1.1 Functies en kenmerken
De EM3705 USB Video Editor is een USB adapter waarmee je televisieprogramma’s
of de inhoud van bijvoorbeeld videobanden kan omzetten naar verschillende soorten
mediabestanden. Zo kun je televisieprogramma’s, oude films of homevideo´s op DVD
branden, op YouTube zetten of afspelen op je iPad. De bijgeleverde software helpt je
om de beste resultaten te bereiken.

2.0 Installatieprocedure
Via onderstaande stappen kun je de stuurprogramma’s en bijbehorende software van
de EM3705 op je computer installeren. Ook wordt uitgelegd hoe de EM3705 aan te
sluiten op je videoapparatuur.
2.1 Software installeren
1. Plaats de meegeleverde installatie CD-ROM in de CD-ROM speler of DVD-speler
van je computer.
2. De installatieprocedure zal automatisch starten.
3. Volg de stappen op het scherm om de software te installeren. Tijdens de
installatie wordt gevraagd om een naam en een serienummer in te vullen. Het
serienummer kun je vinden op het hoesje van de CD-ROM.
4. Start na de installatie van de software je computer opnieuw op.
Let op! De licentiesleutel, die je nodig hebt tijdens de software-installatie, vind je op
het hoesje van de installatie CD-ROM.
2.2 Hardware aansluiten
Sluit de EM3705 aan op een USB poort van je computer. Gebruik eventueel de USB
verlengkabel voor meer bewegingsvrijheid. Sluit de speciale plug (waar vier kabels
uitkomen) van de audio/video input kabel aan op de EM3705.
Afhankelijk van welk apparaat je op de EM3705 wilt aansluiten (bijvoorbeeld een
camera of videorecorder), gebruik je de vier overige pluggen van de audio/video input
kabel. Zie ook de afbeelding hieronder:

Let op! De afgebeelde verloopstekkers zijn meegeleverd met het aan te sluiten
apparaat. Je vindt deze dus niet in de verpakking van de EM3705.
3.0 ShowBiz DVD software gebruiken
De ShowBiz DVD software stelt je in staat om videomateriaal van bijvoorbeeld je
videorecorder of je camera om te zetten naar verschillende soorten mediabestanden.
In dit hoofdstuk zal uitgelegd worden hoe je de videobeelden op je computer krijgt en
welke functies de software verder nog herbergt.
Let op! Om uitgebreide hulp te krijgen bij de verschillende instellingsmogelijkheden
druk je op de F1 toets. Er verschijnt dan een nieuw scherm waarin alle mogelijkheden
van de software besproken worden. Hier vind je ook meer informatie over de vele
andere functies van de software.
We gaan er in dit hoofdstuk van uit dat je een videorecorder via de EM3705 op je
computer aangesloten hebt.
3.1 Beelden opnemen
1. Klik op ‘Start’.
2. Klik op ‘Programma’s of ‘Alle Programma’s’.
3. Klik op ‘ArcSoft ShowBiz’ en open de software.
4. Het hoofdscherm van de software wordt geopend.
5. Klik op de knop ‘Vastleggen’.
6. Klik op ‘Apparaatinstellingen’.

7. Zorg ervoor dat bij ‘Videostandaard’ de juiste regio is geselecteerd. In dit geval
dien je ervoor te zorgen dat ‘PAL’ (B of G) is geselecteerd.
8. Zet een vinkje bij ‘Invoer vanaf een videorecorder’ en klik op ‘OK’.
9. Selecteer nu bij ‘Opslaan naar’ de locatie of schijf waar je de videobestanden wilt
opslaan. Via het ‘Map’ icoontje kun je bladeren naar een gewenste locatie.
Zorg ervoor dat de geselecteerde locatie voldoende schijfruimte heeft. Het vastleggen
van videomateriaal vereist veel schijfruimte.
10. Druk nu op de ‘Play’ toets van de videorecorder. Aan de rechterkant van het
scherm wordt een miniatuurweergave getoond van het videomateriaal dat de
videorecorder op dit moment afspeelt.
11. Zoek het begin van het op te nemen gedeelte op.
Let op! Als je bepaalde apparaten aansluit op de EM3705 (bijvoorbeeld een DV
camera) krijg je een aantal knoppen in beeld (play, fast forward, rewind etc..)
waarmee je kan zoeken. Krijg je deze knoppen niet te zien, gebruik dan gewoon de
knoppen op het apparaat of een afstandsbediening.
12. Selecteer bij ‘Vastlegduur’ de duur van de opname.
13. Klik op de knop ‘Vastleggen’. De opname begint nu te lopen.
14. De opname stopt wanneer de ingestelde opnametijd is verstreken. Om de
opname handmatig te stoppen, klik je op ‘Stop’.
Tip: Om een DVD te maken kun je de knop ‘Bewerken’ gebruiken om een
videobestand toe te voegen. Gebruik daarna de knop ‘DVD maken’. De software zal je
door het verdere proces leiden.
Let op: Eminent is niet de fabrikant van de software en zal niet inhoudelijk op de
werking van de software in kunnen gaan. Ervaar je problemen of heb je vragen over
de Arcsoft software, gebruik dan de Help-functie van de software door op de ‘F1’ toets
te drukken. Je kunt je ook wenden tot de Arcsoft website: www.arcsoft.com
4.0 MediaConverter 4.0 software gebruiken
Nadat je een opname hebt gemaakt, kun je opgenomen video’s ook omzetten naar
verschillende andere mediaformaten. Zo kun je de opname geschikt maken voor
bijvoorbeeld je iPad, Sony PSP of voor je YouTube account. We gaan in dit hoofdstuk
als voorbeeld uitleggen hoe je het opgenomen bestand naar je YouTube account kunt
uploaden en hoe je het bestand geschikt kunt maken voor je iPad.
4.1 Een filmpje op YouTube plaatsen
We gaan er in dit voorbeeld vanuit dat je met behulp van ShowBiz software een
opname van maximaal 10 minuten hebt gemaakt en dat deze op de harde schijf van je

computer is opgeslagen. We gaan nu uitleggen hoe je dit bestand kunt uploaden naar
je YouTube account.
1. Klik op ‘Start’.
2. Klik op ‘Programma’s’ of ‘Alle Programma’s’.
3. Ga naar ‘ArcSoft MediaConverter 4 Platinum’ en open de software. Na enkele
ogenblikken verschijnt er een nieuw scherm.
4. Er wordt gevraagd om de login gegevens van je YouTube account. Vul deze in.
5. Klik bovenin het scherm op ‘Bestand Toevoegen’.
6. Blader naar het bestand dat je wilt gebruiken. Selecteer het bestand en klik op
‘Openen’.
7. De MediaConverter software zal nu het geselecteerde bestand converteren naar
een geschikt formaat.
8. Na het converteren verschijnt er een scherm waarin je een aantal gegevens dient
in te vullen. Vul de juiste gegevens in en klik op ‘OK’.
9. De software zal daarna de geconverteerde video’s automatisch uploaden naar je
YouTube account.
Let op! Het kan enige tijd (mogelijk uren) duren voordat je filmpje ook daadwerkelijk te
vinden is op YouTube. Dit heeft te maken met de verwerkingstijd van YouTube zelf.
4.2 Een bestand op je iPad plaatsen
Je kunt via de MediaConverter software filmpjes en mp3 bestanden ook geschikt
maken voor verschillende soorten draagbare mediaspelers. In dit voorbeeld zullen we
een bestand overzetten naar een iPad. De Mediaconverter software zal (indien nodig)
het bestand eerst converteren naar een formaat dat geschikt is voor je iPad, waarna
het bestand op de iPad geplaatst wordt. Dit gaat als volgt:
1. Sluit je iPad aan op een van de USB poorten van je computer.
2. Klik op ‘Start’.
3. Klik op ‘Programma’s’ of ‘Alle Programma’s’.
4. Ga naar ‘ArcSoft MediaConverter Platinum 4’ en open de software. Na enkele
ogenblikken verschijnt er een nieuw scherm.
5. Links bovenin het scherm zie je dat de MediaConverter software de iPad al in de
lijst heeft staan.
6. Ga met de muis boven het iPad icoontje staan en klik op het plusje wat in de
iPad afbeelding staat.
7. Selecteer het bestand dat je wilt gebruiken en klik op ‘Openen’.
8. De MediaConverter software zal nu het geselecteerde bestand omzetten naar
een geschikt formaat en het daarna uploaden naar je iPad.
9. Verwijder de iPad weer veilig van je computer. Als je nu de inhoud van je iPad
bekijkt, zie je dat het bestand is toegevoegd aan een van de mappen van je iPad.
Tip: Om een ander niet getoond apparaat te kiezen klik je links bovenin het scherm op
‘Apparaat toevoegen’ en selecteer je het gewenste apparaat.

7.0 Waarschuwingen en aandachtspunten
Vanwege wet- en regelgeving bepaald door het Europese parlement, kan sommige
(draadloze) apparatuur onderhevig zijn aan beperkingen omtrent het gebruik in
bepaalde Europese lidstaten. In sommige Europese lidstaten kan het gebruik van
deze apparatuur verboden zijn. Neem contact op met je (lokale) overheid voor meer
informatie over deze beperkingen.
Volg ten allen tijde de instructies in de handleiding*, speciaal wanneer het apparatuur
betreft wat geassembleerd dient te worden.
Waarschuwing: In de meeste gevallen gaat het om een elektronisch apparaat.
Verkeerd of oneigenlijk gebruik van het apparaat kan leiden tot (zware) verwondingen.

8.0 Garantievoorwaarden

aangegeven op het moment van aankoop. Bij aankoop van een tweedehands Eminent
product resteert de garantieperiode gemeten vanaf het moment van de aankoop door
de eerste eigenaar. De Eminent garantieregeling is van toepassing op alle Eminent
producten en onderdelen onlosmakelijk verbonden met het betreffende product.
Voedingen, batterijen, accu’s, antennes en alle andere producten niet geïntegreerd in
of direct verbonden met het hoofdproduct of producten waarvan redelijkerwijs mag
worden aangenomen dat deze een ander slijtagepatroon kennen dan het
hoofdproduct vallen derhalve niet onder de Eminent garantieregeling. De garantie
vervalt tevens bij onjuist of oneigenlijk gebruik, externe invloeden en/of bij opening van
de behuizing van het betreffende product door partijen anders dan Eminent.

1.1 Functions and features
The EM3705 USB Video Grabber is a USB adapter which enables you to convert
television broadcasts or the contents of video tapes to several media formats. This
allows you to burn television programs, old movies or home videos to DVD, put them
on YouTube or on your iPad. The supplied software helps you to obtain the best
results.

2.0 Installation procedure
By following the instructions below you can install the drivers and the additional
software of the EM3705 on your computer. We will also explain how to connect the
EM3705 to your video devices.
2.1 Installing the software
1. Place the supplied installation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive or DVD drive of
your computer.
2. The installation procedure will start automatically.
3. Follow the steps shown on screen. During the installation, you need to fill in a
name and licensing number. The licensing number can be found on the sleeve of
the CD-ROM.
4. Restart your computer after the installation.
Note! The license number which will be asked during the installation procedure can be
found on the sleeve of the installation CD-ROM.
2.2 Connecting the hardware
Connect the EM3705 to a USB port on your computer. If you wish you can use the
USB extension cable for more freedom of movement.
Connect the special plug (from which four cables extend) from the audio/video input
cable to the EM3705.
Depending on what device you now wish to connect to the EM3705 (for instance a
camera or video recorder) you can use one of the other four plugs of the audio/video
input cable. See the image below:

Note! The coupling plugs shown in the image are supplied with the device you wish to
connect. You will therefore not find them in the packaging of the EM3705.
3.0 Using the ShowBiz DVD software
The ShowBiz DVD software enables you to convert video images from, for instance,
your camera or video recorder to several types of media files. In this chapter we will
explain how to transfer the video images to your computer. We will also explain the
additional functions of the software.
Note! If you need more help with the different settings you can press the F1 key. A
new screen will appear, covering all the possible settings of the software. You will also
find more information on the other functions of the software.
During this chapter we will assume you have a video recorder connected to your
computer using the EM3705.
3.1 Recording images
1. Click ‘Start’.
2. Click ‘Programs’ or ‘All Programs’.
3. Click ‘ArcSoft ShowBiz’ and open the software.
4. The main menu of the software will appear.
5. Click the ‘Capture’ option at the top of the menu.
6. Click ‘Device Settings’ and tab ‘Videodecoder’.

7. Make sure the correct region is chosen at ‘Video Standard’. For Europe, you
need to select ‘PAL’ (B or G).
8. Place a mark at ‘VCR Input’ and click ‘OK’.
9. At ‘Save to’ you can select the location or hard disk you want to save the video
files to. Using the ‘Folder’ icon, you can browse to the desired location.
Make sure the selected location or disk has sufficient free disk space. Recording video
material requires a lot of free disk space.
10. Press the ‘Play’ button on the VCR. At the right side you will see a small screen
which shows a preview of the played video.
11. Search for the starting point of the video you want to record.
Note! If you connect certain devices to the EM3705 (for instance a DV camera) a
number of buttons will appear (e.g. play, fast forward, rewind.) which allow to search.
If these buttons do not appear, you can use the buttons on the device or its remote
control.
12. Set the duration of the recording at ‘Capture Duration’.
13. Click the ‘Capture’ button. The recording will start.
14. The recording will stop after the set duration. To manually stop the recording, you
need to press ‘Stop’.
Hint: In order to create a DVD after making a recording, you need to use the ‘Edit’
option at the top of the menu. Then you need to use the ‘Produce’ option at the top of
the menu. The software will then show the correct steps.
Note: Eminent is not the manufacturer of the supplied software. Therefore, Eminent
can not support the specific settings and functions of the software. If you are
experiencing problems using the software, or you have questions regarding the
Arcsoft software, you can use the ‘Help’ function of the software by pressing the ‘F1’
button on your keyboard. You can also refer to the Arcsoft website for support:

4.0 Using the MediaConverter 4 software
After recording images, you can convert the resulting file to several types of media
formats. This allows you to transfer recordings to your Apple iPad, Sony PSP or to
your YouTube account. In this chapter we will explain how to upload a recording to
your YouTube account and how to convert and transfer a file to your iPad.
4.1 Uploading a movie to YouTube
In this example we will assume you have used ShowBiz to make a recording with a
maximum length of 10 minutes and that you saved this recording to your hard disk.
We will now explain how to upload this recording to your YouTube account.

1. Click ‘Start’.
2. Click ‘Programs’ or All Programs’.
3. Go to ‘ArcSoft MediaConverter Platinum 4’ and open the software. A new screen
will appear.
4. Click on the ´Youtube´ icon.
5. Your YouTube account settings will be asked. Fill in these settings.
6. Click ‘Add File’ at the top of the menu.
7. Browse to the file you want to upload. Select the file and click ‘Open’.
8. The MediaConverter software starts to convert to a supported format.
9. After converting, a screen will appear. You need to fill out some items on this
screen and click ‘OK’.
10. After converting, the MediaConverter software will automatically upload the video
file to your YouTube account.
Note! It may take some time (possibly hours) before your movie can actually be found
on YouTube. This is caused by the processing time of YouTube.
4.2 Placing a file on your iPad
You can also use the MediaConverter software to transfer files to all kinds of portable
media players. In this example, we will transfer a file to an iPad. The MediaConverter
software will (if necessary) convert the file to a format which is suitable for your iPad,
after which the file will be placed on the iPad. Follow the instructions below:
1. Connect your iPad to a USB port on your computer.
2. Click ‘Start’.
3. Click ‘Programs’ or ‘All Programs’.
4. Go to ‘ArcSoft MediaConverter Platinum 4’ and open the software. A new screen
will appear.
5. In the left part of the screen you will see the software already shows the iPad.
6. Place the mouse cursor above the iPad icon and click the ‘plus’ sign.
7. Select the file you wish to upload and click ‘Open’.
8. The MediaConverter software will now convert the selected file to a supported file
format for your iPad.
9. You can now upload your movie to your iPad, using iTunes.
Hint: Use the ‘Add Device’ icon in the top of the menu to add a device which is not
shown in the list by default’.

8.0 Warranty conditions
The five-year Eminent warranty applies to all Eminent products unless mentioned
otherwise before or during the moment of purchase. When having bought a second-
hand Eminent product the remaining period of warranty is measured from the moment
of purchase by the product’s first owner. The Eminent warranty applies to all Eminent
products and parts inextricably connected to and/or mounted on the main product.
Power supply adapters, batteries, antennas and all other products not integrated in or
directly connected to the main product and/or products of which, without reasonable
doubt, can be assumed that wear and tear show a different pattern than the main
product are not covered by the Eminent warranty. Products are not covered by the
Eminent warranty when subjected to incorrect/improper use, external influences
and/or when opened by parties other than Eminent.

To ensure your safety and compliance of the product with the directives and laws
created by the European Commission you can obtain a copy of the Declaration of

1.1 Fonctions et caractéristiques
Le EM3705 USB Video Editor est un adaptateur USB adapter qui vous permet de
convertir des programmes de télévision ou le contenu de bandes-vidéo vers différents
types de fichiers médias. Vous pouvez par exemple graver des programmes de
télévision, d'anciens films ou des vidéos sur DVD, les mettre sur YouTube ou les faire
jouer sur votre Apple iPad. Le logiciel fourni vous aide à obtenir les meilleurs résultats.

2.0 Chapter
En suivant les étapes ci-dessous, vous pouvez installer les pilotes et les logiciels
correspondants du EM3705 sur votre ordinateur.
Il est également expliqué comment connecter le EM3705 à votre appareil vidéo.
2.1 Installation du logiciel
1. Insérez le CD-ROM fourni dans le lecteur de CD-ROM ou de DVD de votre
ordinateur.
2. La procédure d'installation commence immédiatement.
3. Suivez les instructions qui s'affichent à l'écran. Lors de l'installation, vous devrez
entrer un nom et le numéro de la licence. Le numéro de la licence peut être
trouvé sur la boîte du CD-ROM.
4. Redémarrer à présent votre ordinateur.
Attention! La clef de licence qui est nécessaire pour l'installation du logiciel est
mentionnée sur la pochette du CD d'installation.
2.2 Connecter le matériel
Connectez l'EM3705 à une porte USB de votre ordinateur. Utilisez éventuellement le
câble de rallonge USB pour plus de liberté de mouvement. Connectez le plug spécial
(dont sortent quatre câbles) du câble audio/vidéo input à l'EM3705.
Selon l'appareil que vous désirez connecter à l'EM3705 (par exemple une caméra ou
un enregistreur vidéo), utilisez les quatre autres plugs du câble audio/vidéo input. Voir
également le schéma ci-dessous:

Attention! les connecteurs à rallonge dessinés sont livrées avec l'appareil à connecter.
Vous ne les trouverez donc pas dans la boîte du EM3705.
3.0 Utilisation du logiciel ShowBiz DVD
Le logiciel ShowBiz DVD vous permet de convertir du matériel vidéo de votre
enregistreur vidéo ou de votre caméra vers plusieurs types de fichiers médias. Dans
ce chapitre, nous vous expliquons comment mettre les images vidéo dans votre
ordinateur et quelles sont les autres fonctions du logiciel.
Attention! Pour obtenir de l'aide détaillé concernant les différentes possibilités de mise
au point, vous appuyez sur la touche F1. Un nouvel écran apparaît alors dans lequel
toutes les possibilités du logiciel sont expliquées. Vous y trouverez également plus
d'information concernant de nombreuses autres fonctions du logiciel.
Dans ce chapitre, nous partons du principe que vous avez connecté un enregistreur
vidéo à votre ordinateur via le EM3705.
3.1 Enregistrer des images
1. Cliquez sur "Start".
2. Cliquez sur "Tous les programmes".
3. Cliquez sur "ArcSoft ShowBiz DVD".
4. Le menu principal du logiciel apparaîtra.
