Power-on the ENXDVR-4C
This sectionassumes that the Hard Disc Drive or HDD is already installed. Connect
the power adaptor to power-up the DVR only AFTER all the peripheral devices such
as the cameras, mouse, monitor, LAN cable and hard drive have been installed
properly and connectedto respective ports.
Plug-in the power-plug to the power port and then plug the power cordto the
electrical outlet. The ENXDVR-4C has no power switch, therefore as soon as you
plugged-in the adapter to the electrical outlet, the DVR will startits operation. It may
take a few secondsfor the DVR to fully startup. Whenthe installed hard drive is
detected and the hard disc format isnot recognized, the system will prompt for
whether you would like to format the hard drive or skip. Skipping will prevent the
system to use the hard disc drive, therefore there will be no video recording will
happen in the operations.
Format the hard drive onlywhen:
»The hard drive is brand new or the hard drive is pulled out from a computeror
another DVR unit. If the hard drive has been used on another device or from a
PCor another DVR all the data in it will be erased when continue formatting. It
is always a good practice to back up the data before continuing with the format.
Do not format the hard drive when:
»If the hard drive is pulled out from a PC or other devices and you want to keep
the data in the samehard drive. Keep in mind that when the hard drive is
formatted the data will be totally and irreversibly wiped out or erased.
NOTE If the DVR system detects the hard drive is the same as it was the
last time it was restarted, the starting screen will show the
firmware version information such as the release date, etc, and
the kind of the video format such as PAL or NTSC, instead of
asking the hard drive to be formatted.
The Home Screenis shownafter the system is ready.
