mention "Devices were all added to your network" apparaît.
10. Cliquez sur l'intercalaire "Main"

11. Tous les adaptateurs Powerline Mini de votre réseau à domicile sont maintenant
visibles et reliés.
12. Votre nouveau Powerline Mini est à présent ajouté à votre réseau Powerline Mini
et protégé.
4.0 Questions fréquentes
Q. Mon réseau est lent et instable. Quelle peut en être la cause?
R 1. Veillez à ce que tous les adaptateurs soient directement connectés à une boîte
de contact murale. L'utilisation de câbles de rallonge ou de prises multiples peut
sérieusement influencer la qualité du réseau. Les prises multiples avec une
protection de survoltage sont déconseillées.
R 2. Le signal dépend de l'âge du câblage électrique de votre maison. Le type de
compteur de courant peut également influencer, par exemple par des filtres
intégrés.
R 3. Si votre maison ou bureau est pourvu de courant à 3 phases, la réception entre
les 3 phases de courant peut être inférieure. Dans la plupart des cas, la
communication entre les différentes phases ne pose pas de problème. Un réseau
à 3 phases se reconnaît aux 3 disjoncteurs principaux dans le bas du boîtier du
compteur.
Q. Mes adaptateurs Powerline Mini ne communiquent pas entre eux?
R. Contrôlez vos paramètres de réseau (comparez avec le Eminent Advanced
Manual sur le CD-rom). Ils ne sont peut-être pas installés correctement. Votre
réseau doit disposer d'un protocole TCP/IP fonctionnant correctement qui est
configuré pour "Faire attribuer automatiquement une adresse IP".
Q. Est-ce que mon réseau à domicile Powerline Mini est également visible pour mon
voisin par exemple ?
R. Généralement, le signal Powerline Mini est filtré par le compteur de courant dans
le boîtier du compteur et est alors trop faible pour être vu par vos voisins. Pour
toute sécurité, nous vous conseillons cependant de protéger votre réseau
Powerline Mini.
Q. Puis-je également amplifier le signal Powerline Mini ? Je dois enjamber de
grandes distance. Ou dois-je connecter deux ou plus de phases différentes?
R. Oui, il est possible d'amplifier le signal Powerline Mini. Cela peut se faire en
utilisant par exemple aux deux endroits des noms de réseaux différents (par ex.
A et B) et ensuite de relier avec un seul câble réseau un Powerline Mini du
réseau A avec le réseau B.
